Man, when I read stuff like this and when I see Bomber ads online, I like to say a prayer for the marketing team at WBB -- it must suck to have to run promotions for a team that's auguring in so hard it's driving fans beyond anger and into apathy.

Man, you gotta be impressed at Burris' enduring durability, especially this season when it seems like Zeus is hurling thunderbolts at quarterbacks. -
Odds and Sods - Game 12 Blue Bombers at Montreal Als

How far can Clarence Denmark run in a quarter second? If we're throwing a quick timing route and the ball is out a quarter-second late, that's probably an incompletion .. or, as Valderan notes, a wallpapered QB. -

Got up early for the game. Turned it off at halftime, went to the garage to play drums and work on my LED ribbon lightshow. -
MRI results in, Collaros out for the season ...
johnzo replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
This season ******* sucks. I hate seeing great CFL players go down like this. I don't care who they play for. Love the way Collaros plays -- very nice collection of agility and accuracy. Burris is the MOP now, I guess? Assuming he doesn't suffer a career-ender next week....but the guy has been freakishly durable throughout his career. -

Picard's snaps have been lottery tickets all year. Their wandering nature is somewhat mitigated by their slowness, it gives the QB time to locate and catch them. How minor a deal is it that the QB has to take half a second to receive the wandering snap? Timing is so critical in a lot of these plays, if the snap is a slow I bet it has repercussions later in the play. -

No problem with the guy being honest about his aspirations. If he draws NFL attention then that means we got some mighty fine QB play* out of him, so it's all good. *Pat Barnes notwithstanding, I guess

Yes, what we need to do is make our offense more predictable.

Henoc on his way to Hamilton & Toronto for visit
johnzo replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Geez, you guys. If I were essentially disposable and my career could end on a single play, I'd do whatever it took to maximize my value too. Good on Henoc for taking care of #1. -
The Hawks are another team that looked far, far better in royal blue.

Seeing those jerseys makes me feel twelve years old again, when I first became a fan. Love 'em. What's our record in them? As far as I can remember our only wins in royal blue was the 2013 Banjo Bowl and the 2011 home opener vs. the Argos.

I just read on Twitter that the ORFU will no longer participate in the Grey Cup tournament. It's a damn shame. I think the game's gotten too commercial, what do you think?

Doesn't running a 3-4 leave you vulnerable to the run game? You're gonna have more OLs getting to linebackers. We ran 3-4 during the glory days in the 80s, but Ty Jones was mainly a pass rush guy instead of a linebacker.
-
Looks like he was in the Argos' camp this season, but when you harvest the bumper crop of receivers that they did, you don't need Aaron Kelly.
-
Montreal rolled out an Edmonton castoff and went on a big run last year ... let's hope it works out as good for us.
-
Who of those 3 is covering a slotback? Bass or Wild. I don't know if Simmons has the speed. You seriously want one of those guys covering receivers like Green and Dressler? This team uses two linebackers, not three. Our D is a 4-2-6. Hell, it looks like a 5-1-6 on a lot of occasions because Hurl's usually jumping into a gap right after the snap.

Markus Howell as the new OC - Free Press
johnzo replied to dmillerywg's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
JBR, it sounds like you broke down Marve's last game a lot ... what was called, who he was looking at, how much time he had, how Calgary defended him with a disciplined pass rush, and so forth -- would love to read a blog post dissecting all that stuff. Bring back 2nd and 10! (The complete game is on youtube, so you could even embed video links...) -
These are super interesting but they seem off. Want to see more about the methodology. Also, Calgary at 8th in yards per rush doesn't seem right -- my numbers have them at 5th after all week 9 games. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jP_cypt8ZfpOxDRSNNkYYBG_Cfl3IHJ-EWysW5X1r7c/edit#gid=0. Though the margin between 5 and 8 is super tight -- just 1/10 of a yard. Maybe Mark's numbers are for an earlier week. Good lord, Saskatchewan is great at running the ball this year.
