  1. Murphy? Not even a factor in this discussion IMO. But I'm sure we could put him on for Johnson, have him play out at the field and dare the D to leave him uncovered. Charbonneau is already on so in your scenario you're short one Canadian. We're already down Feltmate who was a pretty big difference maker on teams, went from getting gashed the first couple weeks to what we have now....I don't think we play around too much with that unit when we don't have to. The worst thing O'Shea has always done is waste American spots. We've often had 1-2 guys who are backups who don't function on teams. At least Johnson gets on the field. We've had lots of receivers who stand on the sideline holding their helmet all night. I've got no gripe with Ayers. Solid player. Special teams is 15% of the game here. No issue with having guys who are backups and solid in that realm. Haba needs to get some hurries and stay disciplined. He's not the kind of difference maker that I'm making adjustments to the D for. The rotation right now between different fronts is a huge strength for this group to keep guys off balance. I hope they don't mess around too much.
  2. That was PI. You can't grab and hold with no position, no attempt to play the ball. That was a classic I'm beat with no help on top of this route desperation grab. The sell job was pretty weak though too.
  3. We aren't dressing extra Canadians so the ratio is a factor if you want to make that switch directly. Haba, Johnson, Karamoko are 3 guys we could easily live without. Reading Tait's story on Haba was quite disheartening. Sounds like a "give a good guy another opportunity" situation. Guy just isn't very useful in comparison to other options. I really don't know how Johnson stays on over Case, even just as a receiver. Johnson is halfway through this season, has no idea how to navigate zones to make himself an option and gets force fed screen passes where he can get yards so long as there's no resistance from the D. Case looks like a technician to me when he's got on the field in the games when guys have been injured. That safety valve kind of guy we need without Wolitarsky or Bailey....the guy that can take advantage of the space the vertical threats like Lawler and Wilson, even Whitehead, open up.
  4. Every team in the West is just a little shaky on D. They’ve all had strong games, maybe aside from B.C., but they all have had games where they can’t make the stop to win it.
  5. 18 point swing off Lauther's foot in that game.
  6. Can't overstate how shitty of a play that was by Auclair. Sideline is your friend there. He gave Alexander all that space, stopped his feet and took out his other 2 linebackers pursuing.
  7. Auclair with terrible leverage plus a weak effort on the tackle...blocks his 2 teammates.
  8. The ruling on the field makes no sense so they can get the auto review. It's an incomplete pass.
  9. What the **** is Davis doing?
  10. With support and cooperation of the PA he'd have to exhaust the grievance and arbitration procedures outlined in the CBA. Then the PA could pursue a lawsuit on his behalf beyond that. If the PA drops him at any point in the process he'd be suing them and not the CFL first.
  11. Blatant horse collar on a QB there.
  12. Upper deck is nearly empty.
  13. I mean....it's pro sports and the only pro sport without guaranteed contracts. If you run foul of the team and league you're always on the chopping block. Says right in the SPC portion of the CBA that the Commissioner decides who is eligible to play. I don't see why Kelly can't file a grievance and try it out in arbitration if he feels he's completed the requirements of the initial discipline. Personally, I'm not sure how his return at all could jive with league policies on respectful workplace. There's no requirement to give him another chance to **** up.
  14. Houston got beat bad on two plays that were RB penalties too. He's not a good CFL DB.
  15. Too much time for that. Calgary's OL is a horror show.
  16. Easy for me. Move Haba on PR if you really want him or cut him. Leave Adams on the roster. Haba is a very borderline CFL player. We should still be beating the bushes for edge help. Adams and Woods have been quite impactful. Haba for Adams = weaker pass rush and weaker overall DL. If you get injured every 2-3 games you play yes you can lose your job to injury. That's happened to Haba. And then he steps up and bombs it downfield because the pocket isn't being collapsed.
  17. BLM was headed to free agency when he was dealt.
  18. Johnson is starting. Whitehead is returning.
  19. It's a bit different because they'd be locked into Adams BC contract due to the guarantee. Pretty rare that a QB in that situation is traded rather than released. Last one really was Collaros from Hamilton to Sask but with a restructure to lower his hard money. There's really 3 teams that could be interested and I'm not sure why they'd want to take on both the amount of hard money for VAJ and the guarantee in 2026.
  20. Operationally that franchise is still bleeding money. They've got big crowds when they've essentially paid them to come to see a concert with a football game.
  21. Stadiums are huge issue in Edmonton and Calgary. Hard to pull off what the Bombers have in those dated dumps. Amenities are shitty, seating areas are shitty. Way below expectations of this era. Think key part of planning for viability in both markets needs to be new facilities. If I'm the owner I'm literally saying this franchise dies without a new facility in public every chance I get.
  22. Karamoko and Cole split a lot of reps at WIL. Wilson and Gauthier split reps in the middle. Sometimes they had 3 of those guys on with Kramdi. This was the Montreal game. Bighill came back Week 2 and Gauthier has hardly played D since. Karamoko still got some D reps in Ottawa and Haba was out pretty early in that one so Cole got a lot of reps because they only had one true end in Jefferson so they went almost exclusively 30 and 50 fronts. That's when Wilson starting dropping down to the edge ineffectively. I'd guess you're maybe confusing Haba with Cole/Karamoko since they all wear numbers in the 40's?
  23. Huh? He played rush end. The only full game he played our D got toasted by Montreal. In large part because we had SFA for a pass rush.
