They aren't really doing anything to help him out unless he's not running the plays properly. They need to move the pocket to help him and cut the field in half, cut his reads to half the field and help him get it out quicker or at least get on the move.
And I kind of question if he's making some changes during plays because they've been running some slide protection which shows they want him to at least quarter roll and move a bit and he's just kind of hanging in place.
I wonder if there's a key player effect with Bighill. Seems like our entire D was making plays when he was out, now nobody making plays. Perhaps waiting for him to do it subconsciously?
Bighill dropping out as safety...Hall spending too much time around Lapo?
Exactly one guy consistently making plays on D, that's Jefferson. The rest really need to step up.
Bombers need to disguise better in formation. On Begelton play can see that Gaitor or Wilson coming, Arbuckle reads Wilson who drops into coverage and then just waits for long crosser.
The nice thing about Matthews is they got him signed in low 6 figures with decent bonus structure, very little up front, because he literally had no market. It was very low risk for the Bombers, and that's really the only way he fit in here.
This team is built to be this team for exactly 1 season. Sure some guys are just starting three year deals, but about 1/3 of the team will be free agents at the end of this season, including many key Canadians.
Will be interesting to see who comes on the roster if Jeffcoat goes out. We'd have an open import spot. Could be an extra DB, maybe LB. Have Maston (added to active already), Dale Warren and Korey Jones. We don't have an import DL around.
Well the points didn't come from his arm, they came from Harris and the OL whipping the Argos LB's.
Nichols threw one completion in the ENTIRE GAME that travelled more than 12 yards vertically down the field. Pick any one of Brian Brohm, Robert Marve, Max Hall, Justin Goltz, Joey Elliott...that's the kind of thing we'd be talking about after they started a game.
