I find there is something to like about almost all the rookies signed this off season. Weather or not it translates to the CFL game is a different story, and weather or not the coaches pick the right guys is also another story.

Im not really liking it that much either. I was hoping that Tate would be WILL and rotate in at End. Hopefully Nzegwu is as good as I think he's going to be and it Forces Tate back into LBing/coverage type of role. I just don't think Tate is dimensional enough off the edge. Theres no way he's going to be able to bull rush any of the OT's... He will probably struggle trying to get the OT's hands off him IMO

Morley at running back? Interesting. He'll be the 'Thunder' to Ford's 'Lightning'! lol... meant RG.... must have jumped over the "G" on my keyboard

A premium Returner would be nice and all, But I really want him to be able to contribute on the field as well... not necessarily at receiver either... there are other positions we'll need good depth at that are more important IMO. Would be nice if a good rb could really blow it up at returner...

Zach Anderson 3rd on the chart... If Etch ends up cutting him I'm breaking out the pitch fork and torches I noticed that too. Even if the ratio doesn't allow Anderson to start initially, I'm sure they will find a way to keep him around. He is way too talented to just throw away. I agrre that he's way to talented, But with Etch you never know...

I'd rather have a more intuitive, and more physical safety like Sears. An instinctive safety with a presence like Sears has can improve every position in the secondary. No offense to Alexander at all, but Sears wasn't an outstanding corner. He could well be above-average at safety, so if Alexander is even close to Sears ability at corner, that's the better use of the 2 players. Sears was a pretty damn good corner. He has the skill set to be a great corner. Great speed and physicality, but he was never looking at the ball, allowing receivers to make grabs they shouldn't have been in position to make. That skill set translates very well to be forward facing like he will be often at safety. Before he was injured that one year Im pretty sure he was top two in the league in knockdowns despite playing only a portion of the games, plus he had three picks, so I'm going to disagree on your assessment of his CB ability

Sears at safety, Canadian at field CB. Good call guys... can't remember the exact names that thought of that. Absolutely hate Newman and Wild at MAC, But like the idea of Dunn at WILL. Really hoping Mathias shows enough to shift Morely back to RB so we only need one canuck on defence!

IMO seems like the best we've had since 08...

I get the feeling he was hoping we would pick him.... call it a hunch. Maybe if we did trade for his rights he'd be pretty happy?

Jones might even have a shot at starting at corner at some point in the season, IMO. Alexander and Bucknor are solid players but not world-beaters... no guarantee either one holds on to the starting job. Not saying Jones will win the job out of camp, but he has the athleticism, that's for sure. Briggs has a chance to take a big role on special teams if he shows he can handle it. I hope your right, but I personally don't think Jones will be ready to start until next year. Between Robertson and Jones we have to very Athletic NI DB's... hopefully they pan out for us. Are these guys strictly Corners? or can they develop at Safety? With all the Import DB's(some with very impressive resume's), It's getting harder for me to envision 2 NI's in the Secondary.
-
So I guess we're going to have a fast athletic DLine, a rover, kuale and a bunch of DB's? Interesting
-
So, if this guy can stay healthy, who do you guys think we try and keep around for a back up? Can Grigsby return? If so he's my choice
-
Runs a 4.60 40 too... very impressive for a man of his size

DUI not that stupid? Come on... Sheets is continually doing & saying stupid things. Just because he says stupid things does not make him stupid.... otherwise you and I would be considered stupid as well (which we may be ) Also, just because he was defending himself from some fool who was bashing the CFL, doesn't mean Sheets hates the CFL too

Seems like Mike and JBR bash a player and everyone jumps on that band wagon.

Bilukidi was looking like he was on track to become a starter in oakland and they cut him... You never really know.. Hopefully we'll see Mulumba up here sooner than we think!

Some new players and where you guys think they might fit in 2014

to be fair though we've said that every year since the beginning of time. Yes, this is true -
Some picks in the nfl draft that might concern us Greenbay picked OLB Carl Bradford in the 4th round.... Competition for Mulumba? Indy picked ILB Andrew Jackson in the 6th, though I highly doubt he can push Henoc back to the cfl Cincinnati didn't pick any DT's.... Not sure how high they are on Bilukidi though... Anyone know? (Though they do have a total of 8 DT's listed on their roster)

If you'll notice my ridiculously low number of posts, it's mostly because I really don't want to be irrational and say stupid things.

For me, I find it hard to pick only 3... I can find things to get excited about in a lot of the new recruits. I'm pretty happy I'm not in mike O'Shea's position this year... I think it's going to be a difficult year come cut down day -
I'm surprised no one has signed Laurent yet

Sears or Washington. Maybe one of the new guys. I thought they wanted that to be a Canadian spot? I always thought it would be Alexander at Safety with Bucknor at Field Corner. But If Alexander is better at Corner hopefully Newman can really step up and be a good safety for us. I just can't see two Canadians in the secondary. I see it as 4 OL, 2 REC, 1 rotating on D Well, hopefully Neufeld is ready to take that step and be a starter at Tackle for us then... That would be ideal. But I do recall hearing O'Shea say that they weren't yet in a position to have 4 canucks on the line.

I would take a serious look at Briggs... he's 230 lbs but can prob cut 10lbs... his numbers mirror Edem's from last year. Yeah, but O'Shea and Walters already said they're keeping him at LB
