I don't think it really matters in our scheme. They are always in match coverages. Guys are jumping on routes not necessarily covering man and then making plays when the ball goes to them.

Yeah might eventually get there. Tough right now with injuries on D to manage ratio. Maybe can lock in 2 Canadians on D later in the season as it plays out, especially if Wallace doesn't grab the LG spot or there are injuries to Canadians on OL.

Pass protection has been getting worse and worse. Took them a long time to get going last season and we just got plain beat by Toronto's front every time we played them. OL and receiver are our two weak spots IMO, then edge rush.

Sask has 9 DL and 4 QB's dressed, 0 backup DB's dressed aside from Dalke who can't do much outside playing center field and Exume who can't even look functional in pre-season vs rookies in his 30s.

This is a disingenuous level of bullshit that's inspiring my ignore button. Last week the complaint was Sheahan couldn't "kick them out of trouble." Evans gets exactly that chance and hits a 31 yard punt out of bounds from his own 19. 16 yard net. Guy did sweet **** all to win the job whatever complaint you have with Sheahan is. Showed nothing that he's a capable CFL punter. And Joe Couch was awful for Sask too so not surprising they are scrambling for help.

Rourke would do well to be a top 4 QB in this league this season. The MOP hype is kind of silly.

I mean we PR'd Reggie White who looked pretty good, have Sterns and Dillon Mitchell active, one of whom won't likely be able to dress when we have to put together a game roster. All 3 of those guys are 750-800 yard receivers in this league in their careers so far (projected 18 games). It's deep. Probably missing the number of high end guys we're used to unless Wheatfall's pre-season carries into real games. Hamilton's next American receiver up is Josh Johnson. It's all hearsay on guys who've barely played until real games start.

Also can't touch QB's.

I think we'll have 2 Canadian DL, 1 Global and 4 Americans on for Game 1. Question will be where Lawson is at. Wouldn't be surprised if he's out the first couple games just to build up football activity to game pace....or to be as ready as he can for a regular season game anyways. Kelly and Makonzo both on 6 game. Hagerty out game 1 too. Only healthy Canadian DB we have is Hallett. Near certainty we dress 6 American DB's. Depending what the plan is for returns, Cam Allen might be the best bet for the 6th spot.

If you could get Rysen John to play a heavy, inside spot maybe. He’s been useless as a pro.

Interested to see which QB eventually is moved off the AR. Wilson has really plateaued based on the preseason games. Not very composed, hard to know execution but at least a few times where things didn’t operate smoothly to the naked eye when he was out there with QB Centre exchange, throwing to wrong guy on screen, ball not coming out quick when they were running more of that style offense in preseason for sure.

I don’t think that happened because he barely got any reps and only in the 2nd preseason game.

I mean the chances of cutting someone you paid bonus money to based on training camp is almost nil unless the guy runs afoul of the law or flat refuses to play. Did any free agent signings get cut around the league? Montreal cut a RB they paid $18,000 to, Toronto cut Carey, Hollins cut by Edmonton but only costs BC salary space.

Our entire defense aside from Jefferson Gauthier and Thomas has turned over since 2022. Kickers, receivers. Not sure the emotional reaction to cut down day is warranted. But I guess football is too boring.

Well they signed a pretty big number of free agents. Although all of those guys probably don’t deserve to make the team, like Stearns I personally don’t see a need/fit for. Mitchell has a track record so you’re hoping he can be the 1300 yard pace guy. White looked good to me in the home game. Also pretty good number of guys going into year 2. Like say a Wheatfall. I hope his pre-season dominance carries over…QBs seem to love him. I don’t think we want a pile of rookies starting…really searching for the depth to fill in when needed and take spots maybe next year when some others need to get paid. It’s easy for the rookies to look good because it’s like meeting someone for the first time…you see all the good and upside. We know the warts on the old guys and the excitement is gone. But not the best barometer for long-term success.

Last time we had a week 1 bye we swapped out half our DL and receivers of the guys who “made the team.”

Won’t make changes for injured lists until later in the week.

Dandy was way better in the games. I expect we will see him again here or somewhere else.

If you’re at this depth of worry, time to take a break. There’s plenty of long snappers around including Leroux. If they kept him you’d be complaining they kept a roster spot for a long snapper and cut someone else.
