  1. Montreal not a good enough team to get away with giveaway TDs like that.
  2. Yeah, the new commentator sounds pretty good. VA Jr looks like a young QB -- one play everything is crisp, the next he's throwing a floater into 4x coverage..
  3. Really pulling for a Montreal win here. K. Jones returning that program to respectability would be a great thing to see.
  4. MBT out there like Kerwin Bell, putting up some serious garbage yardage tonight.
  5. man, that's the mark of a baaaad team, going 2-and-out after a gift turnover like that because a receiver can't snag a well-placed pass.
  6. Argos one of the worst CFL teams I've ever seen -- they're like a jeep with four flat tires and a pound of sugar in the gas tank. Still I've got worries that if Bombers get cautious on O and let em hang around the game could be much closer than expected.
  7. Huh, Jeff Hecht targeted only twice? Are teams never throwing at him? Or are we hiding him somehow?
  8. TiCats get Stanbacked last weekend and yet somehow 5/6 of the cfl.ca writers picked them to beat the Stamps? I don't get it.
  9. The one thing I really notice in terms of player skill level between the two leagues is that the NFL tackling seems way better. I notice many many more broken tackles in the CFL. I dunno, this might be because of the smaller field, making it easier for the D to rally to the ball since they're not as spread out -- but my impression is that most one-on-one situations in the NFL result in a tackle, whereas in the CFL it's not nearly as sure a thing.
  10. Hey, here's an interesting thing I read in, of all places, a Friesen column: funny/weird thing was, we lost both those games. Man, the 2005 Bombers were a brutal team.
  11. Streetheart or GTFO
  12. yeah, this is a great thread title, nice work
  13. Gifted a turnover at a critical time, let it slip away. Just a bad, bad, bad team.
  14. real interested to see what Franklin does -- I don't think he's as bad as we saw against Hamilton, I don't think he got a lot of help from his OL in that game.
  15. yup, that's the one. total clutch play, bringing it when it matters.
  16. The one tackle he had was pure motor tho -- he was the first guy downfield, he got picked up by the blocking and was pushed well out of the play, then he giddied up and ran down the returner from behind. Love seeing guys make plays like that, it's like watching a DT make a tackle on a pass 20 yards downfield.
  17. y'know ordinarily I'd be down with that but that Ticat-Argo game was so bad that I wish they'd just stayed with the Ricky Ray interview through the entire second half so at least they could reminisce about Argo highlights.
  18. I would rather live a decade with Mike Kelly as the Bomber coach than a single season with Tim Burke. That 2009 team beat some quality teams and at his best Bishop was electrifying -- he had a couple 400+ yard games down the stretch where he was hurling the ball all over the damn field and simply couldn't be stopped. Plus you had the big Fred Reid game in there too. Sure Kelly was a psycho but his teams put up a fight, unlike Burke's.
  19. Hecht plays DE too!
  20. Whenever I hear Charles Nelson's name I think of this guy:
  21. BC's snapping is slow-motion horrible, looks like Dom Picard is back out there.
  22. Liked last year's road unis better.. those new Lions jerseys are pretty sweet. but yikes, orange pants..
  23. what's just amazing/magical to me as an semi-old guy is that almost all of these places ... Iqaluit, Qikiqtarjuaq, Belen NM ... have google street view coverage. Nothing for Mary River, but according to google maps, there aren't even any streets in Mary River. love taking google maps vacations.
  24. and now that pick off a ball that was lagging the receiver badly...
  25. what I wanna know is are the Trews ready to go?
