BLM always made his hay in the summer when the sun was shining ... if he's struggling like this with nice weather, what's he going to be like when the weather gets bad?
-
After 2019 I would've kept Grant too. Gamebreaking returners are hard to find. But look at the bright side: it's been a long time since our castoffs went elsewhere and became stars. Geroy Simon is the last one I remember. Would love to see the Canadian Mafia take on the Wally Buono role where they are recruiting so much talent they can't keep it all...

Reilly on pace to pass for 700 yards a week after showcasing a linguini elbow...
-
who throws cross-field 61 yard passes on a rope tho?

cortisone is a hell of a drug
-
they got an American on the practice roster already.

Mike getting lots of time to operate in the pocket ... Calgary seems to be dropping everyone back and daring him to try his arm.

Mike Jones at cover linebacker.

PREGAME Week 2 BC @ Calgary hoser quarterback-- make ready your stones and sling! Goliath awaits.
-
Tonight, BC @ Calgary (Calgary -1.5) Rourke starting per depth chart, for what that's worth. Mike Reilly was limited in practice all week and is questionable to play, but is listed as the backup. For what that's worth. Takeru Yamasaki remains at PK after missing two short field goals and a convert in the game the Lions lost by 4; the Lions do have import kicker Stefan Flintoff on their practice roster. For the Stamps, Ka'deem Carey returns at starting tailback after a horrendous fourth quarter that sparked the Argo comeback last week. Whoever books this stuff has Calgary favored by a measly 1.5 points, which seems kinda low to me, but I am not much of a gambler. cfl.ca was 6-0 Stamps MBB was 37-3 Stamps Just like those tall brains above, I picked Calgary in the pickems, which means that Rourke will absolutely go off on them and the Lions will cruise 45-18. I have a perfect record to preserve!

Yeah the whole "can the elks possibly give this one away?" thing in the fourth quarter was pretty compelling, a welcome relief from the lapo/Nichols football malpractice storyline of the first three quarters. Thank you Abdul Kanneh, new favorite non-bomber. That said, I spent a lot of the game on a second screen searching for dink jokes to post in the game thread. Growing up rural taught me to make my own fun

I will take the excellent puppy rescuer Brady Oliveira.
-
def want to see him sign a one-day contract and retire as a Bomber. Was also hoping the Bombers would get a chance to present him with his ring pregame when the redblacks came to town but alas the gaps of the14-game pandemic schedule.

got curious so I hit up newspaperarchive.com...yeah, it was a wind game. looks like they figured they'd get more distance placekicking into the wind rather than punting.
-
I've got super distant memories of this, I think there was some condition preventing the Riders from punting ... maybe their longsnapper was hurt?
-
my big Q is who are our import recs this week -- neither Nelson nor Bailey really took advantage of the opportunity they got with Adams out last week

Another low-passing win from Mike Reilly of all people back in 2015. 7/22 for 49 yards (!), but wins 25-18. The story: this was the game where Collaros did his ACL and his backup Jeff Mathews threw two pick-sixes. http://sportsstats.cbc.ca/football/Canadian-football-league-boxscores.aspx?page=/data/CFL/results/2015/boxscore46876.html

for all Nichols has declined, he still gets great accuracy and velocity on the dumps he takes in Brandon's cheerios

there once was a poet named Tracker who aspired to be a syllable packer he'd count and he'd count til he had the right amount flaunting some solid pitter-patter
-
I dunno man, dude could make things happen on a good day but he threw a ton of bad-decision picks.
-
Mike Kelly himself replied to the tweet. Apparently there was "sideways freezing rain" that day.

I think garbage time started during the second quarter of BC vs. Riders .... that's when the Rider secondary started getting real casual. BLM is gonna win more games for sure, but something looks off with him. He's missing throws he didn't miss before. Is he gonna be ageless like Calvillo or Allen and find new peaks in his game? or is he going to tail off now? I don't think he's done by any stretch but I think the trend will be down for him. Lapo, we'll see. His team is swaggering in two phases of the game but doesn't look to have a lot of upside on O. Could see him being the fall guy for the redblack's terrible offensive recruiting.

it's from this super fun online t-shirt making game called Tee KO (https://www.jackboxgames.com/tee-ko/) We played it a ton during the pandemic. Alas, don't have the purchase info for the shirts we made..

yup. I'll own it. Figured without Adams and Harris, we were in tough. like I said, very smart.
