  1. Prukop had a role to play in terms of widening out the D and threatening the edge. Have no problem with him coming in to run some option run stuff. Guy should not be throwing the ball. Maybe in July or August, not in November when it's -4 and grip is damn near impossible on top of all his other shortcomings as a passer. That call is unforgivable. You use him as a running QB and you don't even really need the threat of him passing because all you're doing is using misdirection to create one vertical gap where Prukop or Oliviera or Demski get a shot 1 on 1 vs a LB or DB. Our gameplan did not utilize the run enough....and that's why we lost. It's why our O is struggling in playoffs generally. A ball you think is gonna go 35 yards is probably going to go 28 or 32 and that's why you can't be safe throwing the ball downfield in November.
  2. That kick was at the line, going left and no more than 6 feet in the air. It was maybe going about 10 yards further than it would have after it got blocked and way wide. The ball is pinned in the middle of the field and the kick over 7 yards is in the gap outside the LT already. Something was very wrong with the kick right off the foot. On paper Liegghio is a good kicker in all aspects. But he’s unreliable. It’s not just one kick, it’s not just two kicks. His punting was awful in that game including putting one right down the hash mark to set up a big return and the go-ahead TD. I can’t imagine a coach having a lot of trust with that player as in feeling confident putting him on the field really ever. To me it’s very similar to Hajrullahu’s final days here except the stakes were so much higher for Liegghio’s screwups. Maybe he needs to focus on one job and at the start of this year I would have said punting but now I might say placekicking because his punting was very erratic this year too.
  3. Maybe if we can play all the games in domes or Florida. A few reasons. Injuries is a big one. Next, Stanley Cup playoffs. To me the 14 game season showed me that 14-16 games is plenty. There are some teams that want more inventory and more teams that are having trouble putting 15,000 in the stands legitimately for the majority of their games. 16 games would be fine. For the most part the playoff races are done at 16 anyway.
  4. With our returner having a 102 yard TD.
  5. Zero interest in Oakman for me. He got moved around the field at will. The other DT for the Argos was killing us.
  6. They were on our 41 yard line…but it was 2nd and long
  7. About as retired as Matt Stegall and Calgary Jones are.
  8. Special teams was the source of most Argo points when we lost field position really bad on punt exchanges and kickoffs. Realistically if Bede has an average game we’re in pretty big trouble. Also gave up the big return to set up the winning TD, horribly placed punt and terrible decision by Parker to roll the dice to come inside to try to make tackle instead of keeping contain.
  9. Yes all those people heading to Alberta.
  10. Yeah we missed Bailey on those, or even really a screen game.
  11. I didn't mind the Prukop stuff as part of the run game, but there's no way I'm letting that guy throw a pass let alone 2 in this game. He's not Streveler. We did need him for the run game though to make the Argos actually defend the edge. We just haven't gameplanned the Argos well in years. They put a bunch of big DB's out there and challenge QB's to try to find gaps downfield with a nice pass rush too. We just keep running the same two guys on posts and corners and trying to make it happen.
  12. Collaros mobility looked fine to me. Think the bigger issue is the refusal/inability to check down into a quick passing game vs this Argo D that just sits back in deep zones for the most part in coverage. Saw late they finally got some of that going to Ellingson in that 5-7 yard range. Should have been there all night. Clearing routes and get ball to Demski under them for some YAC plays. Make Muamba cover the field.
  13. Great game? Not sure he really did anything. Tipped one ball that a QB under pressure (not from him) was throwing away and tipped another ball on Kelly. Think we need a lot more pass rush at that paycheque. We only got it when we went cover 0 rushing 6 which also exposed the secondary.
  14. I hope losing this game gives them some flexibility on making some changes. Our D lost the big play quality this year. We need some change across the DL. Jeffcoat might be the best player in the league but if he can't stay healthy he's not a huge factor. Jefferson I could take or leave at this point. Nice situational rusher but disappears most of the time, basically a non-factor in this game. The fact we had to blitz so much to create pressure put our D at constant risk downfield and is a huge departure from why the 19 and 21 teams were great. Need a few ballhawks. I like Parker as much as he made a big mistake on special teams tonight that was a big blow before the Argo TD drive.
  15. I mean time isn't a factor there to me. There's what, 9-10 minutes left at that point? So like 3-4 possessions each. If they did that in the first Q it's still stupid. Run Prukop on some zone read or option looks sure, but we're not going to put anything on his arm. We get a FG there and the game is like 95% a Bomber win. We get a touchdown it's 99%. Just can't waste possessions like that.
  16. Kicking game needs to be priority next year both ways. In general Liegghio had a good punting year, even all-star level. But I don't think you want to be -15 on kickoffs and -10 every punt exchange in the biggest games of the year. That's basically why we lost. QB play was awful both ways. We also needed Oliviera to handle the ball 8-10 more times.
  17. We clearly have no gameplan for the Argos for the past two seasons. If downfield passing doesn't work we don't change it up. That's Collaros blindspot. He will not play quick game. He's gonna stand in the pocket hell or high water. Hard as hell to beat heavy zone like that.
  18. I feel like if you had the ball 6 feet off the ground going between the left tackle and the next blocker when the ball is lined up dead centre there was a 0% chance that kick was going through whether blocked or not. But that's just me.
  19. Banks gets a ring for being an overall negative impact on his team.
  20. Embarrassing game for our coaching staff tbh. Had that game under control and blew the chance to end it.
  21. Sayles blows his block but Liegghio should have never been out there from 47.
  22. I'm not kicking this from 47. Keep O out there.
  23. Keep going for the endzone ffs.
  24. Speed things up here. You're not going to have a 5 second pocket.
  25. Collaros inability to run a quick passing game causes him to struggle immensely vs the Argos.
