  1. Who did? Can only recall it being brought up on message boards. Can't find any media related to Matthews and the Bombers since 2015.
  2. Why do you assume they didn't?
  3. The Bombers almost recovered two kickoffs in Edmonton kicking into the wind because their returner was standing at the 5 waiting for the ball, which came down at the 30. That's pretty brutal coaching.
  4. It's pretty rare to add anyone impactful mid-season. The only thing I'd trade for is maybe a defensive lineman if Jeffcoat and Corney aren't likely to return. They are really thin for Canadians on DL, but I wouldn't deal anything higher than a 4th round pick. This team is really unlikely to go on a run with the way Nichols is playing.
  5. The biggest problem with the scheme has been the predictability of the blitzes. He’s always sending JSK and Bighill straight ahead. In recent weeks they’ve been sending the SAM more and some DB’s, running more 30 fronts with Wild in there on passing downs, looping guys and making it tough for QBs to scramble out of the pocket. The whole game is being unpredictable and not letting QBs get comfortable.
  6. Hard to get stats when you lose yards and end up punting from where you started on a bunch of your possessions too.
  7. The offense gave up 57 points directly off their turnovers in the 4 game losing streak. 57!
  8. The scary part is not being able to sustain drives. Far too many 2 and outs. If they just got 2-3 first downs every drive they would have ended most drives last night in FG range and put up 42-45 points. Also need to cash in on that field position with a couple more TDs. The Bombers have the best starting field position in the league. Early in the season the offense capitalized on it. Starting in the BC loss they’ve really struggled to. The defense and special teams have the ability to be dominant and make big plays when the offense can just even be mildly functional.
  9. The only guy out is Draheim, and he’s pretty bad. Everyone on their depth chart is a veteran CFLer.
  10. The play wasn’t there that’s why he was scrambling. It was 2nd and 13. Wouldn’t have even been a first down if the receiver makes the catch on the turf. Everyone on the field knows where that ball is going at that point and it’s not going to a guy who is wide-open, it’s going to a guy who is stationary in a crowd which is basically get your receiver killed or throw a pick 101. It was a nice catch because Nichols threw it low but it wasn’t a great read by a DB, any DB would jump that. Throw it away kick the field goal, have a 27 point lead at that point, 4 possession game, game over. Nichols did a fairly good job of playing within the confines of not taking unnecessary risks. That was one.
  11. Don't win with excuses like that either. What a load of bullshit.
  12. We also have a quarterback who can't pass with any confidence so it's making most of our receivers pretty useless.
  13. Why is it sad that our Canadian receivers were the best on the field? I'd rather have Wolitarsky and Petermann's effort tonight than Williams.
  14. Rather have a Dookie Williams crying everytime he gets touched?
  15. Our D has barely given up a TD drive from Labour Day on. This didn't come out of nowhere.
  16. D has been great any game we've had an offense. The trend is pretty clear.
  17. Last 4 games- 250 yards passing against 205 yards passing against 234 yards passing against 192 yards passing against With lots of garbage time yards in the last two games. All 4 would have been easy wins with a functional offense. Last 2 were wins.
  18. Fogg is one of the greatest defensive players of this generation at turning the ball over. He's in the conversation for Bombers MODP. Nevis had a huge game. Took on many blocks that made space for LB's blitzing.
  19. If the season ended today we'd play Sask in the West Semi and have the 2nd and 3rd overall picks in the 2019 Draft.
  20. This has to be one of the most poorly quarterbacked games by two #1 QB's in a long time.
  21. This is pretty much the blueprint for this team to win against good teams with the offense.
  22. Doug Brown must not be sleeping with the newborn. Many brain farts.
  23. Why is it unnecessary? Pretty damn necessary if the guy catches the ball instead of dropping it. DB's don't have time to make sure on a bang bang play if the catch was made, coming up to make the hit/tackle.
