  1. Nichols can’t read a blitz presnap or get the ball out quick enough. He’s a 200 yard QB right now and he’s really limiting our offence. That could have been a 30 point half if Nichols could beat a blitz.
  2. Insane to throw a pass behind the line of scrimmage when you're already in field goal range to tie. Insane.
  3. Interesting on both final drives we see how little faith each coach has in their QB. Can't believe the screen call by Trestman. Lost the Argos the game.
  4. Can he be any factor toward a win? That's the important question. There's not much positive that he brings. In that case he basically has zero margin to do anything negative.
  5. Mostly plays tight end. Has only played guard significantly otherwise.
  6. If you don't cut Dressler this week his salary counts for the season. Even if they signed someone like that they wouldn't cut Dressler, there'd be no benefit.
  7. Lankford has never evolved from being a rookie. Makes the same rookie mistakes, mistakes most rookies wouldn’t even make like letting kickoffs roll on the turf.
  8. So as long as a player is reliably limited, we know that they can't do better, we can be comfortable with that? This board needs moderation. Holy hell.
  9. Then you haven't been watching.
  10. Hate the limited challenge. Should keep your challenge until you lose one. Why penalize the coach/team because the officials stink?
  11. Horribly designed onside kick attempt. No shot at that ball.
  12. Calgary's DL out of Dartmouth there just had a big brain fart and left his inside gap wide open 47 to run through to block the punt. My guess is they spend no time on that in practice. A guy who's played defense his whole life probably wouldn't even think in terms of gaps for blocking.
  13. Stamps D is crazy at disguising their pressure and coverage pre-snap on passing downs. Takes a split second off their pass rush but takes the QB longer than that after the snap to get their bearings since they get nothing before the snap.
  14. Regardless of who is in that role it hasn't been used for several weeks. It's not that Demski isn't getting yards, he's not getting the ball in any fashion. Why wouldn't it be better to have Demski and Flanders on the roster? Because then we'll have too many good players they have to worry about defending?
  15. Hard to judge the DB's harshly given the amount they have Bighill, JSK, Leggett and Loffler blitzing on passing downs. They literally have no support under or over most of the time. That's why the back shoulder stuff and double moves are killing them. I'd like to see Leggett and Fenner both starting, one at safety, one at SAM. Play with a more traditional look. Less blitzing Bighill and JSK too. Use them more in coverage.
  16. They were talking about Nichols' reaction post-game. They didn't get into why the fans were booing and whether they were right or wrong, what O'Shea did. They were talking about Nichols.
  17. Because that wasn't what they were talking about.
  18. I thought that was a pretty good discussion, point of view of teammates and Barker giving his point of view as a coach/GM. Found it interesting that they pretty much unanimously were disappointed with Nichols' reaction and felt his teammates/organization might be disappointed that's where his head is at too. I didn't find them shitting on the fans at all.
  19. Argos fall for the most obvious fake possible. Backup QB literally in shotgun in front of the punter and they totally fall for it.
  20. Agreed. He's been in the box a lot the last few weeks and missed a ton of tackles. I don't think he can tackle well enough to play there every down. He's playing more like a rover than anything now, lots of blitzing, some in coverage, sometimes up in a gap. His tackling is horrible though, he can hit but he can't get a guy on the turf.
  21. This doesn't make any sense. How does a huddle affect motion? They still have the same amount of time they just don't sub and call plays at the line. The D can't sub either, thus the advantage. They sure haven't been using much misdirection pre-snap in the last couple games. Lots of straight ahead drop backs
  22. I just don’t know how you can go for 1 when the opponent puts up a few scores and converts them with 2. How do you ever expect to catch up if you don’t match that when you score a TD? There’s only so many possessions (chances to score points) in a game. At a certain point 7 vs 6 matters not at all when the other team is scoring 8’s. You gotta go.
  23. If you watch that game last night and think Lankford didn’t make a difference I don’t know what to tell you. His terrible kickoff returns made a huge difference on field position. 2 terrible drops. Big difference. Football isn’t hockey. Everyone has to do their job and if someone is playing almost every snap it’s nothing like a defenseman sitting on the bench for 45 minutes and taking matchups against the opponents worst players.
  24. Lapo gets in a funk when he doesn’t have confidence in his players and he runs a passing game that’s all 5 yard hitched and screens to Harris. His playcalling this season demonstrates no confidence in Nichols. Lapo gave an interesting interview after practice to Bob Irving that they played on the pre-game where he basically said if he doesn’t call the deep shots Nichols won’t take them, and that’s why they are forcing them lately because they are becoming too easy to defend. Just be thankful we have Harris because if we didn’t this team wouldn’t be able to score.
