Should We Load 8 Or 9 In The Box To Stuff Messam?
James replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
use a formation that doesn't give teams running options and problem solved no need to worry about size... As long as Etchevary is here we are going to be a team that has a weakness against the run that's just the way it is. Been his MO the entire time. You knew what you were getting when you hired him we just have to live with it and hope that it works in the long run. There's plenty of reason to worry about size... I saw Messam dragging guys for 5 yards before he was tackled last game... Sask O-line was killing us pushing Thomas around like a boy amongst men. Dunn at WLB is another problem in my mind.... A DB just doesnt have the tackling power that a LB has... Wild is a WLB, not a MLB -
I'd also like to start 6 NI's on offence. I really think Thomas is a weak link out there at DT... Anderson and Turner together full time would be something else... This has been bugging me all year
-
Yes, Hopefully Kromah dominates and wins the starting role at MLB Maybe then we will see Wild at WLB when he comes back

says one of the guys who just cant admit he was wrong wrong about what exactly? that we shouldn't have signed messam? If you think for one second that Messam does the same behind our oline as he has done behind sask oline, you are kidding me, he's not even their number 1 running back, THe guy sat unsigned for 2 3 weeks. Should we have signed him? I don't think so cuz i don't think he'd make that much of a difference behind our oline. Messams stats for this season 38 rushing attempts for 258 yards. Messams rushing against the bombers... 25 carries 190 yards... Meaning in his other games he has had 13 carries for 68 yards. He's not as good as you think. Would he have made a difference if he was playing for us? No, he wouldn't have because then he wouldn't be playing against us. He's put up all his numbers vs the bombers. 7.6 yard average vs the bombers. 5.2 vs the rest of the league on way way less carries.. THe guy has had 75 percent of his carries this season vs the bombers. He'd make no difference to us at all. Fun fact though : bombers lead the league in giving up the most rushing yards, don't matter who we play or what running back it is, they all RUN on us. Unless the argument is we should have signed him so then he wouldn't be playing against us. But even if that's the argument, why sign a guy just so he doesn't play against you, guess we should sign john chick and everyone else who gives us problems too, just so they wouldn't play against us. Your really reaching... its time to admit it now

I like Booker's Measurable's. Hopefully he can play football
-
I've never wanted Myddleton.... The guy just flat out isn't very good. If we want improvements on the OLine, we're either going to have to give up A LOT in trade, or just be patient... I guess we could always hope for a Brendon LaBatte scenario to unfold and hope we're on the winning end of the bidding war.

I dont think its just a matter of wrapping up anymore... I saw some of our guys being dragged for close to 5 yards, and everyone else getting pushed around. It's time Etchevary stopped being so damn Stubborn and played 2 LBers and a Nose Tackle. Wouldn't Mind seeing Turner at End more either... He did a pretty darn good job...

we see it different. The defender did not turn his head at all. It was pi no question. Screening, illegal contact take your pick. But that didn't lose us the game. agreed except you could say it did lose it for us.... he got there way early and blocked kelly's vision

says one of the guys who just cant admit he was wrong

That sucks for us

I would suggest that with the **** show going on last season that judging a player based on that is not the best course of action. I would suggest you are wrong. Lots of players weren't disinterested and continued to play as well as they could. This whole "Matthews was disinterested" thing is total nonsense! I'm so tired of people around here pretending to be psychiatrists. He had a string of bad luck with injuries. He had the same type of expressions on his face in 2012 when he was rookie of the year Willy also has a relaxed face when he's losing, does that mean he doesn't care?

Etch's scheme gives a chance to win every game. We have the talent in the secondary and on the d line but our lb corps is lacking. This is still a rebuilding year, as much as everyone doesnt want to hear that. Shalom Secondary is good, but we could use another Nose Tackle and a dominant DE. We also need to keep Kromah in with Wild at WLB. Etch is to stubborn to admit his D doesn't work and will keep going like this untill he gets fired
-
I like Fraser, he's a good player, but man did Turner look good at DE yesterday! He had a very good performance I thought. I still think we need to sign a Garrett Mcyntire, or a Phill Hunt... What's the status of Justin Hickman? Matthews would be good to, Kelly has been invisible and unable to connect with Willy when he is thrown to.

Tough loss for me, now I'm going to have to deal with the arrogant **** head rider fans all week at work. I really hate losing to that team
-
We're lucky Messam has an injury, with our current roster we would have very little chance at stopping him... lets see if we can manage to stop Mr. Allen who's a more balanced back, but still fairly powerful nonetheless

I'm disapointed Kromah's Off, and not sure why we're keeping Unamba on over Sears I've been really liking Fraser so I'm happy he's getting another chance

http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/five-storylines-273289041.html?cx_navSource=d-top-story BLUE MOVES On: Louie Richardson, Gord Hinse, Jarvis Jones, EJ Kuale; Off: Matthias Goossen, Patrick Neufeld, Paris Cotton, Abe Kromah. Notable: Defensive end Jason Vega, who sat out last week's Bombers win over Montreal with an injury, is a healthy scratch this week. Head coach Mike O'Shea said Friday he liked what Vega's replacement last week, Kashawn Fraser, showed against Montreal and during practice this week.

I've had turf toe. Feels like your toe is broken. really sucks

If he's out I start Sears and JFG over Romby and Sherman. I think we need to start JFG and Sherman if we're going 3 imports on OLine. We need Anderson and Turner at DT for the majority of reps against this team. Bucknor, Sherman, JFG, Watson, Kohlert, Morely and Greaves As nice as it would be to finally have our best SAM out there, I think thats our best chance Kromah and Anderson need to be out there as much as possible IMO and Wild needs to be at WLB. It's not like he cant cover anyway

Alex Hall and Linden Gaydosh released by Panthers
James replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'd love it if we traded for his rights. They already have a crap load of Canadian DT's anyway, if they land Gaydosh I'm sure they'll virtually give Gill's rights away -
NFL update on players potentially of Bomber interest
James replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I would think that if it was Hunt, O'Shea would be interested.. He's more of a complete End, and probably has a better attitude when it comes to "buy in". I think the whole reason O'Shea doesn't want Hall is because of how Hall was acting in the previous regime. -
Chiefs release Weston Dressler(Updated: Now signed by Riders)

Could be a Sask-Peg Grey cup again this year -
Chiefs release Weston Dressler(Updated: Now signed by Riders)
James replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Interesting proposal, had to think about it. I don't think I would. If I'm going to trade a top flight Canadian I at least want some Canadian value in return. Our Canadian Content is just starting to get respectable again, I dont think I'd weaken it just to get a good Import Rec... despite how good he is -
I hope so If the Riders go on a running rampage with Messam at the end of the game again, Putting Kromah and Wild/Kuale in at the same time should do the trick. And please Keep Turner and Anderson in at DT. Thomas gets pushed around way to much in the run Game, Particularly against Saskatchewan's crazy good OL
