  1. There's a couple things to worry about. He holds the ball low, always. Haven't seen a ton of fumbles but scares me in the pocket, and a little when he gets running, the ball is at his waist. They don't need him to do a ton of straight drops into a regular pocket though, especially if they get more consistent in running Zone Read/RPO stuff testing the edge/contain of the D. Also when he scrambles he tucks the ball pretty immediately so there's not much chance he's going to get back into a position to make a throw. Good he's decisive but we're probably missing some plays downfield on those scrambles. To me this is the thing he/they need to figure out if he's going to be a legit starting level QB.
  2. Yeah. Fake tough works vs Ottawa, BC and Toronto. That'll get you 7-8 wins and 4th place. Guess the benefit for Edmonton is they'll get to go through the East.
  3. Really could have won all 10. Couple bad quarters.
  4. Yeah and turning the ball over. T Harris had 400 yards....1 TD...3 fumbles and a pick six....
  5. I don't know why they run the same idiots on the field week after week to take the same crippling penalties. Felt like some of their vets were getting pretty pissed off at their own team in that 4th Q, Sewell visibly on the sideline after the one fracas.
  6. Sean Whyte needs some MOP votes for Edmonton. He's got all the points.
  7. Streveler throws from 3/4 which isn't an issue. Rich Gannon was a Pro Bowl/MVP NFL QB with the same release. There's no windup, the ball gets out quick. The deep ball is an issue as from 3/4 a QB needs more torque to get it out, so needs a cleaner pocket to go deep.
  8. Guess he missed the T Harris 40 yard run completely facilitated by two holds on Nevis and Jefferson which would have been a nothing play had they been called.
  9. Can we kill the Trevor Harris as potential MOP candidate talk? Edmonton has wins against Toronto(x2), Ottawa (barely), BC(x2), and Montreal (Week 1 Pipkin and barely won at home). Combined record of their wins 9-25. No wins vs the West outside of BC (0-3 vs us and Stamps). No wins against anyone + .500, and beat Montreal before they were Montreal, lost to them in Week 6. Edmonton is not a good team and Harris is nothing special either.
  10. And Hecht ran at him without wrapping up giving him another 10 yards.
  11. Meh...tape. Everyone knew what was coming, they couldn't stop it. Bombers exert their physical will and it's unstoppable. Someone else bucks up and makes tackles they have a chance to stop it, but that run game is consistent and they didn't even involve all the weapons. The limit on the run game was Lapo going away from zone read/RPO looks for several possessions. Edmonton did zip to stop it all night, the OL, Harris and Streveler kicked their ass. Can't scheme that. Only issue with Streveler's passing are the deep balls. His mid range stuff he's putting the ball right on guys, they need to make the plays. Probably quite an adjustment from Nichols as the ball is in front or on guys, not behind or on the shoe tops.
  12. They really need to move on from Suitor. Celebrating headshots, late hits....finding no issue with guys spearing other guys in the head.
  13. Also Nevis is having a monster season. Very disruptive. Richardson and Nevis are consistently in the pocket and blowing up runs.
  14. If it was prior to the last couple games I’m sure Hansen has blown that number up after that. He’s played just by my eyes almost half the D snaps since the 2nd half vs BC.
  15. The complication to 4.2 and the safety/single rule is Edmonton is the only team that possesses the ball throughout the whole play and they knock the ball out of touch. If that player let it roll out off the kick it’s a single. Since he directs it and Edmonton was last to have possession (there’s no break in their possession from the snap since Bombers never control it) before it was dribbled along the turf it should be a safety. I’ve seen almost this exact scenario in a majors game I was coaching about 8 years ago and the officials had the rule books out to get it right, obviously no replay. Have seen a ton of live balls kicked/dribbled out of bounds but that’s a bit different, possession doesn’t matter in that case, only matters here because of the score in goal.
  16. Tebow also lefty which requires a QB to be like 100x better than average.
  17. If Jefferson picked it up and punted yes...since it was dribbled and Edmonton batted it out, Bombers never possessed it. It’s a safety. I’ve seen this play scenario before.
  18. Forgot Exume and Hallett on teams too.
  19. I actually think Streveler has better 10-20 yard passing game than Nichols. He doesn't have enough touch on the deep balls and isn't great on the balls into the flats, swing passes. Those 10-15-20 yard ones he puts right on guys.
  20. Dribbled ball...should be a safety, would be a single if it went out directly from the kick, since Edmonton punched it out of touch it's a safety. Could have been a huge turning point handing Edmonton the ball and some field position on a botched call. The key words below are "directed" and "possessed." If Edmonton recovered the ball and killed the play it's a single. Directing it out of touch makes it a safety. Article 3 — Safety Touch A safety touch is scored when the ball becomes dead in the possession of a team in its own Goal Area, or touches or crosses the Dead Line or a Sideline in Goal as a result of the ball having been carried, kicked, fumbled or otherwise directed from the Field of Play into the Goal Area by the team scored against, or as a direct result of a kick from scrimmage having been blocked in the Field of Play or Goal Area. After a safety touch, the options to the scoring team are to: Scrimmage at their own 35-yard line, kickoff from their own 35-yard line or, Accept a kickoff from the 25-yard line of the team who conceded the safety touch. If while in the act of conceding a safety touch, a team deliberately, in the judgment of the official, commits a Holding infraction, the score shall count and the penalty applied at the point where the ball is next put into play. When a Rough Play or Unnecessary Roughness foul is committed on a play during which a safety touch is scored by the non-offending team, the score shall be allowed and the penalty assessed from the point where the ball is next put in play. Article 4 — Single Point Or Rouge If the ball is kicked into the Goal Area by an opponent, a rouge is scored: when the ball becomes dead in possession of a team in its own Goal Area or, when the ball touches or crosses the Dead Line or a Sideline in Goal, and touches the ground, a player or some object beyond these lines.
  21. Gotta give props to Walters and scouts too. McAllister and Rios with a combo pick six....Hansen taking a regular role...Kongbo taking a big role....no matter who plays field HB nobody scores TD's on us. Eli and Desjarlais playing with mixed results....but we're winning with them. Lots of 2019 picks and rookies making plays.
  22. Everyone did their job. Need 44 gameballs. Our whole DL was amazing vs pass and run tonight, they especially deserve the game ball. Medlock with 6 key points in last minute of both halves. HUGE points.
  23. And that punishing option run/pass stuff is demoralizing....especially avoiding turnovers. Ideally we have both and make use of both. I know the 2 QB system isn't ideal usually but with these guys and complimentary skills they have I think it gets us the Cup.
  24. Bombers 3-0 vs Alberta.... Sask in 2nd place now.
  25. Suitor needs to retire.
