3 stars plus hh tigernaughts sack party

All I can say for Nichols in a positive sense is he didn't lose the game. He certainly gave Masoli a good chance to win it. Coming up one drive short all the time won't help us with Calgary, Edmonton, hell even Saskatchewan. -
It's pretty clear that the deep ball was the gameplan tonight because it's not like Nichols favours the deep balls ever. Nichols hits 2-3 of those it's a different game. Clearly the Bombers have a lot of playmakers, and guys in waiting. Look at Petermann. As always, Lapo needs to simplify and avoid tipping off the opposition through formation. When he trusts his players and uses misdirection to give them that extra split second to gain space this offense is great. We aren't going through the West on Nichols arm. We have a chance with Harris, Demski, Adams, Dressler, Streveler (in a change of pace package), maybe Flanders coming in soon. Nichols is a point guard, not a Kobe. On the roster....if Dressler is out, I dress Flanders as a DI, start Petermann (use Simonise a bit too), start both Leggett and Fenner on D, secondary would be Randle-Sayles-Leggett-Alexander-Fogg-Fenner (SAM). Could dress Tylor Henry over Augustine if they feel short at receiver. Loffler can play a role as a backup, throw him in as a rover on passing downs.

Whole special teams for me. Great coverage, couple huge returns. -
Sort of. Needed one more first down on last Bomber drive to end the game, didn't even need a TD or FG, just one more first down to run the clock out. TD would have ended it too. Couldn't do it. D won the game. D made it a game, special teams on the whole won field position battle, O only scored on short fields short of one drive early in 3rd.

I think he needs to decide if he wants to be a powerlifter/bodybuilder or a football player.
-
He's a typical one-move pass rusher. I would not want him on the field as much as Edmonton has to have him out there to satisfy the ratio. He's a liability vs the run and invisible on the majority of his snaps. 3 of 5 sacks tagging a QB who's basically on the turf doesn't really make a guy an all-star, except on TSN. He's getting the numbers from the work of Ceresna and Sewell.

Also interesting that Willis is lone Lion, two edge rushers from Sask, nothing interior. Hamilton two DT's, no edge rushers. Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg pretty balanced, although most of Edmonton's pressures came in last two games.

At this point does anyone understand what the hell Jones is doing? Even if a 44 year old Terrell Owens could play a little bit he can’t play well enough to be worth the distraction he will cause. Why even waste time on this?

BC getting their asses kicked and celebrating every sort of play they make. Look like a loser franchise.

Point Douglas is even more inaccessible than the U of M campus. That would have been the absolute worst location. I can still remember Asper's pitch about having people park downtown and jump on a barge down the river to get to the game.

One easy step Montreal can take this week...get a legit freaking kicker. They are using an import spot anyway, get a guy who can actually get a punt off.
-
Manziel looks horrid in the pocket. I don't think he's completed a pass beyond a quick first read.
-
Ya right.
-
I'd rather have 2 QB's that can win games.
-
That's scary too. Head coach has as much CFL experience as Manziel, and was coaching in startup pro league in the States in spring instead of working on learning the CFL game.
-
Shiltz is injured. Willy is injured. Adams would be the option. The 3rd QB tonight is also off the street in the last week.
-
Throwing moving backwards ain't gonna work here.
-
Drug Flutie, since all they've done is compare him to Flutie. A little derogatory though.
-
Sherman for sure. I mean the Manziel trade was so stupid in terms of what they gave up. Personally I'd end that experiment tonight too and have him at #3 or #4 on the depth chart but they probably can't. Montreal is just such a mess.
-
Can't believe they let Bede punt still. So slow to get the ball away just a big play for the opponent waiting to happen.

The location within the city is less of an issue to me than the fact it’s on a relatively isolated university campus with limited access to only one thoroughfare. If it were on the other side of Pembina toward Kenaston or somewhere like that in the south end with access in all directions it would be fine. If they could build even a pedestrian bridge to St. Vital to lessen traffic on Pembina and open up more options that would make a big difference. But the politics of pretending to be cheap and making the U of M stakeholders ruled the day. And it really screwed over the Bombers. Not having transit ready to go, forcing the Bombers to pay for it. Cripes.
