He didn’t have to be very accurate on Friday. He just had to get the ball out at the end of his drop, put some air under it and let his receivers work to it. There was no need to think and that just makes it easy. Need a combination of pressure and tight passing windows, and not knowing what they’ll be facing in a given coverage/pressure. That’s a recipe to beat any QB in this league.

Lapo won’t be a head coach in this league again, aside from maybe an interim job finishing out a season.

It’s week 4. The Grey Cup is a long way off. Our starting QB hasn’t played a snap. There’s no need to jump in a noose after every loss.

Don't forget the 1 non-import on our D has evolved into a huge liability. In terms of personnel, aside from scheme, that's the first change I'd make, and the result of that change would also be JSK being a DI and not a starter. I'd move our NI starter on D to WIL, whether that's Loffler or a combination of guys taking that spot. Loffler at safety is a handicap right now.

So they buzzed down on the horse collar and invented a late unnecessary roughness to create the same result. Man is CFL officiating a mess.
-
Horse collar needs to be booth reviewed everytime. If it’s garbage they need to buzz down.

I still regret letting Bond walk. Man that's a downgrade. I bet if they knew how the draft would have turned out they would have never signed Bowman.

Edmonton's offense has looked awful aside from the 4th Q against us.

No the Chungh hold is a hold. You can't stop moving your feet and hip toss the DL.

Rushing 6 and 7 into a max protect of 7 down after down is just beyond pointless. DB's can't cover the whole field, you're either giving away deep throws or short throws. That's why LB's are part of coverage too. Hopefully the open spots on the field are the furthest from the QB so he has to be accurate and have time to get the ball there. If it's a short throw, hopefully the window is small so the QB has to be accurate. So pointless to blitz if you can't get there, and you make it predictable so they are literally scheming for it. Just useless. Masoli was literally throwing into 30 yards of field and the receiver would just run under it, catch the ball and then turn up for the next 5-6 yards for the first. There's no deception in this defense and that makes it incredibly easy to beat.

Give Loffler a shot to play closer to the ball at WIL and if he struggles there then you have a role player. He's shown no ability in the last 2 seasons to cover downfield in cover 0 (burned to a crisp so far this season here) and cover enough ground to be a factor other than making tackles 25 yards downfield in cover 1 and cover 2.

The only phase that didn't stink tonight was special teams. Everyone's on the D, and they weren't great, but the TOP disadvantage is a 2 way street. That's a long stretch of a game, over a quarter, where the Bombers did not gain a single first down. That's nearly 3 consecutive quarters of play after the first two drives in the 1st where the Bombers didn't throw a pass longer than 8 yards.

It was pretty brutal PI. Unamba literally just wrapped him up. Unless you mean the one early in the drive that was a touch behind him that he didn't even make an attempt on. Feel like the refs wanted to get back into AC on that last Bomber drive, two brutal PI's uncalled 1st and 2nd down plus the whole clock issue on Bowman's "offside" when the ref didn't whistle play in and 7 seconds ran off. We were going to lose anyway but this is a professional game.

Bombers dodged a bullet there. Would have been stuck with his salary.

I wonder how pissed Bridge is that Carter is playing D.

And Ottawa stopped running halfway through the 3rd quarter. Good way to lose.
