  1. Perry Solkowski.
  2. Nobody plays QB's like that anymore. Nobody gives reps to backups. Gameplans are way complicated and practice time is limited.
  3. Jennings has the yips. Wonder how long he stays in.
  4. Banks is such a loser on and off the field. How they keep him on the roster is behind me.
  5. The Kleenex Bowl...who's softer?
  6. Shows you the relative value of imports. Basically nil.
  7. There's a group of receivers who can't run routes and get by on pushing off and "winning" jump balls by handling DB's. BC has a couple, Trestman loves em (Richardson, Green), Duke Williams is certainly one. Barely seen that guy catch a ball aside from those
  8. I think Nichols needs to be a little more aggressive with his legs too. Like on that toss to Lankford in the back corner when they showed the replay from behind Nichols he could have walked to about the 2 yard line, his first read was Thorpe on a flat that was covered and then someone else on a dig, covered. All those routes to that side of the field he rolled to pulled the defenders away from him and left a ton of space for him to run. That element changes how teams defend and how DB's cover too.
  9. My only request is that Lapo let his guys dominate and not try to win the mind games with opposition coaches. He doesn't need to! He's got good players. The trick play was absolutely stupid and cost us 4 points. We had two drives that ended in goal to go situations where Harris and Flanders didn't touch the ball for those plays run or pass and we kicked FG's. That's a potential for at least a dozen more points from just keeping it relatively simple IMO.
  10. Then they are pretty dumb, aren't they?
  11. I think Edmonton's OL is average at best, they had 7 blockers on the line almost every play they ran run or pass. They got away with a TON of holds, and they clearly gameplanned to chuck and duck. Got lucky 3-4 times, otherwise not a whole lot of sustained production.
  12. The use of steroids have decreased quite a bit in my experience among youth football players over the 20 or so years I've been involved including through junior and CIS. It's incredibly noticeable when someone is on them now. I think part of it is a positive peer pressure and part of it is that sport specific training has taken off and most realize that using steroids and growth hormone for any length of time is actually detrimental to being on the field. More of an issue now are other stimulants, amphetamines and "drugs of abuse" meaning stuff you buy on the street and take at parties.
  13. What a ridiculous rule eh? Watson literally tossed Heath to the turf, I could see it if he ran into Heath but it was a full on shove. Only in the CFL. Not applied that way in amateur football. Everyone is entitled to their cylinder (shoulder width field to sky) and position.
  14. Sure. But they wouldn't put a guy there they didn't trust to handle the ball off kicks.
  15. Flanders has been the second returner for every game he's played. Just finally got kicked to.
  16. All of Nichols bad incompletions were intended for Lankford...me thinks he's running **** routes.
  17. Receiving crew needs some love. Adams Denmark Thorpe and Coates all made big grabs.
  18. More first downs than points...need to convert more 7's. Great game otherwise.
  19. Yes. He has good film and good measurables. LeFevour was in a NFL camp last summer.
  20. The CFL publishes a report every week, google CFL team stats. It's hard to find navigating their website, best viewed PDF.
  21. Nichols best numbers relative to league averages are on 9-19 yard throws. Also Jeffcoat is 5th in the league in QB pressures, Walker tied for 3rd in pass knockdowns.
  22. Also interesting, Nichols completion percentage on 20+ yard throws is 34.1%, league average is 42.8%, only Collaros is worse thus far.
  23. Bombers are 52.1% on second down. 3rd in the league behind Edmonton and Montreal. League average is 48.9%. Bombers are far above league average on 2nd and 6 or less, a bit below league average on 2nd and 7 or more (31.1% to league average 37.6%). 4th in the league at redzone conversion to TD at 62.5%, league average is 58%, behind BC, Ottawa and Sask. Our D is 5th on 2nd down but above league average, 48.1% for Bombers. Better than Calgary in all these areas btw which is kind of odd IMO.
