Toronto really didn’t play that Hail Mary...lots of space downfield for an accurate QB.
-
Their D has been pretty damn good. O needs to score on short fields and get some first downs.
-
Good thing Carter got some practice playing DB...comes in handy when Glenn is your QB.
-
Toronto’s OL is horrible...and McEwen’s snaps are like they are happening in slow motion.
-
Carter takes the extra 15.

Which Rider threw the punch?

What a terrible half of football.

Ship has sailed. Mulumba isn't coming to the CFL. Took a dumb risk with the pick and another dumb risk holding his rights this long. But that's the CFL Draft for you. Find a decent player who will actually be a player and be happy. Swing for the fences be prepared to whiff.

No it’s the same guy. Lapo doesn’t develop players. We’ll have to put together a fantastic group of veteran players to optimize the offense with him and develop any consistency. Sometimes Lapo is a guy who needs to get out of his own and his players way. Edmonton has no answer for the run in the first half of that game and he went completely away from it. Let your players dominate and drop the game plan right out of the booth sometimes.

Blue Bomber Free Agent List

If we could get Medlock for 100k just to placekick and have FMB punt that would be a good deal IMO. -
Blue Bomber Free Agent List
JuranBoldenRules replied to sweep the leg's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
How is Spooner a free agent? We just drafted him. -
Now the other problem...does he have anyone to throw to?
-
Thinking more the opposite. Standing on the sidelines is horrible for a soft tissue injury.

It's not that black and white. I'm sure Nichols is getting a ton of treatment and it's going to come down to how loose he is and how well he can move on Sunday. They also haven't said Nichols is starting. Plus there's never a guarantee. Many things can happen any week that could cause any player to miss a game, playoffs or not.
-
And if Nichols is out we shouldn’t be pocket passing anyway. Play 6 OL, 7 sometimes, Normand, run read option all day and force the DL to figure out where the ball is. Use all the backs, use LeFevour, use receivers on sweeps and to block, throw the odd time on a rollout. Play ball control, give the D a chance and see if Edmonton has the physical ability to play with our OL and backs.
-
They should be prepping run heavy in case Nichols goes out as well. Edmonton is not really built to handle a heavy run game either.
-
Practice in general is going to be pretty light given the circumstances. They’ll be doing more work inside both physically and mentally. Real high chance to get injured in cold, save it up for Sunday.
-
40% run to pass in that game and over a third of those run plays came when they were up by 2 TD's. Gable isn't taking them anywhere. Riders will have Richardson, Thigpen and LaFrance taking carries in Ottawa next week, plus Bridge taking 15 yards at a time. I'll take my chances with Reilly's arm. He's had one good playoff and choked every other year. As long as the Bombers O doesn't turn it over they have a great shot vs Eskies in -10.
-
It is extremely hard to pass the colder it gets. They don’t have much in the backfield and Reilly is much less willing to run than he was a few years ago. I don’t see Edmonton coming up with a great game plan for the weather, not snow but freezing cold. Sask in recent weeks is showing what they are going to do with Bridge and Richardson. They will run option/zone read and will be ready for freezing temperatures. It’ll be a defensive battle. I like our chances a lot more vs Edmonton.

Game day thread: Winnipeg at snowy Calgary
JuranBoldenRules replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
When it snows or even if it rains quite a bit this generation of turf can fill with the moisture. It’s not like real grass because there isn’t anything under it to absorb moisture naturally. There’s nothing for cleats to grab into once the space between the fibres is packed with moisture. They’ll be wearing 3/4 or one inch cleats if there’s a light layer of snow. If it’s packed they’ll probably be wearing their shortest cleats because there won’t be anything to grab into. Assuming the grounds crew will be working on clearing the field basically until warmup and then afterwards until the game starts the only accumulation should be during play. Many of the NFL fields are heated in the northern cities but not in Canada! Best to move fast in straight lines in these types of conditions. -
Should this regime be on the hot seat?
JuranBoldenRules replied to White Out's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Matthews was a different regime and Givens doesn’t even have 100 yards in 2 games. It has been pathetic. They need better US scouting. Haven’t found more than a handful of difference makers. Leggett, Jeffcoat, maybe Santos-Knox, Bond.
