  1. Good example today of feast or famine for Ford. Stops moving his feet and it’s big plays for the Stamps leading to 2 TDs. Gotta learn to track the ball without stopping.
  2. So you challenge to lose 2 yards but don’t challenge textbook PI to put you on the 1 yard line? Not much margin for error if you’re trying to win every game 17-16.
  3. There have been a multitude of situations where the process doesn't require the player being allowed at team facility or even to play games. That is foolishness especially given the allegations. I'd imagine Lemon will be in some legal trouble if he bet on games he played in, especially if he bet online. They've been pursuing these cases as wire fraud.
  4. Would it make you feel better if Feltmate was listed as a linebacker, or a corner? There's 5-6 guys on every team who are on the roster for special teams which ends up being about 1 out of 6 plays in the game.
  5. At least we have Myron Mitchell on to model the uniform. Who needs a pass rush?
  6. Not many starting out as the leader of the D though. Most of those guys well into their careers. Another reason why holding onto Wilson at WIL is going to bite us in the ass. Either he makes that move or we're buying someone in free agency because we aren't developing that guy through the WIL spot to get the experience to run the show.
  7. I am not a fan of Bailey. But I'd rather have him in that 3-4 slot with Wolitarsky (hell even someone like Lucky Whitehead), just guys who play their role, can get a first down, Bailey even worked that jet sweep as much as anyone the past couple years, and be able to bring in a decent CFL prime rush end or DB/SAM and let Demski walk. Problem is they signed the receivers all out of order. Demski then Lawler then Schoen came up this February obviously. In terms of importance to the offense you could reverse them. It's painful watching an offense where Demski is one of the top 2 targets. Something that's got us moving with Streveler is Demski taking a bit of a backseat and just being a move the chains guy more than someone we're forcing vertical shots at. Who was our RB from 2012-2015? It's not as easy as that. Ottawa themselves have hardly had impactful running backs going on years. Sask, BC have struggled for years to find anyone who is more than filler. Yeah you can always plug guys in, not necessarily going to be someone who helps you win rather than just be a placeholder.
  8. Can practice after 4 weeks. It's pretty rare for a guy to not practice for 5-6 weeks and go right into games.
  9. I'll disagree on Demski. He's a supplementary piece not a core one. He's proven every time we've needed him to step up his role that he can't handle it. And he's on the fading end of his prime. Falling in love with those guys leads you down the path to hell in a league with a salary limit. The whole point of building Canadian depth is laughing at Saskatchewan and Ottawa for paying those guys. Oliviera could touch the ball 300 times along with being a massive piece in terms of pass protection when he doesn't get the ball. And he's in his prime right now. You'd be hard pressed to plop a random American RB in there and get the same production. There's a decade of being in that wasteland between Roberts and Harris in the recent history of this club. Yeah Fred Reid was ok for a couple years, not spectacular. If you swapped out Demski for Bailey or Dunbar at half the price you wouldn't even notice around the corps led by Lawler and Schoen.
  10. Yeah there's a bit of a Matt Nichols vibe there. Can't hold leads, go from being unstoppable to entire halves barely able to get a first down, only putting up big stats when way behind.
  11. One of Streveler's best highlights is his senior year @Sam Houston State #8 ranked team. Blitz coming, he stands in and throws a fade from the 45 yard line on target to Kody Case in stride right at the goal-line. Case didn't even have to adjust to the ball just right to his hands just past the coverage.
  12. There was a glut of guys in his class of kind of tweener end/DT's. Otherwise all the DL drafted pretty cleanly fit as rush end or DT bodies. He fell behind the guys who played NCAA in his class. Edmonton prefers that for sure. Montreal took the guy from South Dakota who to me is very similar.
  13. Makes no sense to me that Myron Mitchell is still here. If nothing else, take a look at another pass rusher. Mitchell didn't even step on the field aside from kickoff return on Friday. Ontaria Wilson at least as been building a bit. If you think Mitchell is better....cut Wilson. Case, Alston. Why do we need all these guys if we aren't going to use them?
  14. And if Lucky fails Romby Bryant is only 44 and still a willing blocker.
  15. That celebration was ridiculous and should be a stern talking to/fine if not suspension. The league can't shrug at someone miming pulling a handgun and shooting someone in the head.
  16. A campaign of harassment against a team employee is a lot different to me than some criminal activity in terms of whether I'd even consider having that guy on the team. He's clearly toxic. It's not a mistake.
  17. Put that last clip up for what happens when tackles don't move their feet.
  18. Power rankings? I just hope we win 2 games.
  19. Hamilton returner has a gut looking like he just ate a rotisserie chicken whole pre game. Then busts a 60 yard kickoff return.
  20. That Hamilton TD a great example of using motion across formation to give QB read pre-snap on what coverage is. Dunigan in fear for 714
  21. Other than Barlow eating Hardrick's lunch in one game Hamilton has like zero pass rush. And their secondary is getting exposed badly.
  22. Forecast for the Hamilton game...hot, humid and not windy enough to move that smell along.
  23. If you watch his NFL preseason with the Jets it's basically what you saw from him and Crum on Friday night. One read in the pocket, then scramble. The difference between those guys and the elite passing QB's is that read happening pre-snap. There are a lot of ways to help QB's with that though. But we're never going to see Streveler have success setting up in the pocket 7 yards deep play after play. It's going to be RPO, it's going to be moving the pocket and giving the defense looks on multiple and lateral threats (like jet motion or playaction). You put the defense in a bind and simplify the game. You read one or a couple keys on defense and based on that we're handing off to the jet, or the back, or you're rolling. You have 2 guys in the route, if one is there hit him, if not keep running. You make Streveler's game sustainable by using all the weapons. We should have a role for all RB's. We should have a role for Whitehead/Demski as a ball carrier. If Streveler and Oliviera are in for 40-45 carries in the game plan make it 20-25 touches for Oliviera, 5-10 each for Augustine and Smith, a handful for receivers and hopefully no more than 7-8 designed runs for Streveler.
  24. If the pass is caught behind the LOS they can block right from the snap downfield. If the pass is ahead of the LOS you can't block downfield until the ball is caught, otherwise it's illegal interference.
