Diving headfirst and turning into ball carriers is a good way to get a concussion, shoulder or back injury too. If they value him as a receiver it makes no sense to have him playing on the boundary where he's going to have to make a lot of open field tackles which he clearly has no technique to do.

Reconstructive surgery and cartilage damage. Wouldn't count on 8 months.
-
Lulay tore his ACL in September. He won't be playing in the first half of the season.
-
Devon Bailey is awful. If they are counting on him to be more than a 7th receiver they will be sad.
-
Sask vaunted D starts preseason with a TD drive with 35 penalty yards.
-
Hard to see a guy like Leggett getting cut at this time of year. They would have paid out an off-season bonus and probably a roster bonus at the start of camp.
-
Tabbies had too many high picks to sign this year. Chapman might just wait to see if he can get into a NFL camp.
-
How about Calgary and BC?

The issue with that is that the CFL has to compete with the NFL and real-life for players. Think of Geoff Gray. Say the cap the Bombers could sign him for was $80k per year or something on his rookie contract. Maybe he'd come north for $150k and give up the NFL PR dream. Guy is also an engineer and maybe would choose to start on his career rather than being forced to sign a 2 year contract for $80k per year. So there's the downside. It's a little different with MLB, NHL and NFL when you're talking millions of dollars and they are the top leagues in the sport.

TSN should broadcast the games on one of their 5 channels without any play-by-play or analysis, just the field mic. Hell if they offered that PPV I’d pay.

I don’t think Lankford is one of those players that gets the loyal treatment. He’s a fringe player. Flanders might be a guy that gets it at the cost of someone who could be a great player like Myles White.
-
I think Labour Day or Banjo Bowl is a realistic target. Let’s be real, if he’s healthy they don’t sign Fenner AND Gaitor, plus re-signing Fogg. They are counting on half his salary or maybe more being off the cap.

The Bombers are likely “starting” two Canadians on D either way to give ultimate flexibility to the offense. It wouldn’t have been a problem because they’d have had the same guys they have now plus Muamba. As of now the second starter will be a combo of guys taking reps at all 3 levels of the D (Corney, Ekakitie/Thomas, Briggs/Miles, Jones).

Our best defensive games last season were with 7 DL. Struggled huge against the run with 6 dressed. We have lots of NI DB’s and LB’s who can fill in. If we had one DI to use on D I’d use it on a DL.
-
It’s not much of a challenge if they want to do it. They have good Canadian backups pretty much everywhere.
-
I think aside from Medlock, one on a LB/DB, one on a DL and one on Flanders or a different back/receiver. Some will depend on return game.
-
I’d expect a bunch of guys to not really have a set position each down on D this year, pretty much everyone but the corners.
-
Eventually the Riders have to draft a CFL player. Drafting guys headed to the NFL and OL with a neurological disorder that made them lose 100 lbs results in hoping Eddie Steele can play another year and signing Jordan Reaves.
-
The nice thing is that he can transition into a 5th receiver/H-back/sometimes tailback kind of role and maybe take a pay cut. Even if he’s not an every down player he’s got the right passport.

This regime always plays to win. Not in a stupid way, but we won’t be losing 52-0 and feeling good about it.

Olafioye is beyond done.

Bighill and JSK make a hell of a duo for WIL and MAC. Hard to see how Wild sticks around.
-
Guys like Augustine and Thera-Plamandon have a real chance of making this team on special teams and H-Back. Also really liked the back we just signed when he was in Vikings camp, Jhurrell Pressley. He’s a big play type back, real fast.

Pretty good indication that Coates is basically done for this season with the foot fracture. Why hold a roster spot?

Around The League: 2018 Offseason

Teams can only bid their own picks. Hard to see him getting past Montreal, Hamilton and Ottawa. One of them will bid their first unless they don’t think they can sign him.
