  1. Interesting fact about Edmonton last year... They had the #1 offense by points per game, yards per game and rushing yards per game and yards per carry with MBT starting. They dropped to 8th in points, yards and yards per carry when Ford started. I'm quite happy they've gone "all-in" on Ford. Good luck to them on their quest to finish higher than 4th in the division with him.
  2. Ask Korey Banks about the FIFO origin story.
  3. Streveler is a free agent with 2 torn knee ligaments.
  4. He's played a substantial amount in 3 games since his knee injury and in one of those games he tore his achilles....so yeah, every other game.
  5. Masoli's joints are failing him. If he wants to be more of a 3rd QB/QB coach I'd consider it. But you need another guy who can reasonably play if you bring him in. Ottawa was a good spot for him with Crum too. Personally I'd be interested in Stevens from Calgary to be a run weapon. And then decide if Wilson is worth developing further. They don't really have to decide that until training camp, and if they want to keep 4 QB's around, use the injured list to do it. I'd keep someone like Dolegala as our actual backup passing QB.
  6. Probably not enough to lock him in a starter though. Could easily add another guy at 350 to compete. That's basically total compensation they were already paying him and MBT. Also had the guarantee on Cornelius.
  7. Would be pretty easy to do better at LB next year. Find a guy who can play WIL. Guys we cut went nowhere. Petrishen is like 30.
  8. Nah Wade Miller's son and nephew were both really good players. His son is at Guelph, nephew stayed at U of M. His son is a solid MLB but was insanely athletic for WHSFL. Easily could have played tailback.
  9. BC just re-signed 3 guys that they cut in camp and didn't keep around much during season. Pool is a lot shallower with expanded NFL rosters and no restrictions on practice rosters plus increased pay.
  10. Same amount of Americans and Canadians on the roster. Who is an American guy they are holding back?
  11. The biggest issue here with the team starting to crumble is that they aren't really finding guys on the US side who make a difference. Look at receiver/running back/receiver. We had 20 guys in camp and the only one who ended up not being a total dud was Ontaria Wilson, who is an average talent level CFL receiver. Rush end. WIL LB. Kicker/punter (Globals included who are mostly playing in US). They've been great at finding DB's and found Schoen. They've hit some home runs but also had some major whiffs. Need more singles and doubles.
  12. Yeah really only had one guy starting this year who was our own first rounder in Dobson. Most of the Canadians they've built around have been 2nd round and below.
  13. Can't overstate how big of a loss Goveia is. Not many around with his knowledge, connections and abilities across Canada. Sort of feels like this era is coming to an end.
  14. Zack Williams is the guy you tamper for. Local kid, still lives here. Easy top 5 Canadian OL in the league today, in his prime. There's your RG for the next 7-8 years.
  15. Neufeld is getting worse and worse in pass pro. Lots of chicken wings and shoulder checks. Doesn't get his hands on many people these days. Toronto ate him alive. Montreal ate us alive on the whole, we played 1 good quarter against them out of 8 this season. That's the kind of team you need to be able to handle to win the whole thing. If a guy like that is on the team next year we're not serious about winning. Dobson is terribly slow to get his feet moving in both run and pass. He's ok, and a bit more physically engaged, might be as good as anyone they can get in free agency. Should be pretty easy decision to focus on building out 3 Americans on the OL for next year short of Desjarlais being cut loose by Ottawa due to his salary or something.
  16. Based on how he acted at the end of the season he'll be toxic in that role. They'll have some better options of guys who can play and might end up winning a bit of a competitive situation. Like Maier.
  17. Actually looks pretty gaunt. Hopefully intentional and not health related.
  18. Lapo is nowhere near monetizing YouTube. I'm kind of wondering how long he will do it for. He does a ton of speaking, consulting and coaching clinics. That is pretty lucrative.
  19. It's been like 40 years since that was a real thing though too. Name a Bomber player you can remember in your lifetime who joined the team right out of a NFL camp in September....a guy who we didn't have before...and was an impact player right away. There's two I can remember in my life...Stegall and Orlando Bobo, although he hadn't played football in 2 seasons when they brought him up midseason. NFL rosters are also 85-90 deep with IR these days. That first layer of 250-300 cuts aren't signing a 3 year deal to come up to Canada, yeah they have an out if they get signed by NFL in the next February.
  20. Sure, but you're not going to fix that in September. You got a guy ready to play who is already well acquainted with your QB and offense on the street.
  21. Maybe, maybe not. Wheatfall was basically a void out there. Whitehead was busted up and can barely move. You have another reliable target that Collaros trusts. Maybe get 3-4-5-6 first down catches out of that guy. In our back to back with Sask Wolitarsky had 6 catches for first downs in those close games. Who took his place?
  22. Talking in general over the course of the season not the Grey Cup game specifically. Collaros and several of the rookie receivers could not get on the same page or took half a season to. It's not an easy plug and play spot. Schoen is the exception not the rule. I think if we had 1-2 more guys around he trusted we wouldn't have seen the offense stalling out as much. Like Bailey might be a couple years past his prime but a guy like Wheatfall out there was worse than useless. Midseason we know Schoen isn't coming back and even that Wolitarsky is probably not going to be available much if it all the rest of the way....crazy they didn't pull the trigger on Bailey.
  23. Goveia is a major loss, and a guy who would be a quality GM. Think McManus moving on would be good for us in terms of getting some new eyes in on the personnel side, especially in the US, but don't think he has a hope in hell of landing a GM job. He's like the Van Wilder of the CFL.
  24. Toronto has 8 guys within the box and 5 yards of the LOS on that play. Bombers have 6 blocking. It's in the Lapo breakdown about 20 mins in. That's a pull 100% of the time in RPO. Shitty route by Lawler and shitty throw by Wilson otherwise it's a pitch and catch TD at the back pylon. Really Demski was the only somewhat healthy vet outside of Lawler in the majority of games. Clercius started more than half the games. Crazy they didn't make a move on Bailey. We got eaten up by zone D because our receivers didn't know what to do and Collaros didn't trust them. Like you said, Wilson improved a lot. Wheatfall was useless all the way through.
  25. Interesting how easy all the RPO stuff worked both pass and run. Why would you run straight drop backs 9 out of 10 plays?
