Man, Toronto reminds me of the 2010 Bombers -- they can make a bunch of things happen on the field but they just cannot win.

I remember people who I trust asserting that no QB who wasn't comfortable as a pocket passer could have long-term success in the modern CFL. Is that still true?

Just getting to watch the game now ... damn, that old Argo boat logo looks smart. No idea why they changed it.

I wonder who would be the Bomber OC in this scenario? Everyone busts on Lapo but we've done far worse than him. George Cortez was the guy I really wanted here instead of Lapo in 2016, he had excellent offences in 2012 and 2013 (though admittedly middle-of-the-pack in 2014 and 2015, both years when he lost his starting QB for long stretches). Wikipedia says he hasn't worked since 2015, wonder if he's retired?

My opinion of him has actually risen a bit. When he had the chance to drive us for the go-ahead points, he drove us for the go-ahead points. Can't teach clutch. The mistakes were unfortunate and cost us a couple field goals and ultimately the game but you gotta hope that a bright young guy like him can clean up his game.

not really. the NRA's mindset is that the solution to the gun problem is more guns. and it's a show of force that even though America is turning into a free-fire zone they can still push their agenda. it's going to bite them someday, though. was watching the evening news here in Seattle -- Labor Day is a huge festival time here, with Bumbershoot and PAX and half the town leaving for Burning Man -- and they spent most of their opening slot talking about the security arrangements at the various events. Not the headliners or the festival-goers or whomever, but instead how they were planning on preventing gun violence. it's ******* sickening.

As other folks say, the legit streaming apps are almost certainly a better option if that works for you, only way the gray-market streams are better is when you find one without commercials, which I haven't seen for awhile.

Turnovers. Turnovers. Turnovers. DL feasts, getting pressure from rushing 3 and 4. Medium-sized Chris runs first, passes later, makes more mistakes than Nichols would but fewer than Fajardo does. I don't think this is going to happen, I think we are in tough against a Rider team that almost always plays over their heads on Labour Day, but this Bomber team feasts on adversity so I am hopeful.

This was a pretty great game. Montreal is the most exciting team to watch in the CFL right now and Toronto always looks like they're just about to turn the corner.

Finally getting to watch this ... damn, Mike Miller looks like he's shooting a hostage video in his Touchdown Atlantic promo. "Do not attempt to rescue us ... we are being treated well."

We're down our QB1, our WR1, a couple of starting guards, a couple of starting DLs, a starting halfback, and now our MOP tailback. On paper we're doomed, but crazy stuff happens on Labour Day and the Riders will ln coming in fat and happy after dumping Ottawa. We got em right where we want em, go blue.

Those slants the Riders like so much will be opportunities for that Hall play where we drop a DE to cover that lane. Wonder if Kongbo has any hands?

check out this beauty block by Bighill on the Rios pick six. Ball is tipped, Gable standing around, Bighill and Rios are barely in the frame, but they get on their horses... Rios grabs the ball, Gable is still kinda ambling around, but he's in position to touch Rios down... Nope. Bighill runs past Gable, spins 180 degrees around at full speed, gets both hands on the only guy who can make the tackle. And so... Just love watching these guys rally to each other. What a team.

yeah I saw that too, the way he was moving I thought the spotter was gonna demand the concussion protocol, but nothing came of it. Hope he's ok.

My HH took a regular turn on the DL, including on the 3-man front with Kongbo and Big WJ, and he did not look out of place despite having zero elite football training prior to this season. On Rios' pick-six, he pancaked the Eskie LT, crashed the pocket, and rendezvoused with McCallister at the QB. And late in the second quarter, his pressure forced a rare Edmonton 2-and-out. After that play, Suitor said that Harris overreacted to the pass rush, that he was "feeling pressure that's not there." Ladies and gents, my HH tonight is Thiadric "Not There" Hansen. Honourable mentions to Edmonton 41 and 43, who gave us the winning TD by dinking out with some boneheaded penalties. That team is definitely taking the personality of its coach. Can't generally win a game getting outpassed 5 to 1 without a huge break, and that play was ours. Dishonourable mentions to everyone involved in the attempted explanation of the (roughing? contacting?) the kicker noncall.

Will they knock anything off the ticket price if you wear a Romulan uniform to the games? I kid, I kid. I might go to a Dragons game just to check it out, esp. if there's some ex-CFL players to follow there. Was just in San Diego and every second ad on my phone was for San Diego State Aztecs football ... "we're staying to represent San Diego!" they all said. As an old Wpg Jets fan, I really feel for these great football towns that the NFL is crapping on .. but then can't feel too bad for St Louis since you have a Stanley Cup as a consolation prize...
