  1. Wilson showed no ability to go vertical in pre-season. His average pass was less than 6 yards downfield in the home preseason game. The vertical stuff is the whole passing offense. Dolegala is clearly the better option immediately. Dolegala did alright with Sask considering they couldn't protect. His results were almost exactly the same in terms of stats as Harris last year with Sask. A team right at the SMS limit isn't looking to bring in another 6 figure QB when they already have almost $900,000 sunk in their top 2 QB's.
  2. Wow that Jefferson bobblehead is something. Generic African-American dude who looks nothing like Willie.
  3. Going to be a much tougher game defensively because MBT can hit every route on the field and Edmonton is loaded up to run the ball too.
  4. And lack of elite targets, vets, big targets. We switched to a receiving corps of 200 lbs plus dudes to a bunch of short skinny guys. Collaros has always shined with big dudes with his style of vertical offense. Think we've always had guys like Adams, Ellingson, Bailey in those 3-4-5 roles along with Demski and Wolitarsky. This year it's been Wilson...then elevated to 1-2, Josh Johnson, Wolitarsky in and out, dinged most of year. Demski has been 1-2 target most of season. Lawler and Schoen COMBINED have 400 yards receiving this year which is about 11% of our total passing yards this year.
  5. 4 previous games for Elks with MBT...9 TD passes...37, 35, 17, 47 points. Ford scored 1 TD and turned it over 4 times in less than 3 quarters. Starting Ford was a classic "if it ain't broke, don't break it." Maybe trying to sell tickets....but might have cost themselves a playoff spot to do it. Lots of ways to integrate Ford as a weapon to be a better team. Starting him ain't it.
  6. To a large extent you can only throw what opens up against the coverage. Edmonton drops 3-4 every single down and if it's 3 or less there's a cut cover in there too. Not much opportunity to bust off a corner route on them. Saw in second half a lot more routes where there were double posts for example to open up someone else running a dig under. Big play to Wheatfall and TD to Wilson both. Bombers really need to open up quick stuff to get ball out wide and force a D like that to make a tackle. Our receivers in general seem to not be on the same page as Collaros when it comes to attack those zone looks vertically, especially Lawler. Guy dropping out and guy bracketing overtop doesn't mean run corner between them, means flatten out and get to the numbers/sideline for the ball. Lawler should be playing boundary wideout IMO. He's most likely to get 1 on 1 vs a DB there if Bombers run routes to isolate him.
  7. This is nonsense. Bombers were loading up for run and especially disciplined backside for any read option stuff. They mostly played with 3 linemen B to B and everyone else free off the line. Yeah Edmonton hit a couple big ones and a couple more 7-8 yarders. But they weren’t going to drive for TDs without a passing threat. Realistically their best chance of winning is MBT playing most snaps and Ford as a gadget/change of pace guy. If anything they waited too long to switch and probably should have done it at half.
  8. Yeah sweeping back to backs with BC and Saskatchewan (aka the last two teams we've played in West Final and the 2nd-3rd place teams in West) mean nothing.
  9. Maybe. Hamilton has been decent vs Toronto and Ottawa but both those teams are the shits lately too.
  10. BC has a soft schedule for last 4 Home vs Hamilton, Home vs Calgary, @Sask and Home vs Montreal Bombers have to win out to control destiny. Bombers, Sask and Toronto win next week and the playoff races are basically over.
  11. The cannon isn't the issue. He can't hit anyone intermediate on time which is the entire game in this era.
  12. He doesn't have the arm. Proven over and over and over again when teams let him sit in pocket.
  13. 2 points on BC with tiebreaker.
  14. I really doubt it. He's not going to all of a sudden figure out how to pass the ball.
  15. Yeah so much momentum as Ford kept handing us the ball. Elks are 3 games behind us with 4 games left. Almost laughable for them to kick a FG thinking about tiebreak.
  16. It ran the first 5 seconds with the play clock then stopped as the play clock kept winding down which is why O'Shea was livid. Ref reset both clocks and reminded timekeeper clock starts on his ready for play, when the 20 second clock starts as well.
  17. Tre Ford is an athlete. Don't think he's an every down QB. Need some ability to deliver passes from pocket. Can figure out how to mix him in as a weapon.
  18. O'Shea just called the timekeeper a motherfucker.
  19. Why the **** did we just run out of bounds?
  20. Thomas eating Korte's lunch tonight.
  21. Tackle involves arms. Can't just throw your helmet out.
  22. That's auto eject in US football.
