Surprised at how little Thigpen is used. Not primary KR you'd think he'd get a lot more touches in a game where you get down to your 3rd QB since he's a guy who is pretty low risk to get the ball to and capable of big plays. Riders have a few imports who bring nothing to their roster, won't be hard to find a spot for a OL.

Not exactly. What if it's career ending? Referees presumably have experience and know the sport. Much like a judge who would differentiate between acts based on intent. They need to be able to make that call, it's not black and white.

They need to penalize the blatant disregard for head contact, the intent to injure. Doesn't have to be based on whether it was successful in injuring the opponent.

Result shouldn't matter. That should be an easy call for the ref as soon as the flag leaves the pocket....no accidental contact there, that was very purposeful.

So why is Lawrence still in the game? What does it take for the refs to grow the balls to call rough play?

You sure do need someone to recover that ball if it is missed and in play.
