  1. They just need a common sense approach. Presumably the people reviewing understand football. The explanation could be that the QB had one read to the opposite side of the field and threw there without even looking to the entire side of the field where contact took place. The refs on the field follow this logic, why wouldn't the reviews? It's a major inconsistency. There are the rules, but more importantly how they are applied.
  2. Maybe because the opponent wouldn't expect that play to him either?
  3. Likely an INT if it's "on the money." That was a throw away because JFG was the only receiver in the route off the flea flicker misdirection and he was covered. That time the misdirection didn't work.
  4. I've never been a fan of McManus. Every interview I hear of him basically insinuates that he's hammered all the time and it's more awkward than funny.
  5. Welcome to football
  6. He has redeeming qualities. The overthinking, trying to outsmart D is not one of them. We have good players, let them play.
  7. They don't commit to the run enough to even know IMO. The run plays Harris gets are predictable. I think Flanders could be a massive difference maker though. **** Lapo is frustrating.
  8. Unfortunately only one offensive player is holding the ball.
  9. Who did the rocking? OL aren't chasing outside linebackers and halfbacks around the field.
  10. Probably saving his timeouts until the 4th quarter. Kinda smart considering the **** officiating that requires challenges to get a blatant call.
  11. The OL has been fine. I'm not sure a DL touched Nichols last night. The OL is responsible for 4, the QB is responsible for the rest aka get rid of the damn ball and find the hot route if you read 5+. He's not doing a very good job of reading blitzes, Lapo is running a lot of empty backfield and I can only recall a couple plays where they used max protect (7 blocking). That's just inviting trouble with longer developing routes and trying to push downfield. At least they started leaking Harris out to slow down the WIL/SAM blitzes.
  12. There's no chance that could be true unless Lulay has been implanted with robotic parts. Joint damage never heals fully.
  13. A loser coach is a loser coach. Daley has plenty of experience to give us the data to say he's a loser CFL head coach.
  14. ? Are you saying he should be starting? If so, take a look at his 2015 season. His shoulder is shot. Montreal looks horribly disorganized in all phases. Decent amount of talent though. Thorpe playing a lot of soft zone, like second and eight and the first level of zone is at 11 yards.
  15. It's hard to compare because the kickoff from the 25 has become punitive enough for teams to all but abandon the strategy except for exceptional wind situations. The ones that got me back in the day (like 5 years ago) was when a kicker would take the snap inside the 10, turn and run back to the end zone to concede. I think if I were coaching and I had that little confidence in my kicker, cover team and defence I'd just fire myself.
  16. There's fumbling, there's a bad snap, there's penalties that could take you back. Middle of the field 42 yards is like 95% chance to win with Medlock, and even if there's a screwup on the snap or hold you still have a shot to keep possession.
  17. Not many saviours left. Jonestown looking more like the 2013 Bombers than the 2015 Eskimos.
  18. If they are going to likely score anyway, why give them 2 free points? Not that hard to understand.
  19. I don't know. I think that was tempting fate a touch. I mean Medlock from 42 sounds like a good proposition to me. If he hit it badly enough to miss from there straightaway he'd pretty much miss that kick from any distance with his leg. That's an extremely routine kick for him.
  20. There's some creativity involved, but for the most part a KR is like a RB. If he doesn't run to where the blocking is setting up most of the time he isn't going to be very effective, especially when the other team knows that he's always going wide.
  21. I'm not a huge fan of Lankford. He doesn't seem to have much of an idea of how to gain yards north-south. All he does is test the contain of the coverage team which basically results in him running 100 yards for a 10 yard return. I'm sure O'Shea was pretty perturbed with Lankford taking the one kickoff wide to the field when clearly the blocking was heading to the boundary. Luckily he barely got the corner and didn't take a loss. Best thing I can say about him is that he catches punts and secures the ball. McDuffie was always a bit of an adventure on punts. I prefer Fogg to all of them.
  22. Yes. All Medlock had to do was kick it through the endzone. Also doubt you'd see "prevent" when the ball starts at the 35.
  23. Thinking Backstrom?
  24. Have we even won 10 times in Regina in the last 30 years? I don't give a **** who they put on the field, winning there is a big win.
