  1. Mackling is not at the level required for this broadcast. CUT
  2. The Alouettes franchise has been a festering wound since the moment it started up again. Had some great years on the field but off the field always a mess, losing money. Will be very interesting to see how this plays out.
  3. I'd hope they'd have a number of games guys would have had to play, not just sit on reserve or PR for 3 years.
  4. First thought would be who is the next guy up to snap the ball. If you can't get the ball reliably to the QB nothing else matters. If none of the 5 starters can handle that, then who your 6th guy is becomes really simple, and that's how Couture got on the roster as a rookie. Neufeld played around with it a bit too but struggled pretty badly in the 2017 preseason. If Couture doesn't win the starting job he'll almost for sure be the 6th OL.
  5. Farmer is definitely an interior lineman.
  6. Lots of opportunity to use players that are useful. No issue getting him on the roster.
  7. Well the one guy started all 11 games as a “big offensive tackle” so I guess that’s good?
  8. Sale of Alouettes becoming a fiasco. Dragon's Den guy now saying he's interested, wants Quebecois GM/Coaching Staff, going to sell half his share in the team to fans to try to fund a stadium.
  9. Every year we can keep O'Shea from heading back to Southern Ontario is a win. No reason to get rid of any of that core group of President, GM, Head Coach. None of them are on the hot seat. The team is always ready to play and has been since 2014. The continuity has and will continue to allow the team to build talented rosters. We literally haven't been able to attract the level of free agent we've attracted yearly from 2016 on since the early 90's.
  10. I don't like either of those guys on first down or 2nd and 4 or less if it's my team.
  11. God I hope they lock themselves into playing a NI on DL and LB every down with the guys they have. Great for us with Harris and Oliviera.
  12. That Toronto preview is even worse. Argos stack up with any receiving corps in the league. Old Jimmy Ralph the 4th receiver with 70 yards last season.
  13. But those DIs can only sub for imports so that doesn’t make much sense.
  14. Which doesn’t even factor in the tackles he can’t attenpt because of poor reads. We’ve beat Edmonton several times by picking on that guy.
  15. How is it enforced? Do we need to make officials jobs more complicated? Do imports who qualify get a sticker on their helmet or what?
  16. Collaros was horrible last season. There was a pretty big brigade there that wanted Bridge to play over him.
  17. Loffler might as well have not stepped on the field until Labour Day last year. He had a decent 2nd half but was not a factor at all in the 1st half of the season. I think Fogg is a guy we’ll miss and they didn’t want to lose but he cost more than they could pay for the dime spot. Fogg is the best DB in the league at generating turnovers in the span of his career (since 2016).
  18. The increase in minimum salary will be off-set by the cap on Draft pick compensation. Kinda risky though as we already see guys who have NFL prospects refusing to sign out of the draft.
  19. Is that how someone gets a Mexican passport? Canadian ratio makes sense, this is just stupid.
  20. $50,000 a year this season and $65,000 a year in 2020 to stand on the sideline. If I were on the Practice Roster I'd be pissed.
  21. Interesting that between the rookie scale for draft picks and making imports NI's after 3 seasons the league is basically making it less attractive for the top Canadian players who have NFL shots.
  22. Hopefully, although that also opens up an easy loophole to get around the rule. Sign guys and put them on IR. The reporting so far is that this rule applies to the gameday roster and specifically the starting Americans, not including DI's. The NHL CBA certainly can put teams in a bind due to injury if the injured players don't fall under LTIR for cap relief and the team is too close to the cap to add another player. A few years ago Calgary had to play two players short. Most other leagues with CBA's have no roster restrictions, I wouldn't really count MLS as the players there are even weaker than the CFLPA.
