  1. Interesting how intimidated teams are even at the coin toss. Feeling if they don't get a great start they have no chance, making bad decisions. Sask did it last week too, took the ball instead of wind in 4th at half.
  2. Hamilton took ball instead of wind in the long Q of the 2nd. Might rue that choice. Looks hella windy on the field.
  3. Gonna be hard to phase our team with noise in this stadium. Think of what any game we play here or in Sask is like.
  4. Bell must own Universal Music Canada. Not sure why a 3 song interlude is necessary including one song about self-harm before a football game.
  5. Ambrosie should run for government. Convene a taskforce and report back a year later when immediate crises demand solutions. If you don't have a sense of what the path forward is by now you shouldn't be in the chair.
  6. Any different than Clemons? The only player almost anyone in the GTA knows from the past 30 years, coach/gm/president, no traction.
  7. This hasn't been reported by anyone reputable and TSN hasn't even uttered a word about it in 3 hours and an "insider" segment each hour.
  8. I would question whether a head coach or GM can truly be promoted under that policy. They are at the top of the mountain. Permission would have to be granted like it was for Jones and Saskatchewan after 2015 although I doubt the Bombers are as eager as everyone seems to be to move on from Jones after a couple years.
  9. Likely struck out with the 19 year old girls on Tinder last night in the hammer so needed to get attention somehow.
  10. Yeah if anything the opening in Toronto might be a bit of a concern if we're worried about "promotions" although I don't get the sense that O'Shea is interested in a front office gig at this point of his life.
  11. There's not even a President in place there. Can't see O'Shea being interested, not sure he has job title ambition that most would.
  12. I guess any given Sunday re Hamilton's QB depth. Just don't see Masoli making any kind of difference since Ottawa or Edmonton aren't on the field tonight. Evans has a better arm and can run more of the west coast/run and shoot blend that Condell loves with consistency. Gotta force him off the first read and finish the rush but not over do it and let him out of the pocket.
  13. The analytics for kicking in US football are awful, but it's a different game. There are 4 downs and the goal posts are 10 yards past the goal-line. In Canadian football both teams are always closer to scoring based on the rules of the game which makes field position far more important. But yeah if you're coaching midget and you don't have anyone who can kick, don't kick.
  14. Not really sure what 4 downs does to improve the game. Ensures that teams never pass? To borrow from hockey to me it would be like removing the red line entirely and getting rid of icing. Awesome, right? No whistles! No, now everyone just keeps firing the puck back and forth and there's no skill in the game. Maybe start investing in coaching QB's right down to the grassroots so we have 15 guys each season who can throw.
  15. Maybe had a harder time voting for Desjarlais after he kicked their asses up and down the field.
  16. Know what Hamilton's O is going to do. 3 man route to one side of the field, ISO route to the other, back leaks out. Literally every play. If I were them and wanted to beat the Bombers I'd try to scramble out of the pocket as well as commit to some off-tackle and interior running. Those are a couple weaker points but not really weak. Stop Harris, get to Collaros on the other side. Good luck. Mostly hope the Bombers drop the ball, Bombers have really only stopped themselves on O this year.
  17. But what was she wearing? There's no excuse for a professional football player targeting a fan in the stands with a football. Lucky he didn't break someone's eye socket and get a medical insurance bill more than he's made in his CFL career. The Riders really need to get some control back of their organization and sideline on gamedays. Currently looking as poorly managed as the Argos, guess the Murphy stench still wafting.
  18. Well at least he doesn't know how to throw a punch so he didn't make any serious contact. Shouldn't have left the basement, not ready to be around actual humans.
  19. Fajardo will be crying real tears when O’Day deals him to Ottawa.
  20. Not sure how any self-respecting person can accept Duke Williams as a teammate. The whole thing at the end of the half happened right in front of me. Just ridiculous. League needs to act on it, against Williams and maybe the organization for having zero control of their sideline. Williams cut Alexander off on his way to the Bomber locker room and started a confrontation eventually jabbing or punching Alexander right in the face. No excuse for this, completely premeditated as the dressing rooms are in opposite directions. Riders have clearly adopted stupidity after whistles and really at anytime not during a football game as a tactic. The CFL and the refs on the field allow it and now it’s come to a head in the past two weeks.
  21. Yeah mostly worried about visibility on the drive home with the winds picking up.
  22. Riders front 7 is garbage and we have the best OL this league has seen in years. Think of how we beat them in the playoffs the last two years.
  23. Are players allowed to go to restaurants? Grocery stores? Policy feels weird to me.
  24. From EC Special Weather Statement for Winnipeg: Across southern Manitoba, 2 to 4 cm of snow is expected to fall Sunday and Sunday night with total snowfall amounts highest along the US border reaching 4 to 8 cm. An arctic cold front will sweep south through the southern half of province Sunday afternoon. With this front, winds will shift from easterly to northerly near noon and increase to 40 gusting to 60 by 3 pm and to 50 gusting to 70 by 6 pm. Combined with the recent and falling snow, visibilities are expected to be briefly reduced in blowing snow to less than 800 m in the late afternoon and throughout Sunday night. Afternoon temperatures are expected to drop about 10 deg from near -5 deg C to near -15 deg C late afternoon to early evening.
