  1. Wonder if Reilly can even go next week. His mobility was not looking good and I'm sure that ankle is going to swell up pretty nice as the adrenaline wears off.
  2. Crazy finish. Guy Lankford lateraled too should have booted it again, damn near all of BC's players would have been onside. And Hamilton needs to be ready for that quick kick, all they need to do is recover that ball, anyone.
  3. Obvious catch, he makes catch than turns to endzone, doesn't bobble until he hits the ground.
  4. So you're attributing those team records to those coaches OC ability? This post is at the same time way overthought and way oversimplified. Almost like a scene from Billy Madison.
  5. Yes, and since their skill sets are so radically different there's a great opportunity to really **** up the opposition. The Bombers DID THIS last season already. You've got teams on short weeks with limited practice/meeting time. They spend more of that prepping counters to Streveler they spend less time focused on the pocket passing game/base offense. They spend no time on Streveler and more RPO and general option running, more focus on shutting down the base offense then we exploit that. A quarter into the game the Bombers will know where the opponent is at and can adjust.
  6. 8 offensive plays in a quarter holding a lead is ridiculous. Bombers offensive problems are consistency. They can score 3 TD's in one half and do absolutely nothing in the next half, entire quarters without a first down. This is not a new issue and in the end it affects them in the games against teams of their calibre. Big plays are nice in all 3 phases but they tend to dry up when the competition gets better. Need consistent ability to drive, grab 3-4 first downs most times offense hits the field. Do that with good D and special teams and we'll score 25-30 every week, close out games and win most of them.
  7. We're saying the same thing. In the interest of being 1-0 next week we need better offense.
  8. I thought Matthews would bring a bit more physically too after his time in the NFL where he had to play special teams to stay on the roster.
  9. Lions already 4 games out of a playoff spot. Already looking at must-win's if they are going to come off the mat this season.
  10. Well...Khari, Durant....Nichols is probably top 3 for sure. The rest are basically garbage and Buck Pierce held together by duct tape.
  11. Head to 441 Main you'll see them moving pretty good.
  12. That kind of stuff is nice now but really won't matter in November. Offense needs huge improvement, needs ability to consistently put up first downs, points and close games. Wouldn't matter if record is 6-2 or 2-6, building for November. Getting complacent with wins now is useless to the ultimate goal. Changes are absolutely necessary to scheme and potentially personnel if improvement doesn't start soon.
  13. Time limit seems too short. Think it should just be if they can't play by midnight local it's called, provided the team with the lead is up by 17+. Otherwise they need to figure out how to resume the game the next day. Most stadiums would not be booked.
  14. Edmonton is awful.
  15. Also don't get the lightning stuff. Unless it's right over top of the stadium there's not really any danger. Guess really concerned about liability.
  16. I feel that Nichols is very limited right now. Between him and Streveler, also limited by inexperience, we need 1 good QB. I think their skills are complementary enough to accomplish this. If I'm Walters/O'Shea I'm telling Lapo this is what we are doing, and unless one of them really takes control of the QB spot, it is what we'll be doing for the rest of the season. Game and practice plan accordingly, split reps, build an offense to use both QB's.
  17. And one has to wonder why given Nichols continued and extended struggle to find consistent play. I'm kind of feeling that they obviously think Nichols is their best chance to win now if he's operating at his best. We haven't seen his best in a long time. Keeping him in there must be to protect his confidence because they know from experience he likely won't recover from getting the hook, even if it's for 3-4 series.
  18. Because it’s my opinion and that’s kind of the point of these places?
  19. We have no intermediate passing game. So it’s Harris and bombs. We rely a lot on the big play and particularly the quick change ones after the D snags a turnover. This can work, and has in many blowout wins. Hard to be consistent though without that intermediate, get first downs, ability in the back pocket. And then the question is are the right plays to facilitate this, is Nichols hesitating on his reads not confident to hit those tighter windows? There’s a confidence crisis and it’s either with Lapo or Nichols. If you believe Suitor it’s Nichols.
  20. Really 3 last night because the other 3 they started well into field goal range off the punt cover fumble recovery. And the 3 I’m counting was a 55 yard field goal too!
  21. And the one to Lawler and another to Matthews were the only balls thrown and completed between 10-20 yards downfield. We have a total lack of medium passing game which is where Nichols used to live. He’s compromised physically or mentally, and we are just way too easy to defend. Streveler obviously brings a lot to the running game but in his starts aside from the Hamilton game where Lapo really put the chains on showed real good ability to hit those 10-20 yard passes. It’s time to install a game plan for Streveler. At this point Nichols should not even require practice reps. If we need him we can go back to him easy, give Streveler at least a half with a game plan tailored to him and the rest of our weapons.
  22. West Semi last year Streveler played last couple possessions.
  23. Nichols has to get over fear of failure and get over that fast. Going to make mistakes, just have to make more plays.
  24. 17 points off special teams returns and turnovers. Amazing night.
  25. I think we'd average about 240 yards of offense per game.
