  1. Waste of a challenge and a timeout. Can't believe how careless coaches have been of late with the challenges.
  2. Adams showing why there aren't many 32 year old running QB's around. Gonna need 2 knee braces.
  3. 2 on very short fields after turnovers though. Think one just over 20 and other one about 30 yards after VAJ coughed it up.
  4. We need to get Jamal Parker on to get that kind of spark on our cover units.
  5. Riders make really good use of the nationalized rule. Basically sub their WIL off and have 2 SAMs on the field any passing down.
  6. Dolegala's got a gun. Surprised BC didn't really send wide pressure on either play, maybe 33 was supposed to but cut inside.
  7. The league as a whole does because teams are so locked into running the wedge play with QB's who have skills running option stuff from Pistol/Shotgun. Most of these guys coming into pro football today have literally never taken a snap under centre.
  8. I don't see Pigrome as some kind of messiah. In half a season as a short yardage QB him turning the ball over now a major factor in 2 Ottawa 1 point losses.
  9. One of the best ideas the XFL had was a “Team 9” that was essentially a league practice roster which was to develop both coaches and players who aren’t currently employed and to have players ready to sign with good scouting. Personally to me it’s a no-brainer for the CFL to do something like this to develop Canadians, Globals, QBs and give some younger coaches experience too. You have say the last 4-5 cuts from each team continuing to develop instead of going home and then when teams need to sign guys they are still around and easily accessible.
  10. Why would you try a Hail Mary from your own 35 yard line when your QB can only throw it to the other 35 yard line? Need to do a hook and ladder, pitch it around see if you can sneak one in.
  11. So if 5 out of 9 teams in the league have subpar rosters, you don't think better quarterbacking would push them ahead of the rest of that group? That's the point.
  12. Which is really no different than any QB. It's a team sport. The best QB on a bad team gets you 8 or 9 wins maybe. There's games every week where if one team had a QB they'd probably win. Edmonton-Hamilton was one this week. The Sask-Ottawa game, both Sask-Edmonton games. So yeah the QB can make a difference in pushing a team over the top to win, especially when you're replacing a QB who can't read anything and can't make 2/3 throws with someone who can do both.
  13. Chris Jones had Collaros in Sask with a far better defense than he has now. Did he make a difference?
  14. Walker we'd be really screwed. The ends I think they'd rotate Cole and Maruo as rush ends. They've been doing that anyway along with putting Bighill on the edge at times too last night in a bear front with 3 DT's. Calgary couldn't block 5 on 5 and their backs having to bounce so much freed up Wilson and Alexander to make plays. Was the best schemed game I've seen for our D this year. If they did that stuff in Ottawa along with the (more, because Willie still kind of freelancing a bunch) patient pass rush it's an easy win.
  15. Ottawa, Hamilton, Sask, Calgary, Edmonton he's their starter TODAY. How the **** can you say the guy is not ready? Do you watch the league at all? Of course a young QB has room to grow. The guy has all the tools and the mindset. There are always ups and downs and that includes the game conditions. Brown has won every meaningful game he's played in this league, 2 in relief when he came in with the Bombers behind, 2 as a starter. Only loss last year in BC when we sat most of our OL, Grant and others.
  16. After he outduels the starting QB in a place we couldn't win for 15 years. Even if Dru Brown doesn't take another snap this season he'll have 6 offers on the table to be a starting QB in this league next February.
