  1. nice breakdown by Suitor showing how the roughie DBs are playing run-first.
  2. get those four stripe DBs on their heels, that'll open up some space for Harris / Demski / Streveler.
  3. to be fair, Demski had just one guy to beat in space on that play and he's capable of winning that fight ... he just didn't. and if you lead him, that's a pick or Demski gets blown up and its incomplete.
  4. Alexander coming downhill makes a play! Bombers are all about capitalizing on those mistakes ... make em pay!
  5. yeah, good point, I missed that on first viewing. Loved the second episode. Mandalorian vs. an entire Jawa sandcrawler was the Star Wars showdown I didn't realize I needed.
  6. can you get mutual offside calls on a play? or is just the first offside flagged?
  7. man I did not realize how fundamental a muscle the oblique muscle is ... respect for gutting it out with a broken core ... let's hope the Bombers see to it that Fajardo can start his rehab / recovery promptly on Monday morning.
  8. Drake navigates to Fajardo's kitchen!
  9. I'm hoping that they unmask Pedro Pascal soon, the guy has acres of charisma and screen presence, the mask is a cool look but it's hard to really get a sense of the character thru it.
  10. I thought it was ok. The show did enough to keep me watching and I was definitely intrigued by the ending.
  11. The 1987 Eastern Final was a goddamn nightmare. We lapped the league that season and we laid a total egg at home in front of about 12,000 fans. What a terrible way to end the Tom Clements / Willard Reaves era. The CFL's semi-lucrative TV contract ended after that season and a ton of talent was cut from the league. That year put the whole league in a near-death spiral that it didn't really pull out of unti the Radically Canadian years. The 2011 Grey Cup was a heartbreaker. Played on my birthday, the only Bomber Grey Cup game I've ever seen live. Bombers hit the snooze button five times before making the game a bit interesting in garbage time ... then Odell Willis dropped a sure pick six and Andrew Harris put a fork in us on the following drive. The recent regular season win against Calgary was kind of a big deal for me. I'd written the Bombers off, they were down to their emergency QB, playing Calgary in a game that mattered ... a sure recipe for annihilation. But then they gutted it out and better yet they repeated it two weeks later when it counted. That Zass Strevelaros combo could become a Bomber legend in 2019. So stoked for Sunday!
  12. re: Collaros outplaying Nichols ... Collaros had a totally Nichols/Lapo type game in the WSF ... pass for under 200 yards, keep the ball clean (tho he got real lucky a couple times), complete a couple bombs to Adams (the 36 yarder counts as a bomb to me, that was 36 yards in the air and no YAC) and otherwise he just distributed the ball in very safe ways to our playmakers. FWIW, I think Nichols would've won that game as well. Nothing that Collaros did was outside Nichol's envelope. And maybe it's just that ZC is new to the Blue, but Nichols was smoother at handling all the Lapo misdirection than Collaros is, there were a few times when ZC was just a bit out of sync with the sweeping receiver or the tailback and that hurt some plays.
  13. I winced when I saw him out running patterns on the wildcat plays. I guess that's a lot less dangerous than short yardage, but still.
  14. you know it baby
  15. I know Move ***** Get Out The Way is kind of a Mike Sellers thing thanks to that famous youtube but damned if it ain't on-point for Second-Biggest Chris.
  16. yeah, maybe. an injury to a Stampeder starting receiver is the least impactful injury in the CFL. Huff has a goddamn vending machine in the McMahon basement that dispenses receivers whenever he needs em.
  17. speaking of reasons to impeach Trump's ass, we haven't even talked about emoluments yet. Dude's hotels are full of empty rooms paid for by foreign guests who are trying to curry influence, and he wanted to buff up the offseason numbers of his Miami golf course by holding the G-7 conference there. Sure, Congress made him reconsider the G-7 thing, but in the real world, such bad judgment is a firing offense even if you don't act on your bad judgment, because your bosses shouldn't have to watch your every move to see if you're trying to rip them off. Like, if I worked at a gas station and I announced to my boss "hey, when my friends come in for gas I'm just gonna keep their money instead of putting it in the till" it would be totally okay for him to fire me even if he first got me to agree not to keep my friends' gas money. That's all this is, a firing. The American electorate elected a guy who turned out to be a shitty president. Subsequently, at first opportunity, they elected a bunch of Democrats to Congress. For those unfamiliar with the US Constitution, Congresspeople have the explicit power to make a case to fire the President. If the American people wanted to rule out impeachment, they would have voted for a GOP Congress. Trump made that point repeatedly on the 2018 campaign trail, that impeachment was a risk of a Dem congress. That point didn't resonate with the electorate, and so here we are.
  18. this is one of those things that contain multiple true things. yes, the member of congress did have a sex relationship with a subordinate, and that's a bad look no matter what the circumstances. Her resignation is more punishment than I'd ask for, but she made that call. No laws were broken. yes, the member of congress is a victim of revenge porn and whoever did it tried to extort her with more photos. That breaks several laws -- revenge porn is against the law in California -- and I hope law enforcement fries whoever's responsible for that.
  19. definitely wasn't on the Zach train when he arrived here and I cringed every time a stamp came within a foot of him ... but have to take my hat off to him. Lapo seemed to be calling good plays for him too, he looked pretty comfortable out there and we didn't have the usual long doldrums that the Lapo offence features even at its best. I thought we were dog food against Calgary last weekend, didn't even watch the game live, just as a formality on Sunday night before bed. Really really really hope the guy doesn't get hurt any more. He's gonna have a bullseye on him in the playoffs.
  20. He's a fine QB, but he's no Ralph Brock.
  21. Yeah, I don't normally like to think in terms of conspiracies but holy hell does the Epstein situation stink. Two guards fell asleep -and- the camera failed -and- Epstein was taken off suicide watch prior to his death? That's a lot of coincidental failures. On the other hand, a jailhouse assassination seems like a manageable scope and objective for a conspiracy. (unlike the harvesting of millions of votes from illegal immigrants, or the alt-physics that make steel beams immune to jet fuel fires) Just need the cooperation of a few people in the right places to pull it off. It definitely wouldn't be the first weird jailhouse assassination in NYC history.
  22. I remember Robert Marve making at least one real nifty scramble sandlot throws which he was here...
  23. should've said "offensive stat line." my bad.
  24. HHH to Mike Miller for the having the exact same Mike Miller stat line for the sixth or seventh time this year: one target, one catch, one first down. Dude showed some moves too, your FB is not supposed to be able to deke a corner.
