Henoc on his way to Hamilton & Toronto for visit
JuranBoldenRules replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
95K IF he can get on an NFL roster for three weeks(that's a big if) or about 100K for 8 weeks of work in the CFL? The only thing that makes me even slightly agree with your statement is the state of our sinking dollar. Plus he'd basically be giving up on a NFL career if he signs in Canada. He's got 1 of 3 seasons towards a NFL pension. If he went down and got cut in his first training camp, it would make sense to come back right away, sort of like Dressler. He's played in the NFL and there's bound to be an injury, or 100, leaving teams looking for players like him. His value in the CFL won't change anytime soon as a NI, that money will always be there. -
Denmark's already in the slot 90% of the time. You want to move Darvin Adams out of the boundary? Or put Nick Moore at field WR where he might see 30 passes over a full season? I don't track snaps, but it seems to me Denmark goes deep a lot more than I notice him in the slot. I don't think we're speaking the same language. Slot refers to where they start the play at the line of scrimmage, not where the route takes them.

Nic Lewis has a skill set. There are a lot of 5'10 260 lbs pound guys walking the earth. All but one of them would be useless "over the middle." The best slotback in history was 6' 185 lbs and the best one in the CFL right now is about 5'7 155 lbs.

Moore is our biggest import receiver, if that even mattered. Size doesn't equal ability to not get injured. Just about the most ignorant legend among sports fans, outside of the absurd racial biases.

He'd be stupid to sign before the end of the current NFL season IMO. He spends 3 weeks on the active roster in the NFL and he makes what he could in a whole season in the CFL. -
Next video I'd like to see a punt between the numbers and sideline.

Every player coming north has that attitude. Glad to see he's not 250 lbs with half of that in his gut. Looks in good shape. -

Speaking of that website, cfl.ca, anyone notice how messed their stats are? Justin Cole doesn't even exist. -

Let's get Nichols TD to turnover ratio up to 1:1 and then we can make long-term plans. -

Sounds like the Lions need to purge more whiney vets. New coach has a different routine that means you can't eat lunch when you used to with the old coach...cry me a freaking river. If they are worried about crap like that no wonder they play like garbage on the field. -
Messam has rarely hit double digit carries in a game in his career with any OC. Conditioning and ball security.

Lawless: Chill Out, Let Miller & Co Do Their Jobs

You can continue to state this until you are blue in the face, doesn't make it true. Check and see how long the Argos kept Etch, Stubler and Andrus. Didn't prevent them from signing Milanovich. Hamilton fires Marcel in 2011, Cortez in 2012 and still manage to hire Austin ($$$) in 2013. Money is a huge factor for those guys. If the Bombers paid Austin what he's getting in Hamilton he'd have to assemble a volunteer coaching staff and personnel department. Big difference between privately owned teams and community owned. I'm aware of what Austin is paid. The Bombers could afford him if they wanted to..even with the debt payments. Our stadium generates much more revenue than Hamilton's Revenue is irrelevant. One entity has to operate within a budget, the other operates at the whim of a billionaire. -

Reminds me of Troy Smith in terms of raw skills. Hopefully he can learn how to pass in this league. -

Obviously your message board etiquette needs some brushing up. The burden of proof is on the person making the claim. You don't get to call things facts without being prepared to source that claim. The 5 people who liked that post and myself agree. BTW, Iso, at the press conference when O'Shea was hired, O'Shea and Walters both said they were "teammates" - not friends, not roommates. Bill Frank posted the link proving they were friends, looks like you owe iso_55 an apology no? Why? Iso did nothing to back his claim with links, just his "memory". Lucky for him Bill Frank put in the work and found a story citing the Walters/O'Shea friendship after their CIS days. Kudos to Bill Frank for actually doing the research. You guys might want to re-read that link carefully. Running into each other at "football functions" wouldn't really register as a personal relationship. If it does, nobody in Canadian football could hire anyone else in Canadian football if they are avoiding their "buddies" and "friends." -
They need to wash them in bleach to get the colour of the actual 70s-80s-90s jerseys.

Willy: 22-25 325 3 TDs against the Riders. Think he fits just fine.

That is not unique. You pretty much described the roster management that every professional sports team goes through, every team has a structure, they aren't making decisions in a vacuum. Different managers place different values on certain positions and factors. Muamba would be comparable to Cornish in terms of Canadians playing traditional import positions, break the bank-ers. There aren't many teams paying running backs as much as Calgary does, basically them and BC. True, but if you use Cornish as a comparison, does Muamba bring the same level of on-field impact that Cornish does knowing their on opposite sides of the ball? Muamba plays every snap on D and probably every special team. At his peak Cornish played 2/3 of the offensive snaps and got 17 touches a game. Fantuz, Getzlaf and Cornish are all in the $225,000 neighbourhood, and there are a handful of offensive linemen up there too. I think Muamba will be the highest paid Canadian in the league if he comes back. -

In zone run blocking the back reads the blocks and hits the gap he finds. The call isn't going to a certain gap, it's right or left, and mostly up to the back and the blocking which is based on the defensive front. Looks to me like Walker is extremely hesitant, he did a lot of shuffling last night, which could be physical or mental (can't read the blocking), and our line is pretty terrible too. Even when Walker got the ball once on a run play and once on a screen well outside of the tackle with a ton of space he barely got going before the Riders closed in. I don't quite think his speed has ever matched the hype, and that's been for years. He's worse than Grigsby. -
Henoc Muamba or Matt Nichols?

We really have to start teaching capology in our schools...basic math too. -
2.. both of his fumbles.First one Stanley Bryant got burned. I'd blame that one more on Stanley. And the other on Longo... He only had one fumble in the pocket, and that was on both guys on the left side, simplest twist in football beat them that time and about 10 other snaps. The fumble on the Nichols run is on him. Gotta realize that the guys you ran by as they went upfield are coming back, secure the ball.

Leggett can do a lot of things. He's able to show that being closer to the LOS. I liked their 30 fronts with all the backers on the field. Hurl has been playing very well and now taking on more of a role on 2nd downs in recent weeks.
