I think we might have to drop the idea of Shay being a player on D soon. He's getting passed quickly here. He's kind of a tweener. Probably really needs to be MAC in this era. Hasn't really jumped off the page in preseason yet either year.

The real problem isn't paying Kenny Lawler 300k a year or not. The problem is our US scouting has been the absolute shits going on 5 years. Can't win sustainably like that. Yeah we can go buy free agents, like Broxton, Ceresna, pay someone like Lawler. The fact we can hardly even find good US players let alone impactful ones basically since Schoen, Holm is a major problem. You win when you find those guys. You could pay Lawler and he could break his arm or drive drunk, not renew his visa or whatever and not be playing anyways. You need a steady stream of good players to win. When we had that, we won. Now we're grasping at being a 9-10 win team.

Nothing you've said in this discussion makes any ******* sense and the lack of countering with something you think speaks to what you say wasn't discussed makes it just that much more pointless.

All of those numbers speak to usage. The context is there in terms of targets. He gets more passes directed his way than anyone else on the field. In terms of stats, the only way for a receiver to get catches and yards is to be targeted. What numbers do you think give context to usage?

Explain. Is it a mystery that the guy with the most targets gets the most yards? That's the context. How did Hamilton's offense perform when it mattered?

Really depends what the situation is. He has very limited upside, but has enough experience that he doesn't **** his pants if you put him on the field.

Those DL were both injured too. Honestly think the bigger problem here is the culture around "injuries" and missing practice but it's not Bomber specific, kind of more of a Late millenial/Gen Z problem. Like all these new guys see the big dogs hanging out on the sideline and move to join them instead of competing. Wonder if they get it when they get cut. Or sometimes if there's advantage given to guys who flash but are consistently not out there (well I feel like I can answer that one, YES, especially for a spot no one else has really jumped on).

Anyone watch Calgary play last year after July? VAJ is awful. It's not a mistake that every team he's on is always in a hurry to replace him.

Stuart was all over the field. The processing is just a step behind but he’s always in the right leverage and he’s always the guy finishing plays at the ball run or pass when he’s on the field. Contrast to a guy like Kelly who is indecisive, too often in wrong leverage as ball is moving out or up field even at year 3, play is always going by him. He can run fast in a straight line but has no football skills physically or mentally to succeed at this level. When it comes to who gets on the roster…..Stuart will be a great special teamer and the sky is the limit on D. I think he’s probably the best WIL/MAC prospect on the field today. But he was playing half in this one.

Singer was pretty explosive. No other American receiver (outside of veterans) looked like they knew what the **** was going on out there.

Perkins and Elgersma both bring hope for the short and long term IMO. Don't expect Perkins to be much of a passer but think he'll have a big role and can run stuff for him. Elgersma has the pro arm. Be nice to see him with some receivers maybe next week. He kind of missed all our better Americans. Singer was in after, White in before.

The last couple D Line groups had a real hard time getting off blocks other than Reese. Harris, Pace and the rookie Canadians, Munier-Bailey.

The whole point of that route is for the QB to put the ball at the back pylon so the receiver can make a play. It's a fade. Perkins never sets his feet and has no base. He's just chucking from his shoulder, nothing on it.

Yeah that's going to be his problem. Too easy to force guys like that to sit in the pocket and make mistakes at this level. Honestly haven't seen many QB's make it as far as he has with mechanics that poor but everyone looking at him as being such a run threat.
