  1. He's only started the last three games and the first one at halfback because they started the covid issues in Nova Scotia.
  2. Ross needs to catch the kicks. 15 yard penalty if he even touches that one where it hits the ground.
  3. Umpire threw his flag almost 20 yards. Can throw a flag under hand further than Fajardo can throw the ball.
  4. Duke Williams with the Duron Carter level effort in the open field.
  5. BC runs a lot of 5-6 receiver sets with 4 guys to the field. Run that formation and then pull a QB draw.
  6. Sask isn't really letting them, they are crashing their ends. BC needs to run some RPO stuff and maybe the odd draw play or screen tighter to the line.
  7. Cottoy needs to make that play.
  8. BC's field WR lines up so wide, way outside numbers. Must have seen something on film with Sask. Seems to open space in middle of field so far.
  9. Brutal play by Ross to not catch that kick. Almost results in Rider recovery.
  10. Lyles and Jones would look good on our practice roster. Not sure if Jones is willing to play special teams, but Lyles does.
  11. Yeah college safety. Imagine he'll have a lot of utility in a Richie Hall D. I think we'll see a lot of 30 fronts vs BLM with the DL and LB's just cycling through to stay fresh. Let him guess where the pressure is going to come from but drop 8-9 pretty consistently to make sure he's on his mark. Not worried about him doing anything outside the pocket anymore.
  12. Probably the deepest roster we've dressed this season. Concerns: -Have a better plan to integrate Harrison, McCrae into the offense. Not sure we want Grant to play as many snaps on O as he did last week. I'd guess that one of Harrison or McCrae are the non-DI import back up as we're like locked into 5 Canadians on O and 2 on D. Use these guys. Harrison is one of those big bodied receivers that usually jive well with Collaros who can get the ball out to them. If Demski and Wolitarsky are on the field McCrae is an easy sub. -Briggs back is a big one. We have lots of great Canadian role players on D. This will be crucial with how thin the secondary is....it has been all season. Would not be surprised to see one of Briggs, Gauthier, Maruo out there almost every down. Bighill is going to likely play some "safety" in two high looks when we drop 8-9 out. This is key to beating BLM especially with his reduced mobility...get a bit of pressure to move him off his spot but don't give the routes downfield any space.
  13. What makes Prukop have value? That he can look that bad against the later round of cuts but beat up on the guys who are in the first round of cuts? The entire league could have signed him three months before training camp, he’s not some kind of asset.
  14. Give the last play to Dom Davis to show how awful the QBs in Montreal are.
  15. Harris trying to spot rainbow throws in Hamilton wind. Not going to win with that guy.
  16. One thing other leagues are doing that the CFL could do to get ahead of things would be to have a league practice roster, basically another team of guys they pay to keep working and training in Canada with professional coaches working for the CFL. I've never understood why the league hasn't really jumped on board with this aside from forcing teams to keep players from Mexico and Europe in house. Would be a great way to develop Canadians, QB's and have a few Americans in other positions here waiting to be signed when teams get a rash of injuries or virus whatever. Also a way to develop coaches!!!
  17. League needs some quarterbacks. Watching Montreal and Hamilton...they both only run offensive plays out of formations designed to pass the ball but none of the QB's on the field can pass. It's excrutiating to watch. At least in the past if you had a team that built a solid physical run game that could be entertaining, but we have all these teams spreading the field then QB's who can't throw so they just run little dump offs 4 yards at a time.
  18. If Prukop is running short-yardage we better run some version of an option package because he is terrible at maintaining leverage on the wedge play.
  19. The whole "starters" thing is meaningless. There's like a half dozen guys on any team who aren't playing on O or D and half of them are QB's or kickers. Lapo certainly couldn't scheme for the OL he had in 02-03 and that ended Khari's career prematurely. Get the ball to Stegall isn't exactly genius stuff. 19 was the first year that the Bombers were above average in Red Zone efficiency with Lapo. Give him credit for that and using Streveler to facilitate that. Other than that his last tenure here was a horror show buttressed by Medlock's range, far above average special teams flipping the field and Richie Hall's defense turning the ball over at historic levels. The problem was that Nichols couldn't run quick game. The offense was hollowed out to Harris, both ground and air and deep shots. In 17 and 18 Harris touched the ball almost half of offensive plays the Bombers ran. Nichols couldn't move the ball and had no midrange game. You can pretty clearly see the difference with a QB like Collaros who can pass.
  20. Still an impactful player and has been more in the past 3-4 games than the first 3, but nowhere near as impactful as he was in 2018 for Sask and 2019 here. I think that'll be his peak.
  21. I think it's more of a "what are you going to do next time" approach. But there's no tolerance for bullshit. Like Duke Williams going to media today saying he didn't do what he got suspended for and he "dogged out" Richardson, Dinwiddie's lying. On this team the focus is always on the next game, the next play. Sask is in some kind of competition to be the loudest barking dog but don't have any focus on the actual goal.
  22. The worst part of the early-mid 2010s picks was no one wanted to play here anyway. We wouldn't have got a Kongbo type guy who just had to wait on the NFL to even show up versus by the end of the decade we had the culture where guys knew they'd get a shot that would both be an enjoyable experience and set them up to get into the NFL too.
  23. I’ll say based on what I’ve seen out of Collaros in our second full season here that I wouldn’t sign any receiver who is less than about 6’2…6’ for sure. Hamilton had it right when he was going there too. Field was lined up 6’3-6’5…Banks just returned kicks. Collaros is a downfield guy and unless you have someone real special like Dressler or Demski that means you need tall and wide receivers. Wouldn’t waste time on McKnight, trying to make Grant into something on O, even Bailey doesn’t fit great aside from the odd big play into the downfield stuff trying to make him a screen guy. Schoen, Ellingson, Agudosi, Lawler, even Darvin Adams in 19…immediate chemistry with Collaros…all big dudes.
  24. I don’t see him walking into a starting job anywhere but maybe Edmonton…who has started a different QB every other game this season.
  25. The inconsistency is the problem with someone like Maas. The behaviour on the low end is basically abusive and his own composure is obviously an issue given what we saw more of when he was a head coach, issues with decision making.
