  1. Nichols threw his second pick six right before halftime, and Streveler played the whole second half. When should O'Shea have pulled Nichols in the LDC? You don't think Bennett can make the team on merit alone?

  3. nice post! deep cut cuts deep!
  4. What a great story, thanks for sharing it!
  5. Finally finished watching it tonight, I like the flippy guys/gals best and there was plenty of that, so I was happy. Really dug the joshi event, hope that AEW keeps pushing that. I've seen the Lucha Bros on TV a lot and live twice, I'm a big fan of those guys, and it was great to see them against a team that can go as good as they can, maybe even better -- most matches I see of theirs, they're slowing down because their opponents can't match their speed. It's a weird match when Pentagon is the slowest guy in the ring. Wasn't so much into the big name matches otherwise, after the relentless pace of the earlier matches, the main event felt a little slow for me.
  6. a) Which districts? Name them. b) If there was so much voter fraud, then why did the Pence/Kobach commission disband without finding any? c) Trump said that millions of people voted illegally in 2016, costing him the popular vote. Now, Trump exaggerates, so let's say that it was actually only a million people who voted illegally. However, a conspiracy to have a million people vote illegally would be a conspiracy involving a million people. Like, the entire province of Manitoba. Do you think the entire province of Manitoba can keep a secret for three years? So then, where are the whistle-blowers? How did the vote-stealing democratic party keep all of those million people from blowing this thing wide open on Fox News? How did the democrats keep all million of them from contacting the 2017 voter fraud commission, which was very eagerly casting about for tales of voter fraud? I gotta say, again, these supervillain democrats of your imagination are way more capable than the ones we have in reality. more's the pity.
  7. The young man in Winnipeg with the Jim Zorn jersey is my all-time fave. No way that kid was alive when Jim Zorn was a Bomber.
  8. you're right, but I will always treasure the Harris run in the 4Q where Paddy Neufeld came out his stance like a rocket and was eight yards downfield before Harris even crossed the line of scrimmage ... he snowplowed Cameron Judge to the sideline, pancaked him out of bounds for good measure, and then celebrated with some salty words. definitely in the top 10 reel for 2018.
  9. I said the same thing last year -- after all the hard miles he ran in 2017, and him being on the wrong side of 30, I was sure that in 2018 he'd start aging out of being an every-down back. But damned if he wasn't trucking even harder in 2018!
  10. This is a lazy answer but I'm gonna say I am pumped to see Andrew Harris back on the field. The dude is just such a joy to watch. Remember in that win against Calgary, when he took a 1-yard toss from Nichols, straightarmed the first tackler, got to the outside, spun away from yet another tackler, and powered to a first down on a play that looked like an easy sack? It's around 1:15 of https://www.cfl.ca/2018/10/27/recap-winnipeg-29-calgary-21/
  11. I just watched that game, and I'm pretty sure we could have won it with Brock at QB. BC had to start Tim Cowan -- DeWalt the bomber-killer was injured -- and Cowan played like hot garbage against our fired-up D. We definitely did not face BC at their best on that day.
  12. I get all the foreshadowing that Dany is a mad queen. I get that she believes she'll never be loved and that terror will have to be the thing that keeps her on the throne. What I don't get is why, at that moment, she turned. What was going through her mind when she was perched on the wall, staring at the red keep? So I buy her heel turn, in a way, but also I don't really buy it, it didn't feel ... earned.
  13. Super cool redo of the very first Star Wars lightsaber duel. Really captures Vader's rage and Obi-Wan's desperate exhaustion.
  14. I'll always remember the 2005 Grey Cup -- the best football game I've ever seen live, a glorious shootout, a showcase for the league, and Ray was front and center. Thanks for a great career sir, and good luck to you in your next act.
  15. I tried downloading that on my phone, and it crashed my browser.
  16. NASA has released a new Hubble image. It's composed of 7500 exposures taken over 16 years. Some 256 thousand galaxies are shown in the image, which from Earth's perspective, is about the size of the moon. The most distant galaxies are shown as they were just 500 million years after the Big Bang. http://hubblesite.org/image/4492/news_release/2019-17
  17. Cersei reminds me of last year's Vegas Knights, lying in wait while the Jets and the Predators beat the ever-loving bejeezus out of each other. Tho the Targaryeans still have at least one dragon and I don't know if The Platinum Blonde Romulan has an answer for that.
  18. yeah, my impression was that the Night King brought the storm to bollix the dragons, they were roasting the **** out of the zombies when suddenly the blizzard rolled in. but don't take my word on it, I was just squinting at the screen and trying to parse the swirl of midnight blue and coal black pixels.
  19. My impression watching the episode was that Bran was warging to draw the Night King out to play, since the whole plan depended on the NK making a big run for the Godswood. I figured everyone who was at the end of their plotline would be dead, so I called Jorah and Theon and the flaming sword guy dying. I expected there'd be a shocking death that would abort or reconfigure a plotline, but nothing like that happened, so yeah I'm kinda with you itchy. But on the other hand, they've only got three episodes left so they gotta get this thing tidied away and concluded, probably no time for any big plot swings. Loved the Arya and Lady Mormont bits and the callback to Arya's pre-Faceless sword training.
  20. I thought it was your average Marvel movie: pretty entertaining but it didn't blow my mind. Civil War and Into the Spider-Verse are still my favorite Marvel movies. My favorite bits in Endgame were the second-act heist scenes, especially the Cap stuff in the elevator and the Cap-vs-Cap bit, those were great. Banner coming up meh when he was trying to hulk out was a great moment too. I thought the big battle at the end was a little busy and not as great as the Civil War fight scene at the airport, which for me is like the gold standard of superhero battles, with everyone given a chance to showcase their own unique kind of awesome.
  21. Yeah, I hated how Lucas did this with the Luke / Leia / Han love triangle.
  22. Anyway, enough trolling out of me, I thought TLJ was weird and decent but I can understand how it might frustrate people who want different things from Star Wars than I do. The thing I am stoked for now is The Mandalorian. The cast looks great: Pedro Pascal (the Red Viper from GOT) in the lead role, with Carl Weathers, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring from Breaking Bad) and Werner Herzog as an old Imperial slimebag.
