  1. I was thinking Ottawa will go after him if he springs loose but I think they'll get Matthews for a lot less than they offered Dressler, maybe $140,000 to $160,000 depending on how much of a fight the Bombers put up. Matthews has great potential but he doesn't have much of a track record so I doubt he's going to be offered top dollar. If the rumours that the Als are looking to move S.J. Green are true can't see why the ORBs wouldn't go after him. In reality he's a better receiver than Dressler. maybe the Als dont want to trade SJ Green to division rival, if the Bombers dont get Matthews, they should inquire what's Popp asking price for SJ Green. Honestly I'd be more interested in Duron Carter he's a lot better than Kelly and probably over Matthews too. Not sure though what's his NFL aspiration next year. Duron Carter is probably the only reason they're willing to move SJ I wonder what the asking price is, would be stupid for us to give up a lot for SJ Green when we are already real strong at Receiver. I would rather just go after Matthews
  2. It's going to be super funny if he turns Ottawa down anyway
  3. I certainly hope the Argos find a way to stay afloat and are able to sustain it.... but, if they dont, Van Zeyl would sure look good in the blue and gold
  4. Crazy physical tools, but just way to raw. I was really hoping he would become what Zach Anderson is now at one point
  5. I think we already have a top 3 rec. Corps in the cfl... If we were to land Dressler, we'd have by far the best. I guess we would move Watson to boundary? And have three import slots?
  6. Didn't Hunt hurt his knee again?
  7. Anthony Allen is the back I want as well Floyd. He's got decent hands out of the backfield, good blocking, great power, and his got real quick lateral movement despite being one of the biggest backs in the league I doubt they'll cut him now though. Maybe Megget could be something similar for us
  8. I think we need hall. Our pass rush needs a boost
  9. I hope we bring Meggett back. Maybe give McGuffie a shot. I'm underwhelmed by our RB's. The more Cotton touches the ball the less impressed I am. Hebert Tossed him around like a rag doll last night, and he looks out of sync with the flow of the offence IMO.
  10. We didn't have a 1k rusher last season. lol, I guess I forgot about that
  11. I just think defensive lines in this league are that much better then their counter part. Nobody seems to be able to get any push from their OLine. Except maybe Calgary We haven't had a running back rush for under a thousand since I've been a true bomber fan, Grigsby might break that streak this year unless we can keep this up
  12. call me crazy, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the Als wind up 2nd in the east. Hamilton doesn't impress me, especially with all their qbs out and in a contest between a team with a very tough defense and no offense vs. and all around bad team like Ottawa give me the team that at least has the D. I wouldn't be surprised either, they have a capable QB now, and that defence is super tough
  13. I thought Kromah looked pretty good out there last night.... Hopefully it won't be long until we see him as our main MLB, with Wild at WLB.
  14. If they get him and get Dressler back they'll be a very dangerous offence
  15. You really want to put Mack's record of draft picks against Huff?? Brad Sinopoli, Brander Craighead, Brent Jones, Dmitri Tsoumpas, Jesse Newman, Jon Gott, Eric Fraser, Steve Mydellton, J'Michael Deane, Rob Maver, Karl McCartney, Matt Walter, Anthony Parker, Brad Erdos, Keenan McDougall, Shane Bergman, Pierre Lavertu. Yeah, he muffed it on Pall. Can't win em all. Eric fraser and Steve Myddleton aren't exactly ringing endorsements either
  16. Pall was so bad that they cut there first round draft pick in a matter of months... No thanks
  17. http://www.winnipegsun.com/2014/08/18/brothers-in-blue-andersons-flying-high-after-chad-joins-zach-with-bombers Zach and Chad Anderson are one step closer to living their childhood dream. The Anderson brothers from Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. have already played NCAA football together with the Northern Michigan University Wildcats, but now they’re teammates in the CFL with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Just wait until they step on the field together in an actual game at the professional level. Chad Anderson is an offensive lineman who was recently cut by the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL and was officially added to the Blue Bombers practice roster on Monday, while Zach Anderson is in his second season as a defensive tackle with the Blue Bombers. “I love him to death and because we’ve been together for so long, I feel like we’re twins,” said Chad Anderson, who spent time with the LA Kiss of the Arena Football League before he was signed by the Colts in July. “We can talk to one another without saying anything. Having that kind of bond feels special and to be able to continue it, where most people at this age will drift and do your own things, is an honour. It’s unreal.” Growing up, pushing one another to new heights was the name of the game for the Anderson brothers. “Every sport was competitive,” said Zach Anderson. “We wrestled against each other, did track and field and football, of course. Our parents were gym owners, so we’re always competitive in the weight room. We’ve been training partners since we were little kids.” Zach Anderson was thrilled to hear that his brother was being brought on board by the Blue Bombers. “He’s kind of like a gentle giant off the field, but on the field, he can get nasty,” said Zach. “If I could, I’d wish everybody had a brother they could play football with. It just raises the bar that much more. We’re real close. We shared the same room until I was 16-years-old. I’m glad to have him here. It means a lot. You have someone who knows you personally, on a different level than anyone else would know you. He knows what I went through going in (to the CFL) from when he was still in college. He got cut by the Colts just like I got cut by the (Cleveland) Browns. “He’s a big guy and I think he’ll be good for us. As the older brother, I’m going to show him around so he doesn’t have to go through that awkward phase. I’m going to help get him comfortable with everybody so he can get right to work.” Before he was cut by the Colts, Chad Anderson played the fourth quarter against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Aug. 7 in his first taste of NFL action. “That was like walking into the Colosseum,” said Anderson, noting that his strength is his biggest asset. “It was an amazing experience. What stands out the most was seeing all the players you’ve been watching on TV for years in person.” Blue Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea isn’t planning to make any changes to the offensive line this week for Friday’s game against the Montreal Alouettes. When it comes to where Chad Anderson might fit into the equation down the road, O’Shea said it depends on how quickly he adapts to the CFL game and picks up the Blue Bombers’ system. While O’Shea didn’t want to pigeonhole Anderson to a particular position, it’s more likely he’ll fit in at guard rather than tackle. Most of all, O’Shea liked the scouting report on Chad Anderson that was provided to him by the scouting staff. “As they put it, he was a three-hour mauler,” said O’Shea. “He would give maximum effort for hours on end and physically, beat people up. That’s a good thing, a good start.” _____________________________________________________________________________________ I personally love the idea of having a man beast at RG and shifting Neufeld out to Tackle. Neufeld is more of a finesse type of guy anyway and is probably and upgrade on Howard . I think Neufeld struggles to push the big DT's in this league around in the ru game Chad, Chris and Steve in the middle of the line could really get things going for us
  18. I'd like to here jbr's thoughts on the clip... I pretty much consider him the OL guru of the site To me it looks like he's a beast against inferior competition... Impossible to move and strong as a bull
  19. Surely this must all just be coincidence right.... Right?
  20. Is this said tongue in cheek? I certainly hope Etch will use him at end and not slide him inside because he's too heavy for "his style" of end. If we get bilukidi and Mulumba our defensive line will get a huge boost
  21. Especially Steele's run up the middle for a 19 yard touchdown, that was tough to watch from a defensive point of view. Oh yeah, kinda hung my head after that one
  22. I believe mike over most of the bomber reporters in WPG
  23. Even with Wild at WILL and Kromah at MLB, our LBers are still fairly small... Right now our LBers are beyond small... Wild is just an excellent LBer period. He would still be a great DOLLAR if we want to have a real MLB
  24. He's a pretty solid db as well. yep, and he can help on cover teams... just a solid player to have all around on your roster.
