  1. Why does the league need a "commissioner?" The BOG sets the agenda for the league and makes decisions. The commissioner had no power and they've never trusted anyone enough to give them power like say a Bettman.
  2. I wonder if he'll come up for a "pro day" type deal.
  3. I pretty much agree with this. I think Schram passed Woods with most teams, even Zver and Evan Johnson passed him. There's only a few teams that really cream themselves because a guy is super huge. Most are looking for players. I also think Wright and Woodson will both go early. They have potential to play a bunch of positions, right up to WIL for Wright.
  4. I know, but they need that money to come from something. The Bombers are a non-profit so they can't make cash calls and raise capital, they don't have much to turn liquid either. The only way to do that is to go to government based on how they are set up.
  5. 40ish years. I say ish because they've added more to the loans to complete the stadium and repair it.
  6. Who is Triple B Stadium? The WFC and the two governments that appoint members and have oversight of the Bomber board too. Same damn entity for all intents and purposes.
  7. Not surprising. If you applied for a mortgage with the same debt/income ratio the Bombers have the bank would laugh you out of the branch. Wait until significant maintenance/renovations are needed. It won't be long.
  8. Boateng is one guy I can't see the Bombers being that interested in with their first 3 picks. I mean if they look at him as a developmental guy maybe but I think this regime is far more willing to draft guys who can contribute sooner than later while developing, especially with high picks. I also think the DB's get picked much higher. Could see Wright and Woodson both gone in the first round.
  9. Needed the Gatorade money to keep his whole family on the WFC payroll.
  10. 3 tech is the smaller quicker guy usually. 3 is just the gap they would routinely line up on, the outside shoulder of the guard. Nose tackle would usually line up on an inside gap of the guard, 1. Rare for anyone to line up head up on any OL in Canada because you basically take away your advantage of the yard and let the OL engage easier without having to move laterally.
  11. They are takeaways. Turnover is just easy because it can apply to offense and defense.
  12. Kris Adams was the only one that wasn't at least average or good. I don't expect a guy playing his first CFL game to be Dressler.
  13. He should have posted something intelligent. Would have fooled more people.
  14. Ya you don't have to make room for a guy who'd sign for the minimum salary. Also not worried about import receivers. We didn't dress a single one last season that was unproductive. Not too hard to find someone to compliment the veterans.
  15. It's pretty much a necessity if you are starting 3 imports on the OL, and either way you need a guy who can play significant snaps to spell Harris, rotate with a DI, and potentially take that spot on offense if Harris is out long-term. Committing to start 4 on D really hampers flexibility.
  16. Taking an OL in the first round is always the right decision.
  17. His best shot is probably returning kicks.
  18. More like a Patrick Lavoie with more receiving skills.
  19. Unless he gets put picked in the NFL Draft there is no way Wright drops that far. I don't believe he'll be available after the first 3 picks.
  20. If you were drafting for the best of the 2017 roster all things being equal you'd want a receiver and probably a DB that could play...like Wright and an interior DL. Our OL is 7 deep with Couture and Neufeld in reserve, really 8 deep with Foketi. We have a ton of LB's too. Harris' long term backup is an import, so you can counter that with a second receiver and then interchange a DI-Normand with that receiver and the import tailback.
  21. Maybe in the NHL draft.
  22. I agree. But I don't want a bunch of 2017 picks that we need to find room for or give up on right away.
  23. I don't think we need more picks. Honestly running out of room on our roster in most spots. We'd literally draft guys and release many of them and lose the picks. Maybe for #4 and their next couple 2nds or a first in 18 or 19.
