  1. He's been targeted 84 times. Nobody on the Bombers has been targeted more than 53
  2. Don't really see a need for Lewis. He's not that good anymore. We have better guys who will be sitting out soon. The fact he has a prominent role in Montreal speaks more to why they are struggling than his ability currently IMO.
  3. Mitchell, Reilly, Collaros, Jennings, Ray, Harris are easy. That's 6.
  4. Calling our OL for the first 5 games "subpar" is being extremely generous. It was horrific. The receivers haven't been that bad even down to Mayo and Davis. Denmark is a #1 receiver. Adams and McDuffie are relatively useless. The OL trumps the receiving group all the time. Look at the average gain on 1st down between the OL's. You or I could play receiver with this OL and our team would have a chance to win. Can't begin to compare Nichols and Willy in 2016 until we can see them behind the same guys.
  5. Exactly. The absolute best thing I can say about Nichols is that he hasn't turned the ball over. Other than that he's been bad to average, especially in the past two games. There have been long stretches in 3 of his 4 starts where getting a first down was a challenge, even with a decent running game and a lot of time to make reads. Lapo's play calling has a hand in that too. If Willy was afforded the assets Nichols has had in his 4 starts I don't believe he'd be any less productive and there's a good chance he'd be more productive. To me it's just a matter of time until this is Willy's team again, ride the hot hand and keep them both as a tandem.
  6. McDuffie is going to have a hell of a time staying on the roster. I don't think you can hang onto a guy who's major contribution is simply kickoff returns. He doesn't even go back for FG returns. He's brought nothing as a receiver, he'd be way down the pecking order.
  7. I don't believe Lapolice is the guy to optimize any QB either, so I wouldn't fully blame Nichols for the amount of points/production of the offense.
  8. I feel like we should be getting more out of the QB position given how the OL is playing. I appreciate Nichols avoiding turnovers for sure, but he's been about a C+ the last two games on the whole.
  9. First thing to do is actually take some shots at the end zone. I hate, hate, hate when we run two plays inside the 20 and don't even have a route going into the end zone. It's literally 50-50 between getting a TD/PI or having an incompletion. Be more aggressive. Also need to run more or at least run those swing pass plays on first down, not 2nd and 10 in the red zone.
  10. Montreal was doing late and unnecessary crap to our ball carriers pretty much every down. Venable and Hebert could take a 15 or objectionable conduct pretty much every down. If there's ever a team that shouldn't complain about refs it's Montreal.
  11. Neither of these teams are particularly good.
  12. And Foketi. Better than Hardrick.
  13. I hated Cohon. I think he did a lot of media which is important, but he built a persona to mask the fact that he actually didn't accomplish very much. I don't need to see the commissioner on TV or radio every 5 seconds, rather have a guy who can get something done and play politics. I still believe there is a looming disaster in Montreal and potentially Toronto. You have teams that are basically worthless and depending on a rich guy to not care about taking a loss to keep them operating, playing on facilities they don't control. Not good.
  14. Morgan is a non-import.
  15. Sherman is a savvy guy, but Waggoner is probably our best special teams guy. To me Sherman is likely more in a battle with a guys like Briggs and Morgan to get on the roster. Hurl and Waggoner, Jones are top special teams players. The difference in our team is that we have better guys where Sherman was on our roster the last couple years.
  16. OL just had their best game in years and the Argos DL literally looked like they didn't even want to be on the field for the last half of the game, they kicked some serious ass. You don't mess with that.
  17. Not a fan of Roberts over Frederick unless he's hurt. Frederick is an impact player, Roberts is a bit of a project still at this point IMO.
  18. The Rifles and other iterations of CJFL teams have played in smaller venues like Rods Field and had the same or less support. There are a number of venues in the city that would be smaller than IGF, like East Side, Rods, Nomads, but I'm sure it's more attractive to players to play in the big stadium with better facilities. That's probably more important than getting a couple hundred more people out.
  19. Long-term disability would be ongoing payments, and tbh whatever the league/PA has in terms of insurance is probably better already than what they'd get. If WCB sees a claim as long-term they'll pass it along without even getting involved beyond an assessment.
  20. Personally I don't believe the players want anything to do with WCB. Most of them don't even live near where they play, plus they could end up seeing some money disappear too. This is a tactic to make the league address some issue around injuries and to make sure players are getting what is owed to them when they are cut while injured.
  21. The government names board members, but doesn't directly administer WCB.
  22. It's a little shocking that people have no clue how Workers Compensation works. The premiums are paid by employers and employees, not tax money. It also is not a long-term benefit. There are very severe limits on the length an individual can receive compensation. It is not long term disability. It's designed for people who are unable to work for a few months, not years. Long term disability and EIA are completely different from Workers Compensation.
  23. I'm not debating anything. You attacked Willy ridiculously and minimized his injury.
  24. I'd like to see it in a game. He's a decent returner, punts are a bit of an adventure, doesn't get the ball, lets it hit the turf too often.
  25. Willy had to relearn how to walk from the injury he suffered last year in Hamilton. Nichols injury was years ago.
