Week 3: Als @ Stamps (pregame) Stamps' rookie pivot-- will he be a Garcia or a Feterik?

Week 3: Elks @ BC Mike's personal ad: "Toughest man in CFL seeks five decent hogs."

very rare that a guy on a curl route can break two tackles...
-
Yeah, stop the run was clearly Job 1 for the Argos last week. Tons of guys in the box clogging their gaps. And in the end, it didn't matter. Zach passed for nearly 300 yards, our D gave em nothing except for the Arbuckle drive, and we won comfortably. Interesting thing: we haven't scored a TD from the red zone yet. Zach / Demski / Lawler / Bailey doing damage from outside the 20.

On one hand, you're not wrong. On the other hand, the Redblacks sure seem to miss him. 19-17 in 2017-2018 with him, 3-15 in 2019 without him.

Oh yeah, middle name meant that death and hell were on the march into my life.

Tonight: Elks (+3.5) at BC The Lions are no longer owned by a dead guy; hopefully new owner Amar Doman is not a Pezim or a Skalbania. He's got some work ahead of him to rebuild the Lions brand. Good luck to him. For BC, Michael Reilly listed as starter with a -Q suffix (questionable, game time decision) so ah, bet accordingly. He was again listed as limited all week in practice. BC has completely revamped its kicking game. Global kicker Taeru Yamasaki has been cut and global punter Jake Ford is on the suspended list. In their place they are rolling out two (!) import kickers: recently signed PK Jimmy Camacho and practice roster punter Stefan Flintoff. Their global player is now Niklas Gustav, who backs up at the QK (?) position on the DL. (maybe it's the James "QuicK" Parker position?) For the Elks, Armanti Edwards (just 33 yards on five catches so far) is injured as is import LT D'Antne Demery. Canadian Kyle Saxelid will start in Demery's place. Somehow Trevor Harris is the yardage leader in passing with both Edwards and Ellingson producing very little. The Elks should've rebranded as the Edmonton Engima. The betting line is EDM + 3.5. CFL.ca was 4-2 BC. MBB was 35-7 (83%) BC. So the stage is set for a huge Elk victory tonight, further confusing the CFL's muddled power rankings.

When my mom used my full name, it meant that **** had just gotten real. Michael must've grown up with a less angry mom.

Per 3 Down Nation, BC have released shaky global kicker Takeru Yamasaki, and have signed American kicker Jimmy Camacho and Canadian kicker Félix Ménard-Brière.

solid!

yeah, and everyone outside that top tier is either a broken underperforming veteran or an Argonaut.

Als at Elks: "you hit him, he folds." Sewell makes origami of Trevor Harris

Week 2 Argos @ Blue: a week 1 reprise: Argos hang around awhile Blue grinds them to dust BC @ Calgary Mike Reilly's elbow loves cortisone. Stamps require stronger prescription Your week 2 standings: Rick Campbell is 1 and 1 Bettors 0 and 2 Ticats @ Roughriders Van Zeyl? more like van Turnstile, am I right? Ticat QBs wrecked
-
I think Doug Flutie himself would be road pizza behind that OL.
-
nice tackle on teams by Hamilton 84
-
I dunno, on a play like that you've gotta get the steamboats from your OL. Van Zeyl rhyming with turnstile today.
-
Hamilton RT beaten cleanly on the fumble. Hamilton OL stinky.
-
so the pass rush needs to be a little more cautious against Fajardo because he's got moves? as opposed to Nichols who doesn't?
-
that pass to Picton is the kind of play I'd like to see from the Bombers ... hit the receiver in flight down the seam.
-
Banks not even the best receiver on his team anymore.

for sure, but for some folks their vice is a life and family wrecker. I don't know where the balance is, how much stuff we need to clamp down on in order to protect those vulnerable people. it's like any other kind of thing -- guns or drugs or whatever -- most people use them responsibly but some don't and they wreck their lives and others. Definitely think the CFL has a responsibility to acknowledge the dark side of gambling and make on-air announcements about how to get help.
-
Hamilton pass protection does not look good enough to give Masoli the time he needs.

This is a great discussion PCG and I think it's a whole distinct thing from the attendance story in the CFL. I've got serious mixed feelings about the CFL diving into the gambling biz. I don't bet myself but as a fan I kinda like having a line on the game, it spices the game up and gives extra things to talk about and of course the CFL could definitely use the money. But on the other hand I've got at least one cousin whose VLT habit made her homeless. I've also got family who are serious untreated alcoholics and no one bats an eye at booze sponsorships of sports. I dunno. Everything in capitalism is about the vulnerable being exploited maximally. Would like to see the CFL give equal time during broadcasts to gambling addiction hotlines / programs, maybe. Put a hotline phone number on the screen, have Glenn Suitor speak in hushed tones about how gambling addiction is a real problem and urging people to seek help if they're out of control.
