  1. Davis Alexander's hamstring may never recover from Tiger Shanks reps.
  2. Milanovich hasn't won a playoff game in his past six seasons as a CFL head coach. He's got a terrible relationship with a lot of his players. Very up and down, kind of personality that is not direct, cold and passive aggressive. Not really on my list if you want to win. I really think he's suited to running a QB room and really looks at the rest of the role leading a team with disgust. But he's got the same issues in that role too with the human side of the job.
  3. Miller made two hall of fame hires and that's really all he's had to do on the football operations side so far. He could bat .500 and we could still end up in a mess. It's hard to build a staff. It was hard for O'Shea who is a hall of fame player and now a hall of fame coach. Obviously WFC is much less of a **** show than it was, but different people will have different draw in terms of their ability to build out both personnel and coaching side. How does Miller know if he made the right hire/hire(s) or not? He was patient with Walters and O'Shea. Will he be patient enough with the next round with an organization that is used to winning? Will he be too patient in a bad situation relying on his past experience with two hall of famers? There's the appeal of novelty that something new will be better. The odds of that are extremely slim. Same as with the QB's. Yeah, **** it, throw some random QB out there and see what happens.
  4. You can't really separate O'Shea and Walters if you're trying to play the blame game.
  5. Yeah should give a chance to someone new like Jeff Reinebold or Tim Burke.
  6. That particular call is one of the best examples of why "the call on the field" should count for zilch when it comes to replay. There's not a single ref on the field in position to make a call on that play in that spot on the field through the bodies. I have a really hard time definitively going either way on it. In the next frame from that freezed shot his lower arm is under the ball. Seems like it's basically in his control. But it is moving.
  7. Fitting that BC's D...worst in the league by a long shot...choked the game away. Harris threw 6 passes on the winning drive and not a single one was defended by BC. Duncan-Busby dropped one, the rest were pitch and catch all the way to the endzone.
  8. BLM was awful in the 2nd half of this season. A lot of yards between the 30's and a major struggle to consistently score points.
  9. Are you talking about the 2nd last time BC had the ball? They still needed 3 first downs to ice the game. Sask had a timeout. They called a pass on 2nd and 6 when they needed that first down and 2 more to not give the ball back around 1 min. 2:35 when they ended the 1st down play. Way too early to just try to sit on the lead. There were literally 3 possessions after this. Needed first down. The final time they had the ball they ran twice. Sask used timeout after 1st down play.
  10. 30 minutes of football around 4 hours of corporate Canada butt munching.
  11. God like 5 BC players just standing and watching with dead feet. Only guy on that side of the field moving was the Sask receiver.
  12. Sask O basically showed up for 10 minutes in this game. So if they lose, they know who to blame.
  13. Sask really needs a big turnover. Harris can hardly put 4-5 plays in a row together.
  14. Wow. Kicking the FG there is a real loser decision. Put the game fully in BC's hands.
  15. I honestly can't believe anyone is interested in Kent Austin in a head coach or GM role or that he'd be interested in that job again after his Hamilton stint. Feels like Naylor just listed names he knows when I saw that. Didn't feel overly credible. The only one I actually believe is O'Shea.
  16. Can't believe Hamilton didn't challenge for PI. Major game changing play.
  17. Brutal non call PI on Dequoy there.
  18. Too bad he doesn't have pro level hamstrings.
  19. Tiger Shanks more like Tiger Stanks.
  20. AI will be the end of humanity.
  21. Last hurrah of CFL games played under Canadian Football rules before they move to modified American Football.
  22. It's pretty bad. We don't have a single OL I'd rate as "good." Canadian depth on O is basically a 29 year old tailback and a 32 year old receiver. We're winning right now by 1 of 3 ways or a combination: elite special teams/D turning ball over or scoring points and basically shutting teams out, Collaros playing unconscious. We don't have anything consistent on O going on almost 3 full seasons. Our D is also crazy inconsistent.
  23. I would say the only two relative newbie head coaches in waiting at this time in the whole league are Noel Thorpe and Jarious Jackson. Big issue with Thorpe is that he has a short shelf life with his players. Not fatal on D but he doesn't tend to last long and nor do his players. Hard to run an organization like that since you have to maintain relations with a QB at least and your star Canadian players. You would also need to build a great offensive coaching staff around him. Not sure he's capable of that, and if he has the pull to bring in some of the guys that would be that, great OC, strong receiver/RB coach and QB coach. Jackson will want to control offense which always diverts a coach from running the whole team. He did ok in Edmonton. Takes a great coach to balance all of that. Marc Mueller will get lots of hype too. He's kept the Riders O competitive usually with major OL issues, QB issues. Developed a great receiving corps as positional coach in two places, OC. Young guy with limited reach though who will have a tough time building out a staff. It's really tough to build a staff now. A good friend and colleague of mine who has coached at every level in this country including CFL guest coach has been in demand from CFL teams as a positional coach but they offer him half of what he makes as a schoolteacher. So it's been a hard no. Coaches can make more in a real job or doing private work with prospects than they can make as a CFL assistant. You have to be really willing to work to build up that resume making no money to be a head coach where you can actually make some money. Not great for any potential CFL coaches with families and bills to pay.
  24. Khari Jones is too busy booking ads for boner and heart meds.
  25. Eli has started and been the 6th OL for 5 seasons. He's played a ton. He played over half of the playoff game you just watched.
