  1. The depth chart. Nelson and Lankford are in Adams' spot. Couture and Gray in Chungh's spot. Dressler listed as a backup behind Washington. there's 22 internationals listed, so two will be left off the game day roster. Guessing that's Lankford and Dressler. O'Shea mentioned he wanted to see Wild do some long snapping...
  2. The good news is that the Spokane County sheriff forwarded the holy war manifesto to the FBI. Who knows how seriously they're taking this stuff, though, with that terrifying column of refugees marching through southern Mexico... Googling back on the Spokane sherrif, a guy named Sheriff Ozzy, the dude is well acquainted with crazy fundies and militias -- in 2011, a white supremacist tried to bomb the MLK Jr. parade in Spokane with a serious-ass fragmentation bomb, one seeded with rat poison to prevent wound coagulation. To bring it home for Winnipeggers, Matt Nichols' college, Eastern Washington, is in Spokane County just south of Shea's legislative district. (of course, not saying that Nichols is part of any of this bullshit, just laying out some geography)
  3. Today in dipshittery: Idaho school teachers made a "border wall" costume while others posed dressed as Mexicans with giant sombreros and mustaches behind it. https://www.idahostatesman.com/news/local/education/article221015995.html Their district is about 10% Hispanic kids.
  4. Trump's people do fear, they don't do numbers. 3500 refugees 1000 miles away might as well be the entire host of Genghis Villa pressing up against the gates of Nogales, their catapults bombarding Phoenix with dynamite and the corpses of pestilent cattle.
  5. woops, yeah, my bad.
  6. Bomber roster (https://www.bluebombers.com/roster/) is lagging the reports I've seen that have Spooner moved to active, Chungh put on an injured list, and Gray set to play Saturday. I wonder what combination of Couture, Spooner, and Gray lines up for us on Saturday? Guessing that Couture takes Chungh's spot, Gray is the sixth man, and Spooner the odd guy out? We normally only game-roster 6 OLs.
  7. Nothing but upside for Poop here .... this move worked out great for Terrence Jeffers-Harris.
  8. Dressler's consecutive receptions streak will be fine even if he doesn't play, it's survived lots of missed games so far. WD7 is gonna be huge for us in the playoffs. Guy is a threat everywhere on the field, even between the tackles. He's 100% veteran pro, he's not gonna rust up if he takes a game off. Let him take a veteran week this week. I'd sit Harris too unless he's got a cash bonus riding on the rushing title -- if he does, then get him his eight yards and chain him to his bike. He's done so much for the team, don't mind seeing the team give him a little back. Or, better yet, sit him and pay the bonus anyway. Adams too, sit that guy down. We've got Lankford, let him run wind sprints on the boundary all game. No way we win any playoff games without both Dressler and Adams healthy.
  9. And this after a week featuring three terror attacks by white dudes.....but I guess those white dudes didn't target OUR PEOPLE.
  10. This long twitter thread looks at "eliminationism" -- the portrayal of one's political enemies as subhumans. spolier: attacks on immigrants, black people, Jewish people, LGBTQ folks, ethnic minorities are intrinsic to American politics. https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1057678153252929536.html
  11. I think that detailed position by position analysis breaks down when it comes to the Riders. They win games they have absolutely no business winning, and that makes them dangerous. Seriously, a 12-6 record from a team with a busted Collaros and the erratic semi-talent Brandon Bridge at QB? And with Canadian depth that looks like the 2013 Bombers? No denying that Chris Jones made some chicken salad in Regina this year. GO CFL
  12. per Trump, it's the synagogue's fault for not having armed security. Because that's America in 2018: if places of worship aren't armed camps, then they're getting what they deserve. Besides, there were good people on both sides.
  13. fair enough ... better to say that it's the first time in a long time we've beat Calgary in a game that mattered to both teams ... last year the Stamps had already wrapped up first and they started Buckley, who was awful.
  14. I am super pumped today because yesterday was the first time we've beaten Calgary in a game that mattered to both teams since the Mike Kelly era. 2017, we beat them in the final week, but they'd already sewn up first and started Andrew Buckley, who was terrible. 2014, we beat them in the Robert Marve snow bowl game, but we'd already been eliminated and they'd already clinched 1st. 2009, we beat them in Week 2. We won an onside kick to start the game, Sidiq Shabbaz beast feasted, and Stefan LeFors threw a couple TD passes.
  15. His first half in the 2016 semifinal against BC was pretty great. Still grumpy we let that one get away...
  16. This is the first time we've beat Calgary in a game that mattered in a long, long time. HH to Hecht -- I groaned when I saw we were playing a replacement safety against BLM and I was anticipating eating some big time pain down the deep middle of the field .. but didn't hear his name called a lot by TSN.
  17. This is beautiful. A print of this would look so good in my living room....
  18. Wow, this is a great highlight reel -- brings back a lot of great memories from my first five years as a bomber fan. Thanks for posting it
  19. Great response! Thanks TUP.
  20. Yup, in Seattle. thanks for offering to answer questions! Here's the main one: how tightly is a match scripted? do the wrestlers know all the moves they're going to do ahead of time or are they improvising sometimes?
  21. So I wasn't really a wrestling fan for the first 46 years of my life, but my wife and I just fell hard for Lucha Underground, we've been binging it on Netflix for the past few weeks. We're just hitting Ultima Lucha Dos now. And I hear from my friends that our local promotion, 3-2-1- Battle, is pretty great so we're gonna check that out. I have a ton of questions about how wrestling works from the inside, if people don't mind me asking 'em here.
  22. Rachid Taha, Algerian rai-rock fusion performer, died yesterday at 59. He was most well-known in North America for this song, which was featured on the Black Hawk Down soundtrack. I saw him live about a decade ago and it was one of the top five shows of my life. Dude and his band tore the place up.
  23. I think punters are getting better at placing their kicks. You look at long kick returns, most of them happen when the kick lands between the hashes. Today, punters kick the ball between the numbers and the sidelines, exactly deep enough for the cover team to arrive just after the ball does. I bet if someone charted it out they'd see that the majority of big punt returns happen when the punter outkicks the coverage and puts it in the middle of the field.
  24. Growing up in the eighties, I thought awesome Canadian slotbacks were a Bomber birthright, from House / Poplawski through Alphin / Wilcox. Man it would be awesome if Petermann and Wolitarsky hit those heights.... Petermann wore 71 in training camp, shoulda kept it, that number looks good on a Canadian receiver.
  25. not posting much now morningbigblue not as fun when team is slumping
