  1. Love the guy who always asks about forcing OL to wear leg braces in practice. Force has to go somewhere. When you wear a restrictive brace on your knee, you are putting more strain on your hip and ankle, and vice-versa for any joint.
  2. I'd like to see (assuming these guys are healthy) these changes to our 42: IN Kelly Cotton Greaves Markett Suber OUT Bryant Grigsby Knapp/Howard Unamba Norris/Cornell I'm assuming Greaves might take Alexander's spot on the 44. Bucknor and Sherman would be able to rotate in one NI spot on D, and if they are on the field at the same time we could go all import on the DL. Kelly will definitely be back on his spot if he's healthy and Bryant will be either on the 46 or 1-game IR. Greaves will come in this week barring any setback. Knapp will go to 1-game IR. so -1 Intl. I agree with Cotton for Grigsby. Unamba played well last game so I dont he's coming off. But we can definitely roster one of Suber/Markett to complete the 20 Int'l. No need to take off 1 of Norris/Cornell, Swiston (who took Alexander's spot) can move from 44 to 46. Good point. Unamba isn't as good as Markett or Suber on D. They can all play that gunner spot on cover teams, all have at various stages of their career. I'd much rather have Markett and Suber available for D. who plays WIL/Dollar if Dunn goes down? Probably end up with Kuale and Wild on the field at all times, maybe an extra DB on passing downs. I'm not sure that Unamba would get a lot of reps over Wild and Kuale if Dunn went down in any game to this point.

  4. Replaced by who? Tanner Marsh? The only difference between Smith and Marsh is the color of their skin. Both of them can't do much but erratically throw the ball deep. I'm a little surprised Neiswander was never picked up actually. lol Not saying that he's great, but better than Alex Brink at least. Brink has a wind-up, but Neiswander has no arm whatsoever.
  5. Did you watch the pre-season or pay attention to the first week of the season? Grigsby made the team because Cotton and Ford were injured. Cotton won the job and got hurt in the 4th quarter of the 2nd pre-season game. The hype isn't coming from nowhere. Grigsby has been awful. You can't block for a guy who runs 10 yards east-west before he makes a cut upfield.

  7. I'm sure Troy Smith will play better now that he knows that throwing for 45 yards and a 13 QB rating is unacceptable.
  8. Edmonton has had over 30,000 for every home game, which is pretty good considering their fanbase has been just as alienated as ours in recent years. At McMaster you aren't allowed to have liquor in the seating area, thus the crush in the endzones and people not in their seats. Calgary is about 2000 below where they are in a good year for attendance, but still well clear of any significant issue. BC's attendance is always all over the map, even within the same season, good luck finding a trend there. Toronto and Montreal are going to be huge problems, Montreal especially IMO. When it comes down to it, a solution will be found for the Argos. I don't think it will be nearly as easy for Montreal if Wetenhall or his family decide to bail.
  9. Calgary Edmonton Winnipeg Saskatchewan BC Toronto Hamilton Ottawa Montreal
  10. Grigsby doesn't need another week. He's had 5. Not seeing any improvement. He's great in space, but that space won't be there when everybody knows he can't grind out yards or break a tackle, they'll mind contain and let him run east-west all day.
  11. By the end of week 11, the entire East division and Saskatchewan, maybe BC too, will have more PA than the Bombers.
  12. Khreem Smith is extremely underrated.
  13. Grigsby dances way too much to even judge the offensive line in run blocking. Pick a gap, hit a gap, gain positive yards. All he has is that east-west test the contain type of run, so for every 15 yard run he busts he gets stopped for nothing or a loss several times, more now that the entire league has clued in. Always goes down with first contact, probably one of the most frustrating RB's the Bombers have employed in my lifetime.
  14. Based on his Jets columns, we should expect a "Sign January to an Extension" column from Lawless around Labour Day.
  15. If Grigsby were a President's Choice product he would be known as "Shades of Dorzon"
  16. First contact always brings him down. Only strength of his game is testing the D's contain, but now that everyone knows that he's going to have a hell of a time turning the corner. Not good in the pass game as a receiver or blocker. Next guy up.
  17. Grigsby brings nothing to this team.
  18. What message is he conveying and for whom? A red herring that popped into his head on the john yesterday? If you shoot any moron with a column who has a bad idea, is it "shooting the messenger?" You just deconstructed the entire premise of the column while praising him. January has little trade value. That's why rambling for 900 words on this premise is pretty stupid.
  19. Sad to see the melodramatic style of coverage of the on-field product transferring over from the Jets to the Bombers. There is zero substance to this column. Lawless needs to spend less time around Steve Simmons.
  20. Sewell's legs, knees specifically, won't last the season if teams attack him like Calgary did tonight.
  21. Anthony Coombs is a starting receiver for the Argos and he's never played the position in his life until a month ago. Where is the depth? Who has the depth? Yes, the Bombers have no depth. Who has depth this year?
  22. Which IMP receivers are we going to dress? Our NI's are probably better than the available options, excluding the guys who don't even have a week of practice in yet.
  23. I think thats true with the exception of NI reciever. If you have two non import recivers starting there should be better better depth to back them up. I don't see Taylor Renaud or Brett Carter as fouth on the depth chart if there are suposed to be 2 canadian starting. Look around the league. The 4th NI receiver on teams that start 2 Canadians there isn't impressive anywhere. Edmonton's 4th NI receiver is Akeem Foster Toronto has Natey Adjei BC has Kito Poblah Saskatchewan has Scott McHenry or Alex Anthony The only guys who are anything proven are proven to be not very good. The rest, just like Brett Carter, are big question marks. Adjei and Poblah are pretty good players for that spot. Foster has no ability to do anything but run a straight line down the field. McHenry isn't bad, but can't really do anything unless a defense forgets about him. I think thats true with the exception of NI reciever. If you have two non import recivers starting there should be better better depth to back them up. I don't see Taylor Renaud or Brett Carter as fouth on the depth chart if there are suposed to be 2 canadian starting. Let Kyle Walters know where he can find better. Teague Sherman shouldn't be playing defense either, but he is, and pretty well. Pontbriand and Fitzgerald would also come into play, if there were injuries I think we'd see even more tight end sets.
  24. Johnny Markett is the guy we need to look out for.
  25. Linemen get it worse for sheer volume. Even in "non-contact" practices most of their drills involve contact.
