It’s illegal without targeting, a spear. That’s as much for protection of the tackler as anyone. But I disagree wasn’t targeted. Was a late move and left feet when 83 on way down to turf, led with head. Wouldn’t have changed the turnover but new rules now about 2 rough play penalties being an ejection, plus 15 yards. If they don’t call rough play penalties that rule is pointless.

Hard to tell with TSN angles but looked like Rose was on outside breaking route, Thompson on inside breaking route and Taylor covering a deep half. Issue was when Thompson came downhill at that route Taylor had flattened out and both he and Rose realized it too late with Acklin having a running start. The group clearly needs some time together to iron out communication. Also wonder if Rose maybe has his mind of making the big play a little too much and jumping at the first move to try to get the ball.

About 50% on the sneaks. Took two downs to get one yard, botched the goal-line play and had to bring Collaros back out to score the first TD. Not sure why Brown isn’t the guy running that stuff. If we’re going with Prukop think we should run something that’s more of an option set from pistol or shotgun. He looks really uncomfortable under center and doesn’t get low to run the wedge.

Have no idea why you wouldn't run Jefferson right up the middle on that last play. They aren't throwing out wide.

The whole piling on guys who are already on the turf with contact is an issue in general not just QB's especially with head shots. There was a brutal one on Oliviera on the TD drive earlier in the game.

In what scheme is the safety helping a corner outside the numbers? If Rose was leaving the inside breaking routes there'd be no issue. He's biting on them and getting beat downfield to the sideline.

Gotta ask again why the hell we didn't see a viable placekicker in camp. Mourtada obviously crap and American. Liegghio continued struggles. Gotta find an American placekicker who can hit 85-90%.

Safety isn't the problem. The corner biting on all the double moves is.

Yeah he's straight up and then tries to dive. The whole point of the wedge is to balance off the leverage of the OL and roll off that for a couple yards. Might want to run more of an option package for him if he's going to be our running QB.

Don't see anyone really getting doubled on our DL. Masoli is just looking off Jefferson who is not really getting upfield but tracking the ball. The ball is moving out fast. I think you start dropping out 9, probably Cover 3 shells with short zones filled and rushing 3 most of the time with some zone blitzes mixed in.

Ottawa really didn't want any points.
