  1. Probably one, hopefully Demski. Still the draft coming and Wolitarsky. Coates can play too.
  2. Well if the option is going with Taylor Reed at high 6 figures or what we have plus rookies....I'm going with what we have. Larry Dean is really the only guy that interests me of the big money LB's.
  3. That’s fine. For the number of snaps he played for the Bombers last season when healthy he was overpaid. Basically got to a point where him and Corney were nearly splitting snaps 1:1. I don’t think he’s going to be an every down player again, at least on a good D. There are cheaper options to fill rotational roles on the DL who can play very good as well. There’s actually many options in free agency and then the draft.
  4. He is very overrated. Edmonton’s D was pretty horrendous. Recall the Bombers offense feasting on their LB’s including Konar. Konar isn’t a guy I’d want out there on D anymore than the Bombers have used a guy like Briggs the last couple years, but he’d still be the best Canadian LB on our team if we signed him. And you need some guys to play roles because you can’t run the same 12 out there every down.
  5. If I were the Bomber GM, I'd have offers on the table to (and expect to sign 5-6 of these 20): The rest (in order of priority): Larry Dean Kirby Fabien Demski Jake Harty Roy Finch Mrabure Zack Evans Craig Roh Adam Konar Cody Fajardo Lafrance Alex Dupuis Owusu-Ansah, corner from Argos Steele, Gill (if I struck out on all the other NI DL I've mentioned) Our own: Westerman (no more than $150,000 with some upfront) Thomas Heath Normand Hurl
  6. Torn tricep.
  7. 100 percent right. He didn’t get found smoking a joint on a patio. He was found transporting a controlled substance across an international border. You’d be in **** doing the same with alcohol or tobacco.
  8. Nope. Switched because Coombs and Lafrance were in the same backfield and they wanted to get all of them on the field.
  9. Bighill also played six seasons for the Lions. Wilder's choice not to play and everyone has to respect that....but if it's an end around on a contract, sit out one year and try the NFL next he can't possibly think anyone is going to respect that. The Argos and CFL owe him nothing in this respect, and him running to the internet like this probably doesn't help his cause to get his release.
  10. Little more than half a season of good production and you pull this? Wouldn't have room for this guy on my team. Lots of good backs around.
  11. There is no bigger picture at #2 QB. This team is being constructed to win the Grey Cup in 2018.
  12. Hopefully Ekakatie can take more snaps. You could have a pretty good interior rotation with Ekakatie/Nevis at nose, Poop/Thomas at DT if Ekakatie is up to it. Then you have Corney to take 30ish snaps at end as well. If Westerman is back you have another starter between him and Corney, likely rotating with a couple American ends.
  13. Harris? IMO they'll be set up to "start" 3 on D and 5 on O this year, but will probably have at least 5 on D that take fairly regular snaps.
  14. Calgary seems like a team that needs a backup to me. BLM is coming off a pretty tough surgery/rehab. Buckley and the rest looked like garbage outside of the Hamilton 62-0 game.
  15. Or maybe his friend said he doesn't care about cars and just went out and bought a $40,000 car. Tweet could literally be about anything.
  16. Given who they have as "staff" the comments are sometimes more enlightening.
  17. Interesting connection with Trestman and Gruden in that they've worked together, and they are both seen as guru's but they have never developed a young quarterback into anything remarkable. When they've had success it has been with veteran guys. Will be interesting to see how they both do with younger guys.
  18. 3DownNation is so stupid. Really going to "report" everyday on random tweets? That tweet could literally be about anything/anyone.
  19. Too many assumptions about the contract. Just because a guy has started doesn’t mean he’s getting paid like a starter now. I’m not a fan of Durant as a backup as he has a bit of a history of being hysterical. Hopefully his attitude got knocked down about 10 pegs after last season and he can settle in.
  20. That was 2007. He had games with double digit sacks in 06 and was awful in general.
  21. Calvillo? He looked finished in 2006.
  22. Collaros is still living on potential. Has never started more than 13 games in a season in his career. He's living on "project that over 18 games." He's turning 30 this year. He's lost 13 straight starts with a team that played like a playoff team with Masoli starting. There's no elite QB with a run like that in his shorts, not even a guy like Calvillo who faced some pretty lean years early. My expectations would not be very high. Honestly can't believe Hamilton dumped his contact for the 10th overall pick. Basically traded for the the right to negotiate a paycut with Collaros. What if Collaros balks?
  23. Kavis Reed is just a bizarre dude. That press conference was creepy. How does he expect anyone to take him seriously?
  24. There's something really fishy about Sherman's career. Clearly wanted/wants to keep coaching and the best gig he could get was high school? Couldn't even get a OC job with a 1-AA or D2 school? Must have pissed off a great number of colleagues.
  25. Speaking of injuries...May training camp on the prairies is pretty brutal. Could be warm but more likely will be damp and cold which isn’t good for guys trying to gear up to game speed and win jobs.
