  1. Start by using our American roster spots. 3 American OL when Vanterpool is back. I'd even try the guy they just signed in the interior if he's looking physical. We need someone/a few guys to drag the O into the fight. Don't think Brady will be that guy, he's busted up. Cam Allen should be in, likely boundary corner given who we have healthy. Might give Russ Dandy a call from camp get him a couple weeks of practice. We seem to be losing a DB a week to injury. Get creative with deployment. Woodbey should be ready to play. Use him at SAM/WIL...pop Griffin/Kramdi back to safety when we go 2 high. Woodbey might fill Ayres special teams spot and give us a lot more on D. Kelly should only be out there when we really need 7 DB's. Or use him at field corner or even kind of a blitzing dime style spot. Don't think he can process fast enough to be the guy responsible to support up top, even in cover 2/3. He needs to just have one job where he doesn't have to make many reads or decisions. IMO if we prioritize O and D a bit we have spots for 3 American OL, another American on D (even 2 if you swap out Ayres and another of the LB's for guys that would have roles on D, secondary and DL).
  2. Any single one of their receivers on Jake Kelly or whoever we play at field corner is a bad time. I'm hoping Cam Allen comes on. Kelly might be better off at field corner just given the task of managing the deepest outside route instead of trying to read into backfield and make decisions. He kept stopping his feet then trying to recover which was 3 deep balls, two catches, one for TD and his PI. Athletically I think Kelly is a good prospect (yeah he's in year 3) but the processing clearly isn't there yet at game speed. The most egregious roster management issue is that we're forcing a guy like Kelly out there when we only really need to play one Canadian on D. The DL guys don't kill us as much as is talked about, but putting a guy out there to just be a mark for the opposition in the secondary is not good. We've dressed 3 American LB's (aside from T Jones) to take about 70 reps in the past two games on D between them. That's a bit less than half the snaps on D. But we're dressing a secondary with no backups aside from our primary returner (who is not an outstanding nor experienced CFL DB) and using two Canadians in the secondary when we only need 1 on the entire D based on the number of Canadians we're starting on O. So....beef up the OL with Americans, bring in another receiver/playmaker...beef up the secondary or interior DL with an American. We can easily do two of these things. It's crazy how we're utilizing (or not) our American roster spots.
  3. They built a great team. As it’s aged they haven’t replaced a multitude of all-star players. Then it’s death by a million paper cuts with assignments being missed down after down, no spectacular plays and silly decisions around scoring or giving up points just piling on to the struggle.
  4. Yeah one of them the ball hit at the 8 yard line. He returns it 15 yards they are at the 25. So at best we’re conceding a point for 15 yards.
  5. Well at least we have something to build on.
  6. Once PornHub started getting shut down in a bunch of states.
  7. Self fulfilling prophecy. Gotta cut some of the low effort crew. Start with the receivers.
  8. If you replaced all those guys with rookies you'd have low six figures saved. So like basically the difference between signing Vaughters or starting a rookie DE there. Them being here doesn't stop them from signing other guys.
  9. Only if you can pay some roster spots $0. Math doesn't math if you're paying replacements.
  10. Honestly his takes on the games are way more accurate than Bauming's. Bauming sounds like what people complain Ed Tait is....all while say "just being objective."
  11. Bauming is way too much of a "other teams can make plays too" style analyst. Uses that as an excuse for horrifically poor Bomber play.
  12. Money not an issue there. If they sign a rookie they maybe save $20,000 in that spot. Stupid to let Lawler walk. If we want to complain about money...look at Mitchell. His money plus a rookie salary = Lawler. We have 2 starting receivers on rookie salaries anyways. No financial barrier to keeping Lawler.
  13. Yeah most of our position groups are losing to their opposite position group in any game. Our OL loses to the other teams DL, our DL has lost the battle most games, coming on a bit past couple weeks. Our receivers and DB's lose their matchups basically every game but Edmonton or BC.
  14. Well yeah they had time to get those points back...but why give them up for like maybe 10-15 yards of field position on a kickoff? It's not like a punt where the returner has way less time when he gets the ball. Vaval catches the ball and runs up the field he's got 20 yards clear...and that's if he doesn't beat anyone. So ball coming down at 8 yard line, should get out to 28-30. Give up 1, you get it at the 40. Poetic that they lose by 2 on the points they gave away for very little benefit. O'Shea is outsmarting himself.
  15. Think the problem is opposite RE veterans. Lots of all-star, all-time players who have faded and ended their careers, haven't been replaced. Lots of bodies here, not a lot of players.
  16. Not really. We lost a game in Toronto last year because of that too. He's always struggled with that wedge play. Great at running option stuff.
  17. The points all add up at the end of the game. D held Calgary to 4 FG's in 2nd half. We end a drive inside Calgary 10 and hand them 2 free points so our returner doesn't catch it at the 5 and probably take it to the 25-30....we get it at the 40 +1 point for Calgary. The points all add up at the end of the game.
  18. Underrated decision that cost the game...putting Strev back on short-yardage and just running wedge play. Cost us a likely TD drive.
  19. Literally going to lose off those rouges.
  20. **** man...no awareness of the ball there.
  21. Can't play 20 yards off when they are 25 yards out of FG range.
  22. ****...1 point but no time off clock and ball at 40.
  23. Be leading by 3 if we caught every kickoff.
  24. This is ridiculous. Even if he makes it Calgary has too much time.
  25. Clercius makes a block that's a 15+ yard gain. Oliveira looks like the Energizer bunny running out of juice.
