Anyone wanna sell their jersey(s)
johnzo replied to Bomber_fanaddict's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I hear ya, but you might have to pay more than you want to get one -- I really doubt there's a robust resale market for those ugly things. How did we get out of having to wear them a second time, I wonder? -
Anyone wanna sell their jersey(s)
johnzo replied to Bomber_fanaddict's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Y'know what would make this thread cooler ... would be pictures. My own collection is pretty small. I've got - a Roberts navy home, an xmas gift from my cool wife. The tackle twill numbers have all peeled off at this point, leaving a gross shadow of adhesive. Occasionally I think about redecorating this one but I have no idea how to get rid of the dried glue. - a weird silkscreened #63 jersey from the 80s that smells funny, like it's made of a weird plastic, and it has no Walby nameplate. Bought this one on ebay before I could smell it. - the one I wear to games, my stitched Brown retro royal blue, the style from 2010ish that doesn't have the W logo. Roomy enough to fit a hoodie underneath. - a tiny jersey for my dog, again purchased by my cool wife. I wish it were a lightning bolt logo, because the big block W on it makes it look like the dog is repping the University of Washington. -

Any links to a story about the Riders' ratio cheating? -
Anyone wanna sell their jersey(s)
johnzo replied to Bomber_fanaddict's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I spotted a camo Vega jersey on kijiji the other day. It's a winnipeg seller, so that'll keep your money local. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-football/winnipeg/brand-new-signed-vega-winnipeg-blue-bombers-jersey-xl/1171568852?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true It's funny that it's a Vega jersey, since he was the guy who unveiled them and modeled them and was reportedly repelled by them. -
Jyles had his moments, especially once he had Greg Carr to throw to. He was lights out in that one amazing OT game against BC, the one that Alex Brink started, the one that ended Casey Printers' career. And he put up 40 points in a home game against Montreal that year -- but the Als put up 44. Total heartbreaker of a game, typical of the snakebit 2010 season. He's a long long way from the worst QB we've watched here.

Mayo made some plays in preseason. Didn't look out of place.

Yeah, he had a few drunken throws and a few wild throws. I think he rushed back too soon. -

Lirim! Always nice to see a guy come back from adversity like that. -

Hope we see what Chris Jones does after the final gun. Is he gonna shake hands or have a tantrum? -
I thought it was weird how Nichols really didn't target Davis that often last night, even after we lost Dressler.
-
Mayo and McDuffie are in the mix too, and with Loffler at S we can start 4 import receivers. I think we'll start Kohlert, Davis, McDuffie, Mayo, Sheppard. Denmark will be a DI. Fogg will help out on returns.

I'm sure we're gonna see Willy again this year. Hopefully somehow we get to see the quick, decisive, and accurate Willy of 2014 and not the weirdly erratic statue of 2016. Because yeah, Nichols made throws the Willy hasn't connected on all year and those throws made all the difference.

Yeah, Shayon Green looked good last night, he was pushing into the pocket. I didn't notice if the Eskies ran much read option at his side, he was getting eaten alive on those previously...

Odds and Sods - Game 6 - Bombers at Edmonton
johnzo replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Loffler at S is the guy who unlocks that 3-IMP OL and he doesn't look out of place back there, so this looks like a no-brainer. -
Walls was a beast in the 2007 Grey Cup. He wanted it bad, you could see it. Chris Garrett should've been our next great running back. He had all the tools: power, moves, and speed.
-
I would sure love to see what Willy could do with the eternity that Reilly gets in the pocket.
-
Note that Garza would be a Grey Cup champ if Blaise Bryant could field a kickoff cleanly. I really loved watching Good Bishop play. Our three-game win streak in 2009 was super fun, he could really sling it. But yeah, Bad Bishop...

Week 4 Games - Wed (Ott @ TO) , Fri (Ham @ Mtl) & Sat (BC @ SK)

Like many, I'm not a fan of Rod Black as a commentator, but I have to feel bad for him for being contractually obligated to call this game. -
Wearing my retro Brown jersey today. Everyone in my office wants to talk about the no-look catch!

Get your youtube downloader fired up because who knows how long this is going to last.

Just found this. It's got dozens of Grey Cups starting in the early 1960s! https://www.youtube.com/user/Krusty21/search?query="grey+cup"+-journey

Whoah Trevor Harris 28/31 for just shy of 400 yards and zeropicks. Dude's in a serious groove. -
Here's Knuckles calling the 1987 East Final on CFN. Alas, one of the most disappointing losses in Bomber history as well as Tom Clements' and Willard Reaves' swan songs. I didn't have time to seek out a happy game. Good lord, the pick Clements threw at 1:29:20 was freakish. Dude was a real gunslinger, he always threw lots of picks. tho I gotta say that in a way it was good for the Argos to win this one and go to the Grey Cup. 1987 was one of the top three Grey Cups in my life.

Montreal down Glenn, S.J. Green, Carter, Stafford, and Sutton. Huge adversity, be interesting to see how they come out but I bet they look preseason bad. I've got Montreal in the pick-ems but that was when I thought it was Glenn playing, wish I could change it.
