  1. There aren't many drills that don't heavily favour DL in camp.
  2. The way the ratio works you'd have to replace the injured NI on offence in game. We'd lose a ton of flexibility, don't really want to sit down Bond if Harris or JFG come up lame. Already lose some if we are dressing guys we don't really want to play in terms of DI's and sub packages. Another NI receiver who can play is absolutely necessary. Taking this discussion to "1k" receivers is absurd.
  3. Disagree. Fine if JFG stays healthy and performs. We have two "playmaker" spots to fill every down with NI's on offence. We have no depth. It's a problem. Presumably we'll want to use a DI and we'll need a NI to sub in. Presumably JFG or Harris will be injured at some point. They absolutely will not play every snap. Normand and Coates is all we got. Not good or deep.
  4. Dyakowski is done. He's never been close to the player he was since he snapped his knee in the 2013 Grey Cup. I guess they are hoping to get 18 games of guard play at one spot from Labatte and Dyakowski given their diminishing returns in terms of ability and health.
  5. Glenn's QB rating over the past 3 seasons as a starter with BC, Sask and MTL is under 90. That's like Jyles level QBing. They'd need a lot of spectacular performances all over the field to be close to .500 if he's their QB.
  6. Well Richards has barely been able to play and is again returning from significant surgeries. We probably need to have 2 NI receivers on the roster to fulfill the one starting spot, otherwise you're looking at making a ratio change on the OL or playing Normand every down if there's an in-game injury. We only have 3 to choose from as of today, plus 2017 picks (pick really as BTP is not really a receiver prospect). Also a bit of a reach to think that whoever makes the team lasts all 18 games, chances are we'll end up dressing 3-4 by the end of the year. IMO they need to add someone for training camp and if they don't will more than likely need to add someone during the season.
  7. I think he's closer to 200 pounds now.
  8. Other than Feoli-Gudino we have no idea if the others are actual CFLers or if they can stay healthy enough to show either way. We'll probably dress 3-4 NI receivers over 18 games assuming some injuries. We need someone, or we will most likely, and very likely we'll need someone other than Feoli-Gudino to start some games unless he makes it through 18.
  9. You are exactly right. Helmets can't prevent concussions from force, only protect from direct blows to the head. They need to start severely penalizing illegal tackles, high tackles and ones where players launch themselves head first into any part of an opponent.
  10. Ritchott isn't that small for a tailback and he runs with a lot of power. He's played rugby at a fairly high level and could have continued with that too. He's not shy about contact or hard work. The Bombers would be smart to claim him while they can. I played against and with Harris, I've coached against Ritchott in football and rugby, Ritchott is up there with Harris in terms of pure skill, probably a little more mature in his early 20s than Harris. Those two and Demski are the absolute terrors with the ball I've seen in this province in my time. This guy will play in the CFL.
  11. Good thing we're allowed imports.
  12. Honestly don't understand how the Herdman's factor in. Athletically they are both borderline CFLers. The Bombers retained Hurl, signed Miles, drafted Conteh, signed Mike Miller. They are covered.
  13. It's not so much opinion, it's that you say something like "league initiative" like it is a fact, not your opinion, and then link to an article that contradicts what you've presented as a fact.
  14. You just posted: They aren't diverting league funds. Is any other business that a owner of a CFL team gets involved with a "league initiative?"
  15. Where does it say league initiative of the CFL? Just that the first franchises are owned by people/organizations that also operate CFL teams.
  16. He's right about most. They take time. The guys the CFL wants are the best athletes who can just run by everyone in CIS and don't need to learn how to play receiver.
  17. A league initiative? The overhead for this league is going to be extremely low and most of it will be footed by the CSA. Like the highest paid player will make $10,000 a season. Don't jump off the deep end.
  18. Well seems like most teams have decided NI receivers aren't important. To me I'd play 2-3 there/RB and load up imports on the OL. The quality of NI OL has been bad this entire decade. Easier to develop decent receivers, especially when the guys throwing to them have ample time.
  19. It's hard to understand? The WFC operate a stadium that has about 350 open dates per year. They need to fill dates and make money. They aren't just a football club, they are operating a facility.
  20. Most of the guys picked after the first 3 rounds are camp bodies who might get on a PR and be able to work themselves onto a roster in a matter of years. They don't need roster spots for them.
  21. I think you're reading the comment the wrong way. They can draft two players in the first round, but they need to be players because they are getting paid based on their draft slot not their actual value to a CFL roster in recent years. They aren't drafting someone to sit on IR all year to get seasoned. I don't believe they would trade picks for players because there isn't really any room on the roster, unless a completely unreasonable trade comes along that is an upgrade. More likely they'd trade for future picks.
  22. That "turf" at IGF is going to be better than any grass field here. They won't spend the amount they would need to maintain a nice grass field here. Remember how horrible the field was at Waverley when they tried to play soccer here before, both pro and CMNT? Grass and soccer season don't really mix here.
  23. Interesting that everyone has decided that Canadians don't play receiver anymore. The receiver rankings are based more on what they think they can provide on special teams.
  24. Because it's second tier North American pro soccer. The players won't get paid enough to afford KD.
  25. He's a 330 pound nose tackle...a position that doesn't exist in the CFL, he's a priority UDFA and he apparently doesn't have much interest in the CFL.
