Couture has earned it. Barely missed a beat with him and he's played all season. Neufeld is done. We're averaging less than 4 yards per carry and a horrific QB injury every other game when he's played in the past two seasons. More a question of who takes Couture's role.

Montreal releases Duron Carter and Stafford
JuranBoldenRules replied to blitzmore's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Don't know where the Bolden and Sellers crap is coming from. Neither could get into a D1 school because of grades. Duron Carter literally went to a different college all 4 years he tried to play, really only played part of his Freshman year at Ohio State before getting kicked off the team and one year of junior college, after which his QB infamously tweeted this about his NFL chances: -

Introduce them to each other. Walker is gone to the NFL after this season anyway. Timing of this is kind of greasy by Popp. Something you'd think the PA would care about. -
Smith is redundant to me with Dressler and Denmark. McDuffie and Gurley bring something unique, McDuffie is key on kickoffs too. It's a tough call to sit a guy who makes good money, but our optimal roster right now would probably see Smith being the odd man out. I just don't really see the need for him or how much of a role he can play.

Gaydosh has a serious back issue that he's never been close to fully returning from. -
Lions @ Bombers Post Game Discussion
JuranBoldenRules replied to iso_55's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Lions got gifted 7 points on a brutal PI on Arcenaux on a 2nd and long (FG attempt became TD) and a ridiculous missed call on that long catch on the sideline by Arcenaux that allowed them to attempt a field goal. I think the shitty officiating evened out even if you believe Harris lost control of that ball before his can hit the turf (which is really bang-bang IMO, not just that the ball moved, but that it was out of his control). -

Toronto's receiving crew today is Kenny Shaw, Diontae Spencer, Coombs/Durie and two rookie Canadians who were really drafted to play special teams. Barker is literally handing us a top 2 pick. Guy has to get fired this off-season. -

Could see Gurley and Elliott having NFL interest. -
To me the coverages are almost irrelevant. Whatever they are the receivers are going to make and find space, especially with the current way PI and illegal contact are called. Wasting a guy or two on a blitz when Calgary was always ready to match it just didn't make sense. The DBs make reads and it's easy for receivers in combo routes to make room, that's why you need those guys who are blitzing to take up space especially in the middle of the field so those throws are much harder. It didn't work at all, like even once in that first half. To me that play calling needs to shift a lot earlier.
-
You aren't going to get pressure against 6-7-8 blockers. They should have shifted tactics to the secondary and given up on blitzing.
-
There's a difference between a "catch" and establishing possession as a ball carrier. It's very confusing and has needed simplification for years.
-
You can label guys whatever you want. You don't have to start 5 receivers and 1 RB or any combination for that matter. If they wanted to start two guys as tailbacks they wouldn't have to call one a receiver.
-
He secured the ball and turned upfield establishing himself as a ball carrier. If he stumbled another step in the same direction towards the sideline he was going when bringing the ball in and lost control it wouldn't have been a catch.
-
I think you find a way to get them both on the roster and give yourself more options, in terms of having them both out there or spelling each other. I don't think Harris makes it to the end of the season otherwise. That comes at the cost of one of the import LBs who had mostly been used to cover kicks.
-
Not really. Calgary was using extra blockers routinely, Trestman relied more on the 5 linemen and maybe a back, getting the ball out quick. BLM was taking his time for the most part.
-
It didn't matter if they rushed 3-4 or 7 Calgary was matching with extra blockers. Should have given up on blitzing very early and given BLM less space to fit throws into with coverage.

Three huge ones up to the bye
-
They f'd that up all around.

I agree. With what is available now in terms of the number of eyes and technology, they need to make those adjustments before the half. They are working off the same play card regardless, more an adjustment in what is called and when.
-
Wish we played a quarters D on that last offensive play...why were our DB's running with the receivers? FML...cut out most of the route tree and at least make it hard to get downfield.
-
Good way to lose...close but they'll be able to see how a bonehead play here and there makes a difference, how they have to win every down and play a full game.
