  1. On PI reviews and any penalty review for that matter, the replay official should get one look in real time at each angle available, then make the call. Simple. Realistically the replay official should have basically have his mind made by the time the ref is even finished talking to the coach about the challenge. There's only one CFL game at a time and they are watching it. The amount of time spent on reviews makes zero sense.
  2. QBs are taught to turn into and finish through their target on set throws. He's doing the opposite, he's falling away from his target in most of the set throws on that video. He's got a strong arm as a base and that will always be attractive, like a pitcher who throws 95 whether that guy can find the plate or not.
  3. Watched that video of all of MBTs throws in a preseason game for the Vikings. Don't think his mechanics are that great. He's got a big arm and he needs it because he torques his hips away from his target when he throws. He's basically overpowering himself with his upper body to get the ball there. Lots of negative movement. That leads to inaccurate floaters. He'll be an INT machine on the wider field.
  4. Yes. If the offense gets the production they did this weekend and stays on the field I think our D an handle the rest. Three offensive TD's and win the time of possession you have a damn good shot of winning any game with this D.
  5. Odd how similar both our games vs Toronto ended up.
  6. I kind of like the idea of having all the DL dress to split reps 65-35ish between the starters and backups against a guy like LeFevour. Could be a lot of long downs with lots of running to contain him. Gauthier or Richards could be the other scratch.
  7. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your point...but this is a stat where less is more.
  8. I disagree. They are already starting 3 on D and rotating a bunch of guys in. I think that's pretty much the max you want there. If you go to more and you lose a guy or two during the game it becomes total mayhem. Rotating Flanders/JFG with Lochard/Denmark or McDuffie makes the most sense and is the least impactful on the entire roster IMO.
  9. Flanders will play. He and JFG will rotate in for Lochard and one of the import receivers.
  10. Not to pass judgment on this particular "incident" because I didn't witness it, but an acquaintance of mine from my youth who is a little "opportunistic" is well-acquainted with the mother. I'm loathe to say much more, but I'm a little skeptical around what actually happened and what certain perceptions of what happened were with that background knowledge.
  11. Reworking a contract midseason for less money is extremely rare. I doubt they were asking to defer money to next season. Walters himself said that they had one conversation and that he and the agent agreed that they signed a contract and that it would be honoured, much how he wouldn't appreciate Willy coming to ask for more money if he had a MOP season with time left on his deal.
  12. So basically you don't understand the game enough to synthesize and analyze it qualitatively or quantitatively. If our D and special teams score 2 TD's and our offense doesn't get a first down we win 14-13, the offense didn't play well enough. There's analyzing the whole team, and analyzing the phases. If the other team scores more points than us and our offense turned the ball over 7 times, why would you look at the defense?
  13. Maybe Durant leads us to a sweep of the Riders in 2017.
  14. Sounds more like Walters taking a passive aggressive shot at a handful of media who cover pro football like it's pro wrestling.
  15. No kidding. Making himself and especially Wiecek look more idiotic.
  16. I'd have Adams on the boundary with Heath, Fogg and Randle on the field side. Frederick I'd try to keep on as a DI and then I'd shift Randle inside in dime.
  17. It's more the GM part in terms of assembling a team of assholes...not the good assholes that other teams hate, the ones who teammates can't stand.
  18. Montreal is full of locker room cancers.
  19. Gonna need those first rounders if they can't get Chungh signed.
  20. What do we do with another DB? I'm guessing Bruce Johnson is gone and someone else is dealt too?
  21. Has that guy ever played more than a couple games without getting severely injured?
  22. Lawrence? He literally ran from the far hash to the opposite sideline on one play yesterday behind the line of scrimmage to avoid being tackled. Not what I want in a RB.
  23. Ya signing him would have been a bit of a risk at this point, and I'm probably the guys biggest fan. Cole and Green have been very good for us.
  24. As a team they are dealing with the blitz better. They are running the ball effectively which causes teams to back off and defend the field. They are blocking both the OL actually doing their job and guys like Normand and Sheppard playing bigger roles. Now they have to figure out how to convert 2nd downs. First down production is really good. I'd like to see the pocket move a bit and see less throws that cover a ton of field laterally, lower the degree of difficulty a touch and give Nichols more options in a route.
