  1. No running game, from Harris or QB, no mid-range (10-20) or long passing game. So easy to defend. Almost need to use Streveler regularly at this point to give our offense any variety.
  2. I hate that TSN never shows the coin toss aside from the Grey Cup.
  3. Except those rookies have totally changed the culture here. They are winning and winning more consistently than any regime here since Cal Murphy. Hall has more rings than Nelson. Nelson could have been hired a DC by any team in the league this year and wasn't. Why is he so great? Popp and Trestman have never developed a QB. Popp in almost 3 decades as a GM/Head Coach in the CFL has never developed a QB. Not a guy I want unless you can be sure that a hall of fame calibre QB is going to be a free agent.
  4. They have done that this year. They are on pace to break the cap. They are all-in. Problem is that it looks like they are all-in with the wrong QB, but who knows how much the injury has affected that. How did they stand pat? They've signed more free agents than anyone but Montreal and re-signed everyone but peripheral players like Bond. If anything I wish they'd focus more on scouting and developing some imports. Popp is a brutal GM and has been for a long time. Buono too. Trestman hasn't won **** without hall of fame QBing. Stubler and Claybrooks could die at any moment.
  5. What I mean is that they'd have to pay someone a game cheque on the 46 if they moved Leggett off the 46 to the 1-game IR. Doesn't make much sense. If Flanders came on they'd probably cut Wild or a DB and add them to the PR.
  6. Salary Cap. Clearly they prefer the DI's on Wild and an extra DB.
  7. Dressler out. Hope they move Wolitarsky into the middle of the field a bit, big, physical target good hands. Help the QB out.
  8. Offense has to play from opening drive. Take advantage of turnovers provided by defense and protect the ball. Stay on the field, win field position. No long lapses. 2nd and 3rd quarter tend to be where they fall apart.
  9. But at a certain point it becomes clear that Nichols only leads to mediocrity, depending on the state of the rest of the league. We're clearly behind Calgary and usually behind one of Edmonton or BC. If Sask has a good year we're probably fourth. How many years do we want to do this on repeat? Kind of similar to Glenn that way IMO. When you get to that point that you continuously stall out in the playoffs (and maybe even in the regular season) you move on.
  10. Yep, it’s great management to burn a bunch of draft picks and Canadians on guys who aren’t even players for you and TJ Heath just to get to 6 wins. See how they feel in 2021 when they’ve gone 3 drafts without a pick and haven’t won more than 7 games in a season.
  11. Quarterback can't sustain it right now. At some point they need a QB to make some plays against "other" good teams. You can beat the Argos and Lions (at home anyway) sleepwalking through most of the game. They have as many pieces as anyone else.
  12. Looks like Gerald Rivers is in along with Gaitor. 3 DI's on D plus Medlock. They could definitely get Flanders on the roster if they wanted to. To me Wild and Gaitor's roles could be quite easily taken on by one of the Canadians. There's no roster crunch keeping him off. That DL and receiving group are thin as hell.
  13. How many first downs did the offense manage in the 2nd and 3rd quarters?
  14. Especially when the offense spends two-thirds of the game on the field.
  15. Disagree. Stopping the defense from making subs is huge. I'm not sure I'm very confident in their ability to run it though considering a basic pass and catch is an adventure right now.
  16. Als aren't blitzing all that much. Rushing 4 dropping 8. Bombers blitzed like crazy and Harris just hit quick passes to wide-open guys over the blitzers.
  17. Pipkin was 2/6 for 14 yards in preseason. I'm not sure anyone knew anything about him aside from college.
  18. Nichols must be embarrassed watching raw rookie training camp cut Pipkin cut through the Ottawa D on the road like a hot knife through butter. Could barely get a first down against them at home.
  19. Hebert is getting another suspension. Should just eject him from the game.
  20. Realistically he should just be starting to get back to full activity. Came back way early. Injured in October.
  21. Jeffcoat placed on 6 game.
  22. I wouldn't trade a 2019 first rounder for Burnham. Maybe a 3rd or 4th or conditional pick in 2020. He's just too much like Adams, spectacular in every sense, in the catches he makes and the ones he drops. Montreal used their pick in the supplemental so BC's pick will likely be in the top 2, and the Bombers own pick could very well be up there too. It's a real deep draft class too. I'd keep the picks if I'm the Bombers. They really need an impact NI or two on D.
  23. That’s a little backwards from reality. The D has done a good job of getting off the field and even turning the ball over on the other teams side of the field in the first half of the last two games which were terrible losses. Ottawa game fell apart late in the second quarter when offense continuously couldn’t get a first down and kept sending the D out and pretty much the same situation I’m Calgary just in the second half. I mean both games they handed the offense the ball at basically midfield off a turnover, 8-7 game vs Ottawa, believe it was 9-3 in Calgary and out of those possessions we got a FG in Calgary. Those need to be TDs if we expect to beat good teams. The offense is barely moving and rarely scoring touchdowns until the game is over. This game is offense, it’s basically illegal to play D outside of rushing the passer which is something our team is not very consistently good at, and even then you’re likely to take a penalty for how the QB gets tackled. That win streak against the East was all D, Harris and Demski.
