  1. I didn't see him play this year (2016). I bet he had a good year. He's a pretty good athlete at his size, certainly better than most in the OUA, but out of the guys he's competing against there he may have faced a half-dozen CFL calibre guys. It's a big jump and he certainly wasn't close to ready last time we saw him.
  2. Disagree about last training camp. He eats space, but doesn't get off the line. He's got a long way to go to be a reasonable option.
  3. Butcher doesn't factor into it for me. With him I'm more interested to see which side of the line they have him working on once camp opens. If he even gets on a game roster this season (barring absurd rash of injuries) I would be shocked.
  4. If Ekakitie is our best option I'd trade the pick. We need someone who can play DL this year, but I just don't like the value. I think there are better options later on who are similar value and ultimately will be cheaper too.
  5. Seconded. He basically just has all the teams picking guys who played CIS nearby. I don't think he has any actual insider information to go off of, which makes him kind of useless as an analyst for a draft.
  6. I think they might try to trade down and add 1st or 2nd round picks next year, even with the 1st pick. This draft class is just kinda blah, decent players but nothing too great and not a lot of roster space at this time either. Could take a futures pick though.
  7. Dondre Wright strikes me more as a WIL/SAM maybe safety. I don't think he'll be available at 6, Sask or BC or Edmonton will take him.
  8. Lawless is a hell of a reporter but his opinions are pretty uninteresting and driven by phony narratives he needs to support. I've found him fairly lazy in doing actual knowledgeable reporting and writing since he left the Freep. I'm excited to see what some of the next generation of reporters can do both locally and in the national CFL beat. Bauming in particular is quite good but likely more in line to be Bob Irving's successor. Had to check the calendar to make sure it wasn't April 1.
  9. Dollars to donuts he has a huge bonus due when he shows up to camp. Literally had his knee obliterated, let the Argos take that on.
  10. Right down Portage and Main is referring to a pitch over the plate, not a home run.
  11. Holy **** that guy is deluded.
  12. They actually have power and influence. They have a functional role in focusing their BOGs and subsequently their staff in the sport side and business side. If the CFL commissioner says BOO he's replaced. I'm no fan of Orridge but the position is an absolute joke and pretty much has been for 20 years.
  13. How does someone like Glen Johnson even have the balls to think he'd be a good candidate?
  14. Well if that's the case why not hire Darren Cameron. It's a joke. They have a PR department. Any number of league officials and reps can talk to the media.
  15. Why does the league need a "commissioner?" The BOG sets the agenda for the league and makes decisions. The commissioner had no power and they've never trusted anyone enough to give them power like say a Bettman.
  16. I wonder if he'll come up for a "pro day" type deal.
  17. I pretty much agree with this. I think Schram passed Woods with most teams, even Zver and Evan Johnson passed him. There's only a few teams that really cream themselves because a guy is super huge. Most are looking for players. I also think Wright and Woodson will both go early. They have potential to play a bunch of positions, right up to WIL for Wright.
  18. I know, but they need that money to come from something. The Bombers are a non-profit so they can't make cash calls and raise capital, they don't have much to turn liquid either. The only way to do that is to go to government based on how they are set up.
  19. 40ish years. I say ish because they've added more to the loans to complete the stadium and repair it.
  20. Who is Triple B Stadium? The WFC and the two governments that appoint members and have oversight of the Bomber board too. Same damn entity for all intents and purposes.
  21. Not surprising. If you applied for a mortgage with the same debt/income ratio the Bombers have the bank would laugh you out of the branch. Wait until significant maintenance/renovations are needed. It won't be long.
  22. Boateng is one guy I can't see the Bombers being that interested in with their first 3 picks. I mean if they look at him as a developmental guy maybe but I think this regime is far more willing to draft guys who can contribute sooner than later while developing, especially with high picks. I also think the DB's get picked much higher. Could see Wright and Woodson both gone in the first round.
  23. Needed the Gatorade money to keep his whole family on the WFC payroll.
  24. 3 tech is the smaller quicker guy usually. 3 is just the gap they would routinely line up on, the outside shoulder of the guard. Nose tackle would usually line up on an inside gap of the guard, 1. Rare for anyone to line up head up on any OL in Canada because you basically take away your advantage of the yard and let the OL engage easier without having to move laterally.
