Calgary probably goes DB here, Bennett or Onyeka. Fortunate to have the run on OL ahead of them.
-
Looking good for the Bombers to have their pick of receiver, DB or RB at 12.
-
Jonestown must be comfortable to pick a player who won't be in the CFL for probably a couple years at least.
-
Bombers use one of their first couple picks on a tight end-H Back type. Book it.
-
Because every team has the players ranked exactly the same.
-
It’s not that linear. It’s not like they are going to hire extra OL coaches or something. Sure there’s a cost to having players at training camp I guess, but weird way to look at it. The draft picks have no monetary value.
-
Pretty typical from what I know thus far, but I mean that could be a high 2019 pick given what BC looks like headed into this season. I’d have a hard time seeing them finish higher than 4th in the West unless Jennings gets back on track.

I wonder if Fantuz still wants to play. He's a type of receiver we don't really have. -

Henoc is a classic bad team player. Good player, always going to be on bad teams because the good teams won’t put up with him. It’s pretty simple when a team says here’s the role we have, here’s the money. You want to be a part of it or you don’t. -
Considering pretty much the only guys they can really evaluate in mini camp are receivers and DB's...don't get too horny for "12 new DBs and 11 new receivers." At least half won't make training camp.
-
Pretty good chance the Bombers would have made the last two Grey Cups if they were in the East too. They would have needed one playoff win at home each year. Gotta talk apples if you're going to make that comparison.

The only backwards move this off-season IMO is swapping Bond for Neufeld. I'm hopeful about Couture and Spooner but I know Neufeld sucks. I feel it's quite likely they'll end up playing 3 imports at some point this season. I just hope it happens before Nichols gets ruined. No other move is negative. In terms of NI's the draft is still upcoming and they've basically moved two spots to offense from defense. They have accumulated a ton of NI talent, guys who are great special teamers who they've developed into role players on D. In my opinion they need to add a NI DL who can potentially take some snaps, but there's also a strong possibility they dress 5 import defensive linemen with Corney and Ekakatie. They have Jeffcoat and many of the new Americans coming in for training camp are those end types who can slide inside and play 3 technique for pass rush. Westerman was overpaid and while he brought some intangibles also brought a lot of negative plays to the field that almost negated the big plays he could make. They also need to add a blocking back to replace Normand but there are at least 2 and probably 3 in this draft who could fill the role (Mackie, Moisan, Green) plus Lafrance and Thera-Plamandon. To me there is quite of bit of room to improve over the past couple years with import scouting. Seems like they've been quite aggressive in bringing in CFL veteran free agents to fill some of those gaps, but it would be really nice to find a quality receiver, linebacker (and continued growth from JSK), a true rush end.

I think one of the most obvious picks is the Bombers picking an H-back type to replace Normand. Maybe Dubois is that guy.

I hope we are done with the import kick returner who can’t catch punts or play receiver spot on the roster. That’s McDuffie and a worse version in Lankford. -

McDuffie sucks. He has one exceptional skill which is running fast in a straight line. Shaw was pretty good for the Argos, Stangby was average as a receiver last year, elusive but meh hands. -
Canadian starter is a Canadian starter. Chapman is going to be one of the most players in this draft. There's not many OL who are going to play right away, both for NFL and needing time to develop. I think Shepley might be the only one but he could hit the NFL too. Pickett and Justin Lawrence are a couple who could play earlier too as centres. I see Dubois ending up as a H-back type guy. I was surprised he didn't/or maybe he wasn't asked to take part in the pass pro drills with the running backs. I think the Bombers grab a receiver or DB in the first round and pick up a developmental OL in the 2nd. Only way they take an OL is if Shepley or Korte fall.
-
That mock really favours OL and the Ticats. Petermann isn't lasting that long. The rest of the league doesn't care what Hamilton needs.
-
Seriously doubt he's playing in a CFL game anytime soon. Project to my eyes. Got dominated by a pretty lousy group of DL at the combine. I think the Bombers will have a few chances to pick him. There`s a pretty big drop from a handful of players, talking guys who are going to be in the CFL, not NFL, and the next tier. I think Montreal takes Chapman. And then Hamilton has the board after that. Why trade up? Why trade down if you're Montreal? You need an elite player not 3 2nd rounders.
-
Should have a decent shot at a player at 7, or a futures swing for the fences kind of pick. If there's a run on OL that leaves the top DB and REC on the board I'm sure they won't mind.
-
Simonise was hot garbage in the 1 on 1's. I think he's likely to fall depending on how he came off in the interviews. I can't see many teams taking him over Petermann or Chapman. At best he's the 3rd receiver off the board IMO.
-
Chapman and Petermann at receiver. Onyeka (the DB not the DL). Jackson Bennett as a safety/WIL/SAM. I think Brett Wade DT out of Calgary could play some snaps, rest of the DL pretty meh. Maybe Shepley and Korte at OL will challenge to get on the roster and field as rookies. Rest need time/will be chasing kicks. Beaulieu from Western killed the DB/REC special teams drill.
-
Bennett just beat Chapman to an out...man if we could get one of Onyeka or Bennett we'd be laughing.
-
Onyeka killing everyone but Chapman.
-
Chapman and Simonise putting a lot of balls on the turf. Petermann looks special, as does Onyeka, the DB. Had a vision of the Bombers snagging Onyeka and pairing him with Loffler as kind of combo WIL's/Safety. I think Hall had that vision too based on his mug after Onyeka's 2nd rep in the ones on ones.

Alex Taylor getting some extra call outs from the coaches for reps.
