  1. Wiecek should be covering pro wrestling. No credibility on Bombers or Jets.
  2. They made a conscious decision to dress an extra import DL and bench Hubbard. Killed Edmonton at the line of scrimmage, probably the difference in the game. But keep stretching to fit the narrative. Find it hard to believe that O'Shea is making roster decisions based on his job security. Find it more likely that he's making decisions based on what he thinks is best for winning.
  3. When has a 2 QB system worked recently? I mean like guys sharing reps in the same game and not due to injury. I think the level of preparation now is such that you can't really pull it off unless you have like an aged Dickenson or someone like that who can just step on the field and play. Unless you find two carbon copies with the same skill sets.
  4. I really like Loffler. To me he's more of a SAM/WIL type. Kinda scared about his ability to cover ground if he's playing a deep half/third/quarter for most of the game. Love him in the box and blitzing. Kind of a glut of players like that, Canadians. Loffler, Waggoner, Sherman. Solid role players, none of those guys have the skills to play safety in the CFL IMO.
  5. If a OL can't execute a dive you expect them to be able to sustain blocks to allow a back to get to 4-5-6-7 holes and beyond? Better hope someone on the defense trips over their own feet.
  6. Nichols outplayed Willy? 10% lower completion percentage, less yards per completion, sacked more often. You'd have to stretch pretty hard to put forth an objective argument that fits that narrative. Short TD drive was nice, but basically nothing else from Nichols. QB is down the list of problems with this offense. Basic blocking just doesn't exist, play calling stinks and guys are playing roles they don't fit (the 5'4 guy on fades). This TEAM stinks.
  7. Maybe the same group of OL who struggled with basic pass protection and getting on a body last year are the quackers.
  8. To me it all comes down to the line of scrimmage. Walters needed to improve our team at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Pretty much all that was done to make this team functional was adding Cummings. Shologan is an average player, not a good player and far from a difference maker. Our offensive line is an embarrassment. Poor technically and can't even hold its own physically. Getting their asses kicked week after week again, just like the last two seasons, but probably even worse. If you want to win you need to be able to set the tone at the line of scrimmage. Sure it might not happen every week, but with this crew it's not even a possibility. You can have an all-star RB, SB, a good QB, three good QB's, a good set of LB's....doesn't matter if you get your ass kicked repeatedly at the line of scrimmage. Work the ratio how ever you need to as to avoid getting physically dominated at the line. This is beyond embarrassing.
  9. Fire Bob Wylie.
  10. The line play is horrendous and that's pretty much universal. Hard to develop QBs in that situation. The expanded rosters have allowed teams to expand their DL rotations all the while most teams are still trying to pigeonhole NI's on the OL even if the supply of guys who can play at even at adequate level is not enough. The first team to just play Canadians where they are deserving and forgot the "we need at least 3 NI OL" mindset will be the next dynasty.
  11. Medlock needs to make his kicks. Game is over after 3 if he does.
  12. This rule is going to be an absolute gong show. I feel bad for the officials who have to justify calls either way to coaches. It's going to be an absolute mess.
  13. This game is absolutely huge. The Bombers have got their collective asses kicked the past two weeks, almost laughably. I personally can't recall a Bomber team with reasonable expectations that came out of the gates to start a season and literally face planted in the first 2 weeks like this. They need to prove to themselves this week that what happened in those two games is not what they are as a team. And they get the challenge of Hamilton, probably the closest thing to a physically dominant team that there is currently. If this game is a repeat of the first 2, I think we see a few pretty significant roster changes, like vets who are maybe coasting a bit or otherwise not performing watching week 4 in street clothes on the 1 game IR.
  14. Why? If you could bullrush the guy blocking you on his ass every play that would be the most effective way to disrupt an offense. Doesn't matter where you are lined up. The bullrush allows the rusher to stay in his gap and close in the pocket tighter on the QB whether he gets completely free or not. That is much preferred to speed rushing around the edge or ripping/spinning in or out which gives the QB lanes to escape the pressure.
  15. It's not that hard to spot if you're watching the game and understand coverages. Montreal slipped into prevent (basically giving away first downs, hoping to prevent big plays, quick scores, dropping 4 guys into deep quarters zone defense) when they got up 3 scores on the Bombers in the 3rd quarter in week 1. That would be typical of most teams.
  16. Agree fully. Forget being run over, he flat out whiffed on a number of what should be routine tackles for a CFL LB.
  17. Goossen is awful IMO and it's getting to the point where you wonder if it ever clicks. He has to think way too much to find a block and by the time he does it's often too late. Needs to be quick and decisive. He also routinely gets his ass handed to him 1 on 1. He wouldn't be on my list.
  18. You can't really run a season-long training camp if you want to have a chance to win.
  19. I can almost guarantee that the team who scores the most points will win the game.
  20. Canadian football games have to end with a play. If time is blown in with 19 seconds or less left in a quarter the team with the ball can run a play even if the clock hits 0:00 before the ball is snapped.
  21. You gotta start questioning coaching/development. A guy like Neufeld had to be dropped before last season. Play Americans if you have to. Would you rather have what's happening tonight or have an extra Canadian on D, another one at receiver and have a OL that can actually do it's job?
  22. No kidding. If you have 2-3 guys on the OL getting their ass kicked play after play it doesn't really matter who else is on the field or who is calling the plays/what plays are called. You just can't do anything, and especially with any level of consistency.
