  1. Yeah maybe. He's on the wrong side of 30 now. Eventually going to have a year with a lot of new blood here.
  2. Spends most of his time snooping young female TV reporters Instagram accounts.
  3. Pro football is entirely about next season. Brown will get a 3 year deal, but no one will be worried about placating a guy on a rookie deal who has barely started producing. Ford also has eyes on the NFL constantly. Ford also is a terrible passer which will limit his ability to score points/win games as defenses just let him sit in the pocket all day and try to make reads. See the games they needed to win to stay in playoff race back third of this season. Doubt Brown is interested in Edmonton or Montreal though because Jones and Maas ruin QB's lately. He'll have teams where the offensive staff has elevated guys to MOP type play interested in him being their franchise guy. Unfortunately for us those two teams (Calgary and BC) are in our division. Yeah Edmonton will be interested for sure. The way Ford plays too there's very little chance he avoids serious injury for a full season so they'll need someone else. Could easily do the Collaros (or Nichols) and Streveler type deal with Ford. Have a guy who can actually pass.
  4. Betts was not more impactful than a RB who plays the entire game with outstanding production to go along with doing everything like pass protection. How impactful was Betts in the Lions two losses to the Bombers that put his team on the road for the West Final? There's your tiebreaker.
  5. Experience being a loser and turning the ball over is pretty damn risky to move forward with.
  6. Caleb and Dane Evans are both in the 90s base, could earn up to 155ish, Dane Evans a touch more but he's nowhere near most of his incentives. Shiltz has a higher base with less incentives. Say Calgary dumps Maier and Dru Brown wants to go there. They are out $105,000 in 2024 if they have to cut Maier straight up, but realistically they can probably trade him because his base is only $210,000 with some incentives and roster bonuses on top of that. If Ottawa loses out on Brown grabbing someone like Maier to compete with Crum and Adams (both on rookie deals) would be a no-brainer. Basically replace Arbuckle with Maier, a little more cap eaten but not much. For BC, Adams is signed through next season with no guaranteed money. Easy for them to move on and grab a guy like Dru Brown for 3 years if this post-season goes nowhere for them. Hamilton, BLM has a $175,000 bonus January 15 on a $540,000 base and no guarantees. They'll be pulling the plug on that deal. There's a high probability of a QB carousel this year because of how bad QB play has been and how dissatisfied many teams are with their options. Dru Brown will have his pick of teams. The Bombers have leverage to let Brown negotiate early for compensation which will be important for teams that need to move out another guy either by release or trade to avoid bonuses.
  7. Well we know this isn't what happens when you have 3-4-5 teams involved. Arbuckle was simple because there were two teams in the QB market and one of them wanted the veteran. The only other person who will be a free agent and is a potential starter is Dane Evans. Based on recent performance, everyone's top choice will be Brown. There's pretty low level risk for teams like Sask, Ottawa, Calgary when their current starters can't win a game. It's not like we're talking about dumping a productive vet for a younger guy anywhere but here. Everyone else's QB situation is awful outside of Winnipeg and Toronto.
  8. Opening bid for Brown as a free agent is 450k per season for 3 years (some portion of that being roster and performance bonuses) with 250k guaranteed. Bombers will probably be able to squeeze some conditional picks out of teams to beat the market. What he ends up at will just be a matter of how desperate front offices and new coaches in Sask, Ottawa, potentially Hamilton are. How desperate Calgary is to get back toward the top of the table. How desperate BC is to finally get over the hump with a legit CFL QB. Montreal and Edmonton will kick tires but I doubt Brown will be interested due to their coaching staffs. And where Brown wants to play/live will be a huge factor. The only way he ends up back here is if something changes with Zach between now and January.
  9. Makes every throw, on or off schedule, from pocket, on the move, scrambling. A lot like Collaros before the injuries started with the ACL in 2015.
  10. Think of how mad people were basically until we won the 2019 Grey Cup that multiple 1st/2nd round picks were not traded just for the NEGOTIATION RIGHTS to Mike Reilly...who had less game experience and far worse results/stats coming off his rookie deal....now many of the same people shitting on Dru Brown as a potential star in the league.
  11. I mean if you love having a guy that can't pass but can bust off one big scramble a game while you win 5-6 games a season. Yeah Tre Ford is your guy. Realistically they can have both and move on from Cornelius. I don't believe Ford is a starter. I think he's a Streveler type player. Real nice complementary piece. But you need someone who can pass, especially if Ford can't develop it.
  12. Didn't see anything that would make me think Bailey won't be on the field after a 15 day layoff.
  13. Brown is a better QB than anyone 7 teams have for sure. There's no reason for teams to not look into making a move. BC is going to do something if they don't make Grey Cup this year. Sask clearly doesn't have a franchise QB. Edmonton doesn't. Calgary doesn't. Montreal doesn't. Ottawa doesn't. Hamilton has a raw rookie and two guys over 30 who have been injured repeatedly in the past 3-4 seasons.
  14. Yeah I think Cornelius/Maier contract will be opening bid for Brown. And I expect 7 teams in it unless BC pulls off miracle run to Hamilton. Obviously 4-5 teams are a lot more desperate. But for anyone thinking guaranteed money will keep teams out...they can trade most of the guys who have the guaranteed money, and even if they have to cut them it's $100,000 of an almost $6,000,000 cap. Say Calgary signed Brown. I'm sure they could deal Maier to Ottawa or Montreal, even Sask depending on what happens there.
  15. There hasn't been a QB free agency derby like there's about to be for Dru Brown in some time. Combination of what he's shown and how bad most teams are at QB right now.
  16. Can't imagine Dickenson come January February not being all over Dru Brown. Guy has outdueled your QB in your stadium in shitty conditions twice this season.
  17. Brown hasn't turned the ball over this season.
  18. **** we are going to get someone injured.
  19. I mean he could. Franchises have made those moves before. Buono moved Flutie to keep Garcia.
  20. Announcer at McMahon said Orange part of BOLO's name with a francophone accent.
  21. Look at Brown in comparison to Maier. If you're Dickenson, how are you not making an offer?
  22. Maier is happy he gets to play in a dome next week.
