Loffler might as well have not stepped on the field until Labour Day last year. He had a decent 2nd half but was not a factor at all in the 1st half of the season. I think Fogg is a guy we’ll miss and they didn’t want to lose but he cost more than they could pay for the dime spot. Fogg is the best DB in the league at generating turnovers in the span of his career (since 2016).

The increase in minimum salary will be off-set by the cap on Draft pick compensation. Kinda risky though as we already see guys who have NFL prospects refusing to sign out of the draft. -

Is that how someone gets a Mexican passport? Canadian ratio makes sense, this is just stupid. -

$50,000 a year this season and $65,000 a year in 2020 to stand on the sideline. If I were on the Practice Roster I'd be pissed. -

Interesting that between the rookie scale for draft picks and making imports NI's after 3 seasons the league is basically making it less attractive for the top Canadian players who have NFL shots. -

Hopefully, although that also opens up an easy loophole to get around the rule. Sign guys and put them on IR. The reporting so far is that this rule applies to the gameday roster and specifically the starting Americans, not including DI's. The NHL CBA certainly can put teams in a bind due to injury if the injured players don't fall under LTIR for cap relief and the team is too close to the cap to add another player. A few years ago Calgary had to play two players short. Most other leagues with CBA's have no roster restrictions, I wouldn't really count MLS as the players there are even weaker than the CFLPA. -

The American veteran thing is bizarre. Such a creation of an issue. What if those guys get injured? Now you have to sign guys off the scrap heap that have that experience? -

Maybe. They also have a ton of receivers who fit the run and shoot who might not fit a scheme with fewer vertical routes and more reliance on quick passing/YAC. -
He's sorta like Hebert was in his Bomber stint. Could play either OLB spot, S, probably HB too.
-
Washington lost his shot at a starting job when Matthews was signed. They’ll want a shiftier guy for the other slot. At best Washington is waiting for an injury to get on the field.

Hughes had 2 sacks after Labour Day and was basically a non-factor. -

One guy who never gets mentioned but is one of the most dominant CFL QB's in my lifetime is Dave Dickenson. Unfortunately he left in his prime for the NFL and came back injury-prone. He was better than Ray or Calvillo. His career QB Rating is off the charts. Dickenson 110.4 2421 passes Ray 98.2 7301 passes Calvillo 95.5 9437 passes Flutie 94.1 4844 passes Moon 93.8 2382 passes Allen 83.8 9138 passes -
He’d only played parts of two seasons of football as anything but a kicker too. For a fourth round pick would have been reasonable, not 4th overall when there were some really good receivers on the board.
-
That was Etienne.
-
Johnson moves to boundary corner in 2009 and becomes a top defensive player. Hefney plays boundary HB and becomes a top defensive player. Arguably in 2011 those two are the best players in the league.

Vince McMahon considers move to bring back the XFL

It’s the same model. AAF partnered with CBS and NFL Network. The league had central ownership. The issue becomes how much capital can people lose/are they willing to lose in these ventures. Because it is basically a guarantee they will lose money. The overhead to get into the size of stadiums, insure the league and players, pay the players something etc is huge. I’m sure the tag line about more concussions is helping to lower the health premiums. If it can’t be covered by gate the league is immediately in the red because the TV deal is not bringing in any revenue and sponsors are going to hang back to see if they get traction. -
Incorrect opinion. Taman traded picks but for the most part got something useful, like Doug Brown, Kevin Glenn, Alex Gauthier etc. He was a one man personnel department in a different era here. Mack didn’t really build anything here. 2011 team was carried by the defense Mike Kelly built in 2009. Other than that season we were pretty much the worst team in the league and a complete embarrassment. Mack thought Tim Burke as head coach was a good idea. Mack found some decent imports but couldn’t put together a team, a bunch of guys who had a few good games.
-
The biggest problem with the Etienne pick was that it was such a gamble on upside for a team that didn't have the depth to make that kind of pick. Coehoorn was such an obvious pick, but they took Etienne because he'd eventually turn into something and have a long career. Can't think that way in the CFL Draft. Draft for the next 2-3 seasons.

Won't be his cap hit if he wants to keep playing. Whitlock is an interesting player. Not many DT's that impact the game on Special Teams like he does. -
The whole Mack era was a bust. Watson, Muamba and Volny are the only guys they picked that had decent careers in the CFL.

In one game the offense went conservative with a lead and couldn’t get a first down, in the other game the offense struggled and fell behind in the middle and fought back in the 4th. Numbers were ok, but not great overall, some on Lapo some on Nichols.
-
Even Nichols good performance last year wasn’t good enough. Playoffs were ridiculous with locking in on one-read. Lapo can help him out sometimes with misdirection but if the defense reads it Nichols is screwed. The most impressive thing about Streveler is his ability to protect the ball but still make plays. Lapo is a constraint on him though, I hope having the off-season has allowed him to develop concepts better suited to Streveler and that when he plays this year substantially we aren’t going to see him running Nichols’ offense.
-
The Canadian artillery on offense. Wolitarsky, Demski, Simonise, Petermann Harris, Oliviera That's as deep as I can ever remember for a Bomber team in Canadians who are legit playmakers. Most of my life as a Bomber fan we'd be tossing someone out there to fill a Canadian spot hoping they could catch a pass if the defense left them open. These guys can all make plays. Gives the Bombers a lot of options in terms of who slots in where, whether 3 imports start on OL etc. Excited to see what Lapo builds and how they use Streveler. See if Nichols can find consistency again.
